""Wolf Trap" is different from the Star Wars comics I've done, but closer to my short fiction style (makes sense!). It's... a wild ride. I reread it last night and I'm pretty proud of it. It's nice to play in short fiction again."
―Alyssa Wong[5]

"Wolf Trap" is a short story by Alyssa Wong, released as part of the anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, that features the the scout trooper Hoyel,[1] who had previously featured in Wong's comic story "Peekpa's Tale."[6] During a podcast, Wong confirmed that the short story is a direct continuation of what happened to Hoyel in the comic.[7] According to Wong on Twitter, they brought back the character because they loved the characters they wrote and wanted to depict them more often.[8] The story was published on August 29, 2023.[2]
