A garrison was a military term for a collection of soldiers stationed at a specific location. During the Clone Wars, the Outer Rim garrison was present on Ryloth during the invasion of the planet and was wiped out by Separatist forces.^[2] The Confederacy of Independent Systems also invaded the planet Scipio with a full garrison of troops, which overwhelmed and massacred Clone Commander Thorn and his garrison who were part of the Coruscant Guard's diplomatic service.^[3]

The Galactic Empire had a garrison of stormtroopers stationed at the Citadel Tower on the planet Scarif, which was deployed during the Battle of Scarif.^[1]

When Lando Calrissian protested the conditions that Darth Vader was imposing upon him, Vader responded by threatening to leave a garrison at Cloud City. The Imperials did take over Cloud City^[4] and left a garrison behind.^[5]
