Werewolf (ウェアウルフ, Weaurufu?) is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series. Most frequently appearing as enemies, they are anthropomorphic wolf-like creatures, in some cases being humans turned into werewolves.

Werewolf is an enemy fought on the overworld near Matoya's Cave, Elfheim, the Chaos Shrine, and Cavern of Earth. It is a stronger version of the Wolf, dealing more damage and inflicting Poison with their physical attacks as well as having Auto-Regen, recovering 3 HP every turn.
Final Fantasy II[]
Werewolf is an enemy fought at Mysidian Tower and on the world map around Mysidia. It fights using regular attacks that can inflict Poison to party members, and often attacks in packs.
Final Fantasy III[]
Werewolf is an enemy fought on the world map around Kazus, Castle Sasune, Canaan, and the Vikings' Cove. It is a relatively strong foe that attacks with relatively strong physical attacks.
Final Fantasy V[]
Werewolves are a humanoid lycanthrope race that inhabits Quelb, and are an intelligent and civilized people unlike the werewolf's other appearances. Kelger Vlondett, a former Dawn Warrior and an old friend of Galuf Halm Baldesion, is the leader of the town. Their fierce outer form belies their gentle, even sometimes cowardly, personalities.

Werewolf is an enemy fought at the Giza Plains during the dry season, and often attacks in pairs. They are relatively powerful early in the game, using strong physical attacks including Ram and Smite of Rage, and have access to the Bacchus's Wine, making them even more fearsome.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Lupin are a race of wolfmen native to Othard. While an intelligent and civilized people, their fearsome appearance is believed to have given rise to the myth of the werewolf during All Saints' Wake.

Werewolves were once the inhabitants of a world destroyed by Omega. Unlike the werewolves of Earthen folklore they transform not at full moons, but by looking into the eyes of a member of their race, either another's or their own via mirror. Lou Lupus is the sole survivor of their race.

A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is "a person who changes for periods of time into a wolf, typically when there is a full moon."
