The Enclave research colony(Note) is a location in the Fallout TV series.

Background[]

Completed in 2076,[1] it is simply a warehouse complex to the casual observer, usually covered in snow. The one distinguishing feature is the large, glass-covered roof. In reality, the facility is mostly underground, with the surface portion merely the crown of a vast underground storage facility. Stretching across eight stories, the facility is built around a 200-meter-long atrium used for loading and unloading freight trains. Staggered loading balconies and a cargo crane remain present, although they have since been repurposed by the facility for research.[2]

By 2296, the facility remains under Enclave control. The experiments are shown to largely focus on behavioral engineering (using selectively bred dogs, with low-weight newborns immediately incinerated), biological research (with captures held in a train car designed for handling live cargo), and most importantly, energy production via nuclear fusion. Dr. Siggi Wilzig was a scientist working on both behavioral engineering and energy production research. However, he defected from the Enclave's goals at some point and was forced to flee the facility after his canine test subject, CX404, killed an Enclave administrator who discovered his theft of the Vault-Tec cold fusion device.[2]

Appearances[]

The Enclave research colony appears only in the Fallout TV series episode "The Target".

Behind the scenes[]

  • ^ (Note) The name of the facility is never stated in series. The title of this page is completely conjectural and intended to distinguish it from the Enclave research facility depicted in Fallout 76.
  • The location's atrium scenes were shot at the New York Brooklyn Army Terminal, warehouse B, dressed up with additional decals and cleaned up for filming.
