The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid portable home console created by Nintendo. It is their current home console and the successor to the Wii U. It is designed to played both at home when docked into a television set or monitor and on the go when treated as a mobile device. It features detachable controllers called Joy-Cons, which can be split into two to provide multiplayer gameplay. In addition, they also feature motion sensing capabilities similar to the Wii Remote.
In 2019, Nintendo released a handheld only version of the Switch called the Nintendo Switch Lite. It does not support docking to a television like the regular Switch does, however, it is generally cheaper to obtain in most retail outlets such as GameStop.
