Professional History

Sean Gunn is an American character actor who was first noticed in the industry for his role as Kirk Gleason on The WB series Gilmore Girls. He then went on to appear in every movie directed by his older brother James Gunn. His big break came when he provided the motion capture for Rocket Raccoon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, in particular the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, while Bradley Cooper provided the voice for the character. He also portrayed the Guardian Kraglin in the same films, and gained praise for that as well.

When his brother came to work for DC Studios, Sean came with him, and gave yet another dual performance as the Weasel and Calendar Man in The Suicide Squad. In 2023, James Gunn revealed that Sean would return to voice another version of the Weasel, as well as G.I. Robot, in the first project in his new DC Universe, the animated series Creature Commandos, which is set to release in 2024. It was also reported that Sean would portray Maxwell Lord in a future DC Universe project, potentially Superman.

Personal History

Sean Gunn was born in St. Louis, Missouri, as one of six children in an Irish Catholic family. He spent much of his early life reading comic books and making zombie movies with his brothers, one of whom is writer, director and DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn. Sean would grow up to be an actor and appear in every film his brother directed, as well as other movies and shows. He is also the brother-in-law of Jennifer Holland.
