出演[]

Ichigo's most distinguishing feature is his spiky orange hair, a trait he has been ridiculed about for years on end. He is a fairly tall, lean-built young man with peach skin and brown eyes. He likes to wear slim fitting clothes.[8] He has a tendency to wear shirts patterned with the number 15 because his name is a homonym for the number.[9] Since becoming a Shinigami, he has become noticeably more muscular, as noted by his sister Karin.[10] When in his spiritual form, Ichigo wears the standard Shinigami shihakushō, with the addition of a strap across his chest. Initially, it was a thick brown belt to hold his Zanpakutō sheath, but it later became a red rosary-like strap after awakening his own Shinigami powers.[11] It is shaped like a kite with a flat top and bottom.[12] Ichigo's appearance has caused several people, including Jūshirō Ukitake, to note a similarity to Kaien Shiba, the former lieutenant of the 13th Division.[13] After training in the Dangai, Ichigo's hair grows considerably, and he is noticeably taller, as stated by his friends.[14] After Ichigo loses his Shinigami powers, his appearance reverts to the way it was before his Dangai training.[15]

582Ichigo's new outfit

Ichigo's new Shinigami uniform.

Seventeen months after defeating Aizen, Ichigo's overall appearance does not change, but he becomes taller again and grows sideburns.[16] After regaining his powers, seemingly caused by remaining energy from his Fullbring,[17] Ichigo's Shinigami attire consists of a thicker strap across his chest. He has four black vertical lines on his forearms and black, tattoo-like bands crossing over his chest, wrists, and ankles. Similar bands, but with white ends, lie around his neck as collars.[18]

After training at the Soul King Palace, Ichigo wears his standard black shihakushō, but with some notable changes: he has two white shoulder plates crossing his chest in an X shape that hold his Shikai blades in place, with the first plate on his left shoulder having three sections adorned with red scales, the second plate having three sections adorned with red scales on his right waist,[19] and a white cloak with black markings tied around his waist.[20]

人格[]

When he was younger, Ichigo considered his mother to be the center of his world, always smiling when he was with Masaki and regularly holding her hand.[21] Despite crying whenever he lost in a match at the dojo he attended, Ichigo started to smile again as soon as he saw Masaki when she came to pick him up.[22] At a very young age, Ichigo heard his father saying his name means "to protect one thing," which instilled in him a desire to protect his mother. When his sisters were born, he began attending a dojo for the sake of protecting them. Since then, the number of people he wishes to protect has continued to grow, causing Ichigo to risk his life to protect both the people close to him and complete strangers.[23][24][25]

As a teenager, Ichigo is stubborn, short-tempered, strong-willed, and impulsive.[26][27] Despite claiming not to care about what other people think about him, he attempts to maintain a detached and "cool" image.[28] He generally keeps his face set in a near-permanent scowl, with his eyebrows drawn together.[29] His outspoken, hot-headed demeanor is a trait Ichigo himself has acknowledged, and if somebody picks a fight with him, he cannot help fighting back. He coldly refers to his teachers as "instructors".[30] He is genuinely compassionate and empathetic towards others, promising to bring a Plus flowers[31] and a toy plane,[32] or soothing others when they become upset.[33]

Ichigo is a capable student, ranked 23rd in his year at school, who studies regularly and does not neglect his schoolwork.[34] He works as hard as he does to overcome the misconceptions many have about him based on his hair color and fighting.[35] Ichigo hates fortune telling, horoscopes, feng shui, psychics, and anyone whose trade involves taking money from people for things they cannot see.[36] He has difficulty remembering people's faces and names.[37][38][39] However, Ichigo can remember the names of noticeable individuals even when they did not directly tell him their names.[40] Ichigo becomes extremely shy and uncomfortable around nude or immodestly dressed women, a fact both Yoruichi Shihōin and Rangiku Matsumoto have teased him for.[41][42][43] Ichigo is often disrespectful when talking to those older than himself, calling Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto "gramps" and referring to several of the Shinigami captains by their given names without using honorifics.[44][45][46][47][48]

When it comes to fighting, Ichigo has a complex sense of honor; he regularly seeks to exact revenge for the cruel actions of his opponent, such as instilling the fear of being murdered in Shrieker and cutting off the right arm of Yammy Llargo in retaliation for him ripping Yasutora Sado's right arm off.[49][50] He often taunts and belittles his opponents when fighting, sometimes attacking without warning.[51] Ichigo has a strong desire to win his fights, but in what he views as a legitimate manner.[52] To this end, he has often refused the aid of his inner Hollow, even when knowing it would allow him to win.[53] Ichigo's resolve in battle can waver at times, which can impede his fighting prowess, and goes into a state of depression and self-loathing when he loses a major battle or lets a friend down.[54]

Ichigo despises those who mistreat their allies in any way, even if they are his own enemies. He was disgusted when Yammy calls Ulquiorra Cifer, Nnoitra Gilga, and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez "trash".[55]

歴史[]

Ep178IchigoTatsukiDojo

Young Ichigo with Tatsuki Arisawa.

Ichigo was born on July 15th as the son of Isshin Kurosaki and Masaki Kurosaki, 15 years before he became a Shinigami. His sisters Karin Kurosaki and Yuzu Kurosaki were born a few years later. When he was four, Ichigo joined a karate dojo, where he met and befriended Tatsuki Arisawa. Though Tatsuki beat Ichigo in every match they had, she would help Ichigo if he was being picked on by bullies and cheer him up if he was upset.[22]

Ichigo was able to see Pluses for as long as he could remember.[56][57] He could see them so clearly, as a child, he could not tell the living from the dead. This resulted in him appearing to other people to be looking at deserted places and talking to himself. This caused people to say he could see ghosts, though when Tatsuki asked him about this, he denied being able to see them.[58]

Ep8MasakiDead

Ichigo wakes up under Masaki as she lies dead.

On June 17th, when Ichigo was nine years old, he and his mother were walking home alongside one of Karakura Town's rivers, which was swollen from heavy rain. Seeing a girl near the river, Ichigo thought she was about to jump into it. Unable to tell the difference between ghosts and living people, Ichigo ran towards her to stop her, unaware the girl was the lure of the Hollow Grand Fisher. Masaki tried to stop him, but he did not listen. After failing to grab hold of the girl, Ichigo lost consciousness for a time. When he awoke, Masaki was lying on top of him, covered in blood.[59] Starting the day after Masaki's death, Ichigo repeatedly skipped school to go to the riverbank where Masaki died. Tatsuki found him there, where he would stay from morning until night, wandering along the bank as if searching for his mother, squatting down if he was tired and then wandering some more.[60]

Ep37IchigoBefriendsSado

Ichigo risking his life to protect Sado's coin.

One day, when Ichigo was twelve, prior to the Kurosaki Clinic opening, he heard the bell ring and answered the door to find a girl with her brother on her back. He had been in a car accident, and was covered in blood. The clinic did not have the equipment necessary to save him, and he died before an ambulance arrived to transfer him to Karakura Hospital. Sometime later, he learned the girl was Orihime Inoue.[61]

Ichigo later entered Mashiba Junior High School. During this time, Ichigo finally defeated Tatsuki in a karate match, and had not had another match with her since.[62] Ichigo regularly got into fights with thugs, due to the unusual color of his hair.[30] During one of these fights, he received help from Yasutora Sado. Shortly after, Ichigo returned the favor when he rescued Sado from two gang members roughing him up.[63] When the thugs later abducted Sado, Ichigo found them and knocked down their leader, Yokochini. Using Yokochini's phone to ring for an ambulance for each of the five thugs, he beat up all of them. After Sado was freed, they made a pact to protect and fight for each other.[64]

Shortly before Ichigo became a Shinigami, he and Sado began attending Karakura High School, and their reputations preceded them. During a fight with a gang led by Reiichi Ōshima, Ichigo and Sado met Keigo Asano and Mizuiro Kojima, saving the former in the process. While Keigo was initially afraid of Ichigo and Sado, both he and Mizuiro later became friends with them.[65] Ichigo later met Uryū Ishida, asking him why he chose to attend Karakura and not a gifted school, as he would have thought that Uryū would want to follow in his father's footsteps and become a doctor. However, Uryū replied that he had no desire to become one.[66]

Equipment[]

Ep110SubstituteShinigamiBadge

Ichigo's Substitute Shinigami Badge.

  • (だい) (かう) (しやう) (しに) (がみ) (だい) (かう): Given to Ichigo by Ukitake before leaving Soul Society for the first time, the pendant he commonly carries on his belt signifies his position as a Substitute Shinigami, allowing him to remain active in the Human World.[67][68] The pendant gives Ichigo the ability to separate his soul from his body in the absence of Rukia's glove or Kon. It alerts him to the presence of Hollows in Karakura Town, much like Rukia's Denreishinki. Ukitake informs Ichigo the badge can also be dangerous, and thus it has built-in protection making it invisible to normal Humans.[69][70] Zennosuke Kurumadani tells Ichigo he has never heard of his "Seal of Approval", causing Ichigo to refer to it as useless before Shinji's arrival.[71] When Ichigo loses his powers, all of the mentioned abilities of the badge are lost as well.[72] Kūgo Ginjō tells Ichigo the true purpose of the badge is to observe and restrict the owner. It is at once a surveillance device for Soul Society and a device to absorb, analyze, and control the user's Reiatsu. It is also a device for communicating with Soul Society, as Ichigo could hear Rukia's voice coming from it. As the badge absorbed and stored Ichigo's Reiatsu, Ichigo used it as his Fullbring focus.[73]
  • Protective Charm: A Kidō-based charm given to him by his father. If the owner is attacked by hostile forces, it acts as a defense by forming a barrier, as displayed when Kon (while in Ichigo's body) was attacked by the Arrancar Grand Fisher. Ichigo was unaware of the charm's power, and was told it once belonged to his mother. The latter is proven to be a lie, as Isshin later reveals he created the charm recently.[74][75][76]
  • (わう) (けん) () (れう): After training with the Royal Guard, Ichigo dons special clothing in order to safely return to the Seireitei. These clothes are made from the bones and hair of the members of the Royal Guard, and they possess incredible defensive power, allowing Ichigo to withstand the friction that results from breaking through the 72 barriers between Soul Society and the Soul King Palace without suffering any damage; Yhwach notes that no Shinigami could hope to wear greater garb.[77] These clothes take the form of a white cloth, a floral-patterned bandanna, and a black cloth around the top of Ichigo's head; large, black-outlined weights on either shoulder; a long, double-breasted white cloak; a black sash and a floral-patterned strip of fabric around his waist; and white pants.[78] The white cloak and bandanna along with the black cloth he wore over the rest were destroyed when Candice Catnipp attacks Ichigo with Galvano Blast.[79]

能力[]

自然能力[]

Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Physically, Ichigo's Human body is in top form. Ichigo has been trained in martial arts since he was a small child, both professionally and by his father. He has repeatedly shown great agility and coordination in his attacks. In addition to having powerful kicks and punches, Ichigo is proficient in counterattacks, takedowns, and body locks. He has repeatedly caught an opponent's weapon strikes with a single hand.[80] He effortlessly defeats multiple bullies and gangsters on a regular basis, and is a better martial artist than Tatsuki Arisawa, who is officially ranked the second strongest fighter of her age group in all of Japan despite her fighting with a broken arm. Combined with his speed, he effortlessly knocked out three lieutenants in rapid succession, while bare-handed, with a single strike each before the first lieutenant even touched the ground.[81] While he has stopped training, constant attacks from bullies and his father keep his skills fresh.

Enhanced Strength: Even while not in his Shinigami form, Ichigo is deceptively strong, smashing a man's head through a concrete road with a single kick,[82] and later kicking Asguiaro Ebern from his bedroom into the street without injuring his leg from the man's Hierro.[83]

Enhanced Speed & Reflexes: Even before learning Shunpo, Ichigo is a very fast and agile fighter. Ichigo possesses great reflexes, dodging a strike with no wasted effort and immediately counterattacking.[84] He can strike quickly, without warning, and in rapid succession.[85] His speed allows him to follow the movements of faster opponents to better analyze their movements, and block otherwise fatal strikes.[86] Even when struck by surprise by Tenjirō Kirinji, who is fast enough to outpace Suì-Fēng, Ichigo counterattacked and injured said attacker without anybody else noticing.[87] Ichigo managed to dodge a surprise point-blank shot to the head and attempt to perform a counter against Robert Accutrone, who was fast enough to match and pressure a fast Captain such as Shunsui in terms of speed.[88]

Enhanced Durability: While only a teenage Human, Ichigo is a highly resilient young man, safely breaking free from a binding spell (albeit a low-level one) and withstanding an assault from a large Hollow.[89]

Advanced Growth Rate: According to both Aizen and Urahara, Ichigo's most astounding ability is his growth rate; he grasps the basic control of advanced techniques in days where it would take several years for even the most gifted Shinigami. Shortly after gaining Shinigami powers and with no previous training, he began learning advanced spiritual energy sensing techniques by sheer instinct. While it takes most Shinigami at least 10 years to achieve Bankai, he did so in two-and-a-half days (albeit with the assistance of a special device invented by Urahara which was originally intended for three days).[90][91] He gains considerable experience in the use of Shunpo while training with Yoruichi, which was done over the same period as his Bankai.[92] Besides his improvements in his Shinigami abilities, Ichigo greatly increased the time he could maintain his Hollow mask, from eleven seconds to considerably longer amounts of time. During his first fight with Ulquiorra, he is instantly incapacitated by one Cero blast, even with his Hollow mask (which broke within a second), but only a few hours later, he withstands another Cero from Ulquiorra without undergoing Hollowfication, and can analyze Ulquiorra's movements much better than before, when he had "felt like [he] was fighting a machine or a statue" and failed to predict and counter his attacks.[93][94] His latent abilities have been recognized by the Wandenreich as potent enough to make him one of the Special War Powers of Soul Society.[95]

Keen Intellect: Despite his somewhat punkish attitude, Ichigo is analytical, perceptive, and deductive. In his high school, Ichigo's grades are almost always near the top, despite his work as a Substitute Shinigami. Aside from that, Ichigo can determine the pattern of his opponent's battle methods and form a proper counter-strategy to defeat his opponent's attacks.

() (りやう) (れい) (りよく): Ichigo has been noted on several occasions to have tremendously vast levels of spiritual energy, well-beyond most other Shinigami.[96] His spiritual power is noted to be heavy, which surprised Renji Abarai.[97] Ichigo constantly gives off Reiatsu at the level of a captain.[98] Even when worn-out in battle, he can continue fighting effectively while still using Getsuga Tenshō and his Bankai.[99] Even at less than half strength, his spiritual energy is comparable to a captain-level fighter.[100] His energy is strong enough to hold back the Sōkyoku, a halberd with the destructive force equivalent to one million Zanpakutō combined, using only his Zanpakutō.[101] Even before his Dangai training, his spiritual energy was strong enough for him to be able to sense Aizen's increased Reiatsu as a result of his Second Fusion with the Hōgyoku while fighting Gin from a considerable distance away, despite his father, Urahara, and Yoruichi, all former Gotei 13 Captains, being unable to do so themselves while fighting him directly.[102][103] His Reiatsu is golden yellow in color.[104] After his training at the Soul King Palace, Ichigo was able to overwhelm four Sternritter simultaneously[105] and then calmly fight on par with a Sternritter using Quincy: Vollständig using just his Shikai and eventually overpower his foe.[106]

673Ichigo's Reiatsu

Ichigo's Reiatsu after attaining his true power.

(しら) (うと) (れい) (あつ) (くわん) (): For the majority of the time since he gained his Shinigami powers, Ichigo's spiritual energy has been rather difficult for him to control, as he never had formal training in controlling it, and upon Hollowfication, his Reiatsu fluctuated wildly, with it being unreadable at its lowest point and at its highest point greater than that of the fourth Espada Ulquiorra Cifer.[107] Due to this, and him having far more spiritual energy than his body can consciously contain, it leaked out constantly, preventing him from hiding it and effectively making stealth impossible when dealing with other spiritually-aware beings. He has learned how to harden his spiritual energy and enhance the strength of his attacks, or use it as a barrier to reduce the impact of attacks on him, if not negating them completely.[108] He possesses some skill in channeling his spiritual power, as he was able to destroy the Arbor of the Sōkyoku, a seemingly impossible feat which surprised the Gotei 13, by channeling his spiritual power through his sword into the execution stand.[109] According to Kirio Hikifune, Ichigo has gained control over his fluctuating Reiatsu after his training in the Soul King Palace,[110] and it is now so powerful that it automatically becomes visible when Ichigo is preparing to battle.[111]

Spiritual Awareness: Since he was a child, Ichigo has had an innate ability to clearly see spiritual beings and sense their presence. After becoming a Shinigami, his senses have continued to improve with time, learning various advanced sensing techniques, such as using a spirit ribbon to find Yūichi Shibata (in bird form).[112] Even from a considerable distance, he can detect the condition of a being with spiritual power. During his intense fight against Kenpachi Zaraki, he clearly sensed and recognized Sado's energy signature even as it weakened, despite the considerable distance between them.[113]

Master Swordsman: In terms of fighting style while in his Shinigami form, Ichigo relies mainly on swordplay. Aside from his initial training with Urahara, he is essentially on a "learn as you go" training regimen; thusly, his skill has developed by fighting rather than formal instruction, becoming even more capable with every fight. His overall skill allows him to fight evenly against sword masters of Byakuya Kuchiki and Kenpachi Zaraki's caliber. While usually fighting right-handed, Ichigo appears to be ambidextrous, as he is proficient in wielding Zangetsu in his left hand.[114][115][116] Since attaining the true form of Zangetsu, he has displayed great skill at wielding both blades at once without any trouble.[117][118][119][120][121][122]

死神能力[]

(しゆん) () (はく) (): Though not particularly versed in its various techniques, Ichigo is proficient enough in the technique itself to keep up with and even surprise high-level Shinigami with his speed. Byakuya Kuchiki, one of the most proficient users of Shunpo in Soul Society, complimented Ichigo's growing mastery of the technique.[123] During his first demonstration of this skill, he knocked out three lieutenants and grabbed his Zanpakutō before any of them hit the ground.[81] After returning from the Soul King Palace, Ichigo has refined his skill in Shunpo, moving several miles in a single leap while simultaneously bypassing the perception of multiple Sternritter.[124]

Enhanced Strength: When he is in his Shinigami body, Ichigo's already impressive strength is greatly enhanced. He has knocked out three Shinigami lieutenants with a single punch each, one of which shattered one of their Zanpakutō at the same time.[81] His strength is great enough to easily stop repeated axe blows from Jidanbō before shattering Jidanbō's axes in a single swing, and hurl Rukia a dozen meters into Renji's arms and send them both skidding several meters more, achieving both feats with a single hand.[125][126] With a single kick, he can break down and launch a large chunk of a stone wall.[127] After regaining his Shinigami powers, one swing from his Zanpakutō produced a shockwave powerful enough to overwhelm Kūgo Ginjō, making the Fullbringer mistake it for a Getsuga Tenshō.[128] When fighting Quilge Opie, Ichigo grabbed one of his Heilig Pfeil with his bare hand without sustaining any damage, despite the considerable explosion it caused when Ichigo threw it back.[129] After returning from the Soul King Palace, Ichigo has increased in strength, allowing him to throw four Sternritter into separate buildings in rapid succession without any visible effort.[130]

Immense Endurance: When in his Shinigami form, Ichigo's endurance is strengthened to the point where he can continue fighting effectively after receiving many injuries, and can survive attacks which would easily kill normal Humans. It was stated by Rukia that a Shinigami's life force is their spiritual power. As such, Ichigo can withstand attacks which would be fatal to most Shinigami.[131] Uryū once stated Ichigo was a monster in this regard,[132] and Aizen commented on his ability to continue moving despite grave injuries.[133]

Enhanced Durability: Ichigo becomes much more durable in his Shinigami form. During his last fight with Kūgo Ginjō, he withstood a direct hit from the Getsuga Tenshō created by his opponent, and the damage was only done to one of his arms and part of his face.[134] When fighting Quilge Opie, Ichigo withstood the impact of several Heilig Pfeil fired at him, unharmed, despite the powerful explosion each one caused.[135] Tenjirō Kirinji, a member of the Royal Guard, was amazed at Ichigo's ability to endure the unique healing properties of his White Skeleton Pond and Blood Hell Pond for so long after fully healing without rotting.[136] After his training in the Soul King Palace, his durability has increased to the point where he can withstand a direct attack from Meninas McAllon with only scratches on his face and retain the ability to move afterward, something which Robert Accutrone commended him for.[137]

斬魄刀[]

(ざん) (ぐゑつ)

542Ichigo's Shikai, Zangetsu

(ざん) (ぐゑつ) (しん)が『 () (かい)』の姿 (すがた)

  • () (かい): After his Bankai's sword is broken, Ichigo discovers he does not possess a true Zanpakutō, but instead wields one formed from his inherited fusion of his Shinigami/Hollow powers. Later, Zangetsu is personally reforged by Ōetsu Nimaiya, using an actual Asauchi. In his inner world, Ichigo, coming to terms with his heritage and powers, gains access to his true Zanpakutō, which had been suppressed all this time. His actual Zanpakutō takes the form of two separate, purely black[138] blades. One is the size of his previous sword, once again in the shape of a khyber knife, with the grip at the base of the blade and a handle extending back from this about roughly the width and length of Ichigo's forearm. There is a thin, hollowed-out portion running along the back edge of the blade from the base to the middle of the blade. The second blade is relatively small, about the size of Ichigo's arm, and is similar to the first blade, but resembles a trench knife more than a sword. Unlike its counterpart, it has an enclosed handle, with a portion acting like a hand guard. Both blades represent a different facet of Ichigo's powers: the larger blade represents his inner Hollow (the manifestation of his Shinigami/Hollow powers) and the smaller blade represents "the old man" (the manifestation of his Quincy powers).[139] After gaining his new Zanpakutō, Ichigo wraps the hilts of both swords in cloth, and now carries the larger blade on his back and the shorter blade on his right hip.[140]
Shikai Special Ability: Zangetsu's Shikai is largely used for melee combat, but possesses two known special abilities.
673Ichigo attacks

Ichigo launches a Getsuga Tenshō at Yhwach.

  • (ぐゑつ) () (てん) (しよう): At the instant of the slash, Zangetsu, absorbing Ichigo's spiritual energy, releases highly condensed spiritual energy at the tip of the blade, which, magnifying the slash attack, flies forward.[141] This slash takes the form of a crescent moon or the shape of a wave.[142] Ichigo uses this ability without knowing its name several times, but masters the technique later on during his Bankai training. As stated by Zangetsu, knowing the name of an attack heightens its power compared to its strength when the wielder does not know its name.[143] The Getsuga Tenshō is a powerful technique with great force, capable of causing large-scale damage and destruction. Ichigo has used this technique in several different manners, such as striking the ground, creating an omnidirectional blast which knocks away incoming attacks, or slashing at the ground, upturning it and crushing everything in its path.[144] After Ichigo regains his Shinigami powers for the second time, his Getsuga Tenshō is noticeably larger and stronger than it was before he lost his powers.[145] A single strike from it cleanly cut off the top portion of Tsukishima's mansion and dispersed an entire rainstorm.[146] After gaining his true Zanpakutō, Ichigo can fire a Getsuga Tenshō by simply pointing his smaller sword at the enemy and making a small slash with it.[147] He can also fire a Getsuga Tenshō with his larger sword; this version is completely black, and is powerful enough to blast a large hole in the Soul King Palace and knock someone as powerful as Yhwach several meters back.[148]
678Ichigo's Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu

The new form of Ichigo's Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu.

  • (ばん) (かい) (てん) () (ざん) (ぐゑつ): To activate his Bankai, Ichigo places the two blades of his Shikai side by side, causing a surge of energy to engulf him and the swords. Tensa Zangetsu takes the form of a khyber knife variation; the smaller black blade comprises the inner part of the sword and has the handle, which resembles a normal Katana’s with black wrapping, much like the original Tensa Zangetsu, fixed to it, while the base of the sword is slanted and the blade continues with a section jutting out from the underside as a guard, with a chain attached to it that loops over the top and attaches right before the point of the blade.[151] After Yhwach tries to destroy Tensa Zangetsu a second time during his final battle with Ichigo, only the outer white portion of the sword breaks off instead, revealing a blade matching the original form of Ichigo's Shikai, Zangetsu, underneath.[152]
(ばん) (かい) (とく) (べつ) (せい) (のう): While the power of the true Tensa Zangetsu is currently unknown, a Soul King-empowered Yhwach considered it dangerous enough to necessitate immediately breaking Ichigo's Bankai following its activation during their battle.[153]
683Ichigo attacks

A Getsuga Tenshō generated by Tensa Zangetsu.

  • Enhanced Getsuga Tenshō: Ichigo can fire a massively powerful, golden-colored Getsuga Tenshō. When this technique was used against a Soul King-empowered Yhwach, Ichigo bifurcated him with the force of the blast[154] and would have killed him were it not for The Almighty allowing Yhwach to reverse his own death.[155]

虛化[]

675Ichigo transforms

Ichigo's merged Hollow form.

(がつ) (ぺい) (きよ)姿 (): After Ichigo learned the truth about the source of his Shinigami powers and reforged his Zanpakutō, his Hollow and Quincy came into balance with one another; however, should Ichigo's inner Hollow be woken by large amounts of Quincy Reiatsu,[156] this balance will be disrupted, and Ichigo can meld with his inner Hollow,[157] resulting in a powerful transformation.[158] In this form, the left side of Ichigo's face and neck change to resemble the form his inner Hollow took on while fighting Ulquiorra Cifer, as well as his former Hollowfication; his left eye inverts in color with a black sclera and yellow iris, he has dark marks running down his face and along his neck, and he gains a long, forward-pointing horn on the left side of his head.[159] While in this form, the larger blade of Zangetsu turns white.[160]
Power Augmentation: As with his Hollow mask, Ichigo's merged Hollow form drastically increases his combat capabilities and overall power.
  • (かう) (そく) (): While in this form, Ichigo's speed is noticeably enhanced; after entering it behind the protection of Orihime's Santen Kesshun, Ichigo near-instantaneously moved in front of the barrier and a considerable distance away from Orihime, who was unable to fathom how quickly he had gotten there.[161] Shortly afterward, when Yhwach formed his Reishi broadsword in preparation for close-range combat, Ichigo managed to restrain his sword arm while readying an attack before Yhwach could even react.[162]
  • (かう)Strength: While battling Yhwach in this form, Ichigo not only restrained Yhwach's sword arm with one hand, but destroyed a large chunk of the tower they were fighting in with the force of his subsequent slash.[163]
  • (かう) (れい) (りよく): Upon exerting his Reiatsu, Ichigo leveled the entirety of Silbern at the top of Wahrwelt, leading Yhwach himself to call his power "magnificent".[164]
677Fused Getsuga Tensho-Gran Rey Cero

Ichigo combines a Getsuga Tenshō with a Gran Rey Cero.

(へい) (よう) (わう) (きよ) (せん) (くわう)- (ぐゑつ) () (てん) (しよう): By using the longer sword of Zangetsu as a substitute second horn and with his blood as a catalyst, Ichigo can fire a Gran Rey Cero; moreover, he can combine it with a Getsuga Tenshō to create a massive slashing attack powerful enough to wound a Soul King-empowered Yhwach;[165] though the latter quickly brushed it off, he noted that it was nonetheless a potent technique and proof that he had to begin taking Ichigo seriously.[166]

Quincy Powers & Abilities[]

Ep373IchigoBlutVene

Ichigo's Blut Vene stops Yhwach's blade.

(くゑつ) (さう): A Quincy ability which gives one inhuman defensive & offensive capability.

  • (せい) (くゑつ) (さう): One of two Blut abilities, Blut Vene is the defensive Blut. Ichigo's imprisonment by Quilge Opie transferred some of Quilge's Reiatsu to Ichigo, which awakened the memories within his Reiatsu left by his mother, who was a Quincy. This has given him access to the defensive Blut. He has used it to survive an attack from Yhwach's sword, which only left a small cut.[167] This power can also be used to aid Ichigo against critical wounds that have already been inflicted, able to stop the severe loss of blood that would be caused from said wound.[168]

Former Powers & Abilities[]

Zanpakutō
(ざん) (ぐゑつ): When Ichigo first becomes a Shinigami, his Zanpakutō was very similar in appearance to Rukia's sealed Zanpakutō [169][170] but oversized, with an equally-oversized brown sheath hung by a strap across his back and over his right shoulder. It had a rectangular bronze tsuba with gently inward-curved edges, a stylized flame pattern on the long sides, and a simple decorative slit on the short sides. The hilt's handle had a red wrapping and two light blue tassels attached to the handle's base, which was decorated with a flame design on its short sides. The large size is due to the unfocused but immense amount of Ichigo's spiritual power, which he did not know how to control. As a result, the sword itself was rather weak, since very little spiritual power was used to create it. Nevertheless, it was powerful enough to subdue a Gillian-class Menos and lesser Hollows, completely blocking a Cero from the former. It could upturn the ground with a single strike.[171] Because of the weak nature of its spiritual energy, Byakuya Kuchiki easily cut off most of the blade during his first encounter with Ichigo, and Kisuke Urahara subsequently sliced it down to the hilt during their training, forcing Ichigo to learn the name of his Zanpakutō in order to release its true form. This sword is a result of Rukia's deprived spiritual energy and not a result of Ichigo's own power.[172][173]
Ep20IchigoShikaiZangetsu

Zangetsu's constant Shikai form.

  • () (かい): The Shikai form of Zangetsu resembles an oversized khyber knife instead of a formal katana. It has no tsuba and no proper hilt; what Ichigo holds is the cloth-wrapped tang. The sword is about as tall as Ichigo is,[174] and has a black blade with a silver edge. The cloth wrapping on the tang seems to react to Ichigo's will, changing length at a thought or twining about the blade in an impromptu sheath. When in combat, the cloth falls away when necessary, shrinking back to a manageable size.[175] The cloth can be used to swing the weapon like a flail and to toss it at opponents for mid-range combat,[176][177] as well as bandage wounds,[178] but these are done rarely. Ichigo has, on more than one occasion, used Zangetsu's wide blade as a shield from incoming attacks,[179][180] and for deflecting energy attacks.[181] Unlike most Zanpakutō, which can be sealed into their original form, Zangetsu is always in its Shikai form. Yoruichi Shihōin has stated his Zanpakutō is a full-time released form type because of Ichigo's vast but uncontrollable spiritual energy upon generation of it, implying it is simply a type of Zanpakutō which, without proper control of his spiritual energy, remains in Shikai form once in said state.[182]

Ep361IchigoShinigamiAgain

Zangetsu's Shikai Version 2.

After being influenced by the remaining traces of Ichigo's Fullbring,[183] Zangetsu's appearance changes, giving the blade a silver hilt with gray wrappings, and a short length of chain at its base. The blade itself becomes slightly reshaped, curving inwards at the backside of the tip, similar to a trench knife.[184] When stored away on Ichigo's back, the former cloth still materializes to act as an impromptu sheath.[185]

Ep58IchigoRevealsBankai

Zangetsu's Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu.

  • (ばん) (かい): (てん) () (ざん) (ぐゑつ): Ichigo points his Zanpakutō in a straight direction, using either a single hand or both of his hands, with the cloth of his Shikai surrounding his arm and tightening during the activation. His spiritual power surges, with the smoke obscuring his being.[186] It is considered completely out of the ordinary for any Zanpakutō. Unlike most Bankai forms, which usually create some sort of massive creature or effect, Ichigo's Bankai shrinks his sword down to a daitō (Japanese long sword) with a black blade instead. The cross guard has four prongs bent out to form the shape of the manji (which is the kanji for "ban," meaning "full," as in "full release"). The blade itself can endure even the strongest of attacks, making it quite effective in blocking and deflecting incoming attacks.[187] It can withstand getting crushed by force.[188] The blade is strong and sharp enough to cut clean through Kūgo Ginjō's sword.[189] Commenting on the blade's strength and durability, Gin Ichimaru claimed it felt like his was about to break from hitting it.[190] Instead of the cloth his Shikai form had, a short length of chain with a broken link at the end dangles from the base of the hilt. In addition to his sword, Ichigo's robe is replaced with a long-sleeved, ankle-length black coat (or shihakushō) with red lining, which is closed at his chest and left to flare out into ragged ends, much like that of Zangetsu himself.[191] This coat is part of Ichigo's Bankai, and the damage it can take is directly proportionate to the remaining strength and level of Ichigo's Reiatsu.[192]
Ep308IchigoBankaiTensaZangetsu

Tensa Zangetsu Version 2.

After his training in the Dangai, Ichigo's Bankai takes on a slightly different appearance. While Zangetsu still takes the form of a daitō with a black blade, the four prongs on the cross guard extend out farther than they previously did. While still in the shape of the manji, the prongs become more abstract and slender in appearance. Ichigo's right hand becomes covered by a black glove, and the chain at the base of Zangetsu's hilt extends out further than it previously did, spiraling up the length of his sleeveless right arm, with the additional portion of the chain hanging down freely from his upper arm.[193]

475Ichigo's Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu

Tensa Zangetsu Version 3.

After being influenced by the remaining traces of Ichigo's Fullbring,[183] the appearance of his Bankai changes. He wears a white undershirt beneath his black shihakushō, which is now open. Held together by three "x"-shaped marks, it ends in a number of coattails. Ichigo wears black gloves, with white "x"-shaped marks appear on both the gloves and his forearms. Tensa Zangetsu's blade is much longer (roughly the length of his Shikai), and becomes more curved as it nears the tip, with three protrusions along the blunt end of the sword close to its tip. While retaining its manji-like shape, the tsuba becomes more curved and jagged.[194] Tensa Zangetsu's chain is now longer, attaching to both the base of the sword's hilt and to Ichigo's glove, forming a wide loop.[195]
Bankai Special Ability: Tensa Zangetsu, much like its Shikai form, is used heavily for melee combat, but also possesses a certain special ability.
  • Hyper-Speed Combat: Ichigo takes all the power of his Bankai, compresses it into a small, condensed form, and uses the power of the Bankai to perform high-speed combat.[196] His new speed enhances his Shunpo prowess, allowing him to create dozens of afterimages to confuse his opponent.[197]
  • Enhanced Strength: Ichigo's Bankai further enhances his naturally great strength. He effortlessly blocked a punch from Yammy Llargo, an Espada known primarily for his immense strength, and cut through his Hierro with relative ease.[198] The sudden boost in strength upon releasing allows Ichigo to break free from any attack which binds him or prevents him from moving.[199] After his training in the Dangai, Ichigo's strength drastically increases to the point where a single swing of his sword can level a mountain.[200] He can grab Aizen's Zanpakutō blade with his bare hand without feeling any of the exerted force, though said force could do considerable damage to the surrounding area.[201] He can effortlessly break through Hadō 90. Kurohitsugi, with full incantation, with just his bare hand.[202] After his Shinigami powers are restored, Ichigo can catch a massive blast produced by Kūgo Ginjō's Bankai one-handed and crush it. With only a swing of his sword, he can create a huge shock wave.[203]
Ep139GetsugaTenshō

Enhanced Getsuga Tenshō (Kuroi Getsuga).

  • Enhanced Getsuga Tenshō: Tensa Zangetsu retains the use of Getsuga Tenshō and can be used in the same ways, but in an enhanced form. When used in Bankai, these potent blasts are black with a red outline, their path can be controlled, and they possess explosively augmented power and speed. During Byakuya Kuchiki's fight with Ichigo, he refers to this attack as a "Kuroi Getsuga" (黒い月牙, "Black Moon Fang"), referring to the attack's darkened color.[204] Ichigo has stated the Black Getsuga was originally Hollow Ichigo's technique,[205] which has been proven, as Ichigo had no knowledge of it during his fight with Byakuya Kuchiki, and Hollow Ichigo stated all Ichigo was doing when he used the technique was copying his inner Hollow.[206] Ichigo can keep Getsuga Tenshō within Tensa Zangetsu to augment his sword swings,[207] or fire it from the tip of the blade as if it were a bullet.[208]
Ep373IchigoReiatsuEnraged

An enraged Ichigo exerts his turbulent Reiatsu while using his Bankai.

  • Enhanced Spiritual Power: His already vast spiritual energy increases grandly and explosively. His Reiatsu is so intense and rough, as well as thick and heavy, it can suffocate Humans who are in the general vicinity of his released Bankai.[209] Ichigo's Reiatsu is solid in his Bankai.[210] Initially, when he activated his Bankai, he produced a white aura which shot high into the sky.[211][212] Ever since Ichigo defeated his inner Hollow and affirmed his place as a Visored, he produces a deep black spiritual energy with a crimson outline, which emanates off of Ichigo's body when his spiritual pressure is exerted, replacing his white aura.[213] After his training in the Dangai, Ichigo's ability to sense Reiatsu has increased greatly, as he can now sense his sisters blocks away through various buildings and determine their current status.[214] According to Sōsuke Aizen, by achieving evolution into a dimension separate from Shinigami, both Shinigami and Humans have become unable to feel his Reiatsu unless he voluntarily lowers his level and allows them to interfere, in the same way a two-dimensional being is unable to interfere with a three-dimensional being. In this same way, he surmises Ichigo is standing in a dimension even higher than the one he is in.[215] After Ichigo regains his Shinigami powers for the second time, his Bankai activation reverts back to the way it used to be, shooting a white aura high into the sky. The released energy can break apart Yukio's chatroom, which is said to be indestructible.[216] While in Bankai, Ichigo's Reiatsu turns black, with a blue outline,[217] and when Ichigo is enraged it turns red-black with crackling energy akin to lightning.[218]
  • Enhanced Bankai Duration: Since all of his energy is "compressed", usage of his Bankai does not expel as much spiritual power as other Bankai from the point of activation, allowing him to use Tensa Zangetsu for a much longer duration than any other Bankai users of his level. From his final encounter with Grimmjow in Hueco Mundo until Aizen's defeat, Ichigo continuously stayed in his Bankai state for three months.[219]
Ep309SaigoNoGetsugaTenshō2

Ichigo assuming the form of the Final Getsuga Tenshō.

  • (さい) () (ぐゑつ) () (てん) (しよう): By using this technique, Ichigo becomes Getsuga (月牙, Moon Fang) itself. It is referred to as the Final Getsuga Tenshō because if Ichigo uses it, he loses all of his Shinigami powers.[220] For the duration of the ability, Ichigo's hair becomes waist-length and turns black. Light bluish-gray bandages form around his body, tightly wrapped around his torso, right arm, and face, ending just beneath his eyes. Black flame-like markings spread across his chest and wrap around his left arm, and the remains of a tattered black cloak cover his lower body. In this form, Ichigo's body constantly emits smoky black Reiatsu, most of which is focused around his right arm.[221] Being in this form allows Ichigo to use Mugetsu.[222] Once it is used, the transformation dissipates. He will lose consciousness, accompanied by intense pain, with the loss of his Shinigami powers following. Any remaining Reiatsu stabilizes, and he will awaken sometime later (roughly a month), followed shortly by the loss of his remaining Reiryoku.[223] When Ichigo lost his Reiatsu, a tiny portion of it accumulated in a single location inside of him over time,[224] and he began to regain it slightly after a year and a half.[225] While using this technique, Ichigo's Reiatsu turns completely black.[226]
() (ぐゑつ): Generating a blade of deep black spiritual energy in his hand, Ichigo swings it at the target. Doing so causes a massive veil of black spiritual energy to erupt upwards and approach the target, darkening the sky and heavily damaging anything caught within the blast.[227][228] The energy continues to rise, dissipating into the sky.[229]
Fullbring
Ep351 Fullbring Focus

Ichigo's badge being used as his Fullbring focus.

Initially, Ichigo's Fullbring powers focused on changing the form of his Substitute Shinigami Badge.[230] By recalling the memories of his pride as a Shinigami, Ichigo causes the badge to release black Reiatsu in the shape of the tsuba of Tensa Zangetsu.[231] Like a tsuba, the weapon is used primarily for defense, particularly to block attacks. It can absorb most of the impact from a much larger opponent's attack.[232] Like a real tsuba, it has no cutting power, and if Ichigo releases his hold on the badge, the Reiatsu dissipates.[233]

Ep352IchigoFullbringSecondForm

Ichigo's second Fullbring appearance.

Later, his Fullbring powers evolve so they change his appearance, covering his whole body in a black Reiatsu, and produce a dark blade, forming over his arm.[234] His abilities are classified as a Clad-Type Fullbring because Ichigo is shrouded in his own power, which resembles a Shihakushō, much like his former Bankai.[235]

Ichigo Complete Fullbring

Ichigo's completed Fullbring appearance.

After Ichigo's Fullbring is completed, it transforms into a solid outfit. It becomes a white armor covering his chest, arms, shoulders, and feet, with a stripe running across his face. Underneath this, he wears a completely black bodysuit. The badge grows a medium-sized, black, machete-like blade, with a silver edge, round hilt, simple white cloth-wrapping, and flat base. The badge itself becomes the guard, with a new black cross marking on it. It is hung across Ichigo's back in a white sheath.[236][237]

  • Energy Blast: Using his incomplete Fullbring, Ichigo can unleash spinning, propeller-like blasts of black spiritual energy, outlined in red. Ichigo compares the feeling of using these blasts to that of using Getsuga Tenshō.[238] By charging up this attack, the tsuba becomes bigger and more jagged, with six bars, before launching a larger blast.[239] The attack is flawed, due to its inconsistent power. Its power is determined by the number of blades in it, six being the maximum. If fired in succession, the number of blades decrease, with the attack becoming more fragile with each one it loses. If the attack has anything less than three blades, it can be shattered with ease. Ichigo and Jackie Tristan both conclude if he fires three shots in a row, he leaves himself wide open to attack.[240] With his completed Fullbring, Ichigo can produce the Reiatsu tsuba from his sword's guard-badge and fire a barrage of these blades with a single swing, with each one apparently retaining full power, as none lose any blades. Similar to Getsuga Tenshō, Ichigo can keep the energy of his attacks in his sword to augment his sword swings.[237]
Ep360 Ichigo fires Fullbring Getsuga Tensho

Ichigo's Fullbring version of Getsuga Tenshō.

  • (ぐゑつ) () (てん) (しよう): In his completed Fullbring form, Ichigo can fire off a blue wave of energy from his blade. Though the attack is not as large or powerful as it is with his Shinigami powers, Tsukishima notes how fast it moves, and it can still cause some considerable damage.[241]
  • Enhanced Speed: Through Fullbring, Ichigo can move far more quickly than usual, at one point catching Jackie Tristan off guard by vanishing and appearing behind her with a kick readied. Ichigo's feet emit a flickering Bringer Light, which indicates he is preparing for his next high-speed movement. Jackie Tristan notes the presence of Bringer Light indicates Ichigo is beginning to master Fullbring.[242] Ichigo can draw on the souls of concrete and solid air in order to propel himself higher and at faster speeds.[243] With his complete Fullbring unleashed, Ichigo's speed is enhanced even further, as he got behind Tsukishima and cut off his left arm before he could even attack him.[244] Similar to his Bankai, Ichigo's speed is great enough to produce dozens of afterimages to confuse his enemy.[237] By focusing this power into a single leg, Ichigo can launch a much faster kick with much greater impact.[245]
  • Enhanced Strength: In his complete Fullbring form, Ichigo's strength is greatly enhanced. With a single hand, and from an angle with no leverage, Ichigo caught a direct punch from Sado's fully transformed Brazo Derecha de Gigante unfazed.[246] With a single kick, he can launch his opponent several meters with considerable force.[247]
Hollowfication
Main article: [[ (ざん) (ぱく) (たう)(Zanpakutō spirit)]]
Ep165IchigoHollowMask

Ichigo's original mask.

Hollow Mask: Ichigo's Hollow mask has the appearance of what could best be described as a menacing skull. The mask is white, and originally had only three red stripes on the left side,[248] which have since increased in number.[249] The stripes change in thickness after he subjugates his inner Hollow.[250] It eventually covers almost the entirety of the mask's left half during his third battle with Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez.[251] While pure white on the right side, the mask possesses a total of ten red stripes spread across three spots on the left side of his mask.[252][253]

Ep296IchigoHollowMask

Ichigo's new mask.

Because Ichigo's inner Hollow took a new form while facing Ulquiorra Cifer,[254] Ichigo's mask has changed again. Where his mask once had a series of thick red stripes which covered almost the entire left half of his mask, there are now only two thick vertical black stripes, each on one half of the mask, which are interrupted by the widened eye-holes and the jaw.[255][256]

IchigoMaskingUp

Ichigo donning his mask.

The Hollow mask was originally a sign of Ichigo's possession by his inner Hollow, but after his training with the Visored, it merely indicates he is utilizing his Hollow powers. To access his inner Hollow's power, Ichigo must summon the mask onto his face. He normally does this by placing one of his hands over his face, and concentrating spiritual matter on it in order to manifest the mask (previously, it had appeared on its own before he mastered the Hollow within him), summoning the mask in a "ripping" fashion. With the mask in place, Ichigo's eyes irises become yellow, and he has black sclera and pupils. His voice has a slight Hollow echo to it. With the mask, he gains access to increased physical enhancements. Strangely, though most of the other Visored have been able to shift the position of the mask while apparently still retaining the abilities of their Hollowfied state, as well as using general Hollow abilities, Ichigo has never done either.

Power Augmentation: While wearing the mask, Ichigo's Hollow powers supplement his Shinigami powers, giving him a vast increase in both strength and speed.
  • (ぞう) (きやう) (ぐゑつ) () (てん) (しよう): When Ichigo wears his mask, the power, speed, blast area, force, and size of the Getsuga Tenshō becomes drastically augmented, to the point of seriously harming a foe. When used with his Bankai and Hollow mask in combination, his Getsuga Tenshō is stated to be his ultimate attack.[257] Ichigo's tremendous speed lets him to move faster than the Getsuga Tenshō itself, allowing him to fire multiple blasts from different directions.[258] Ulquiorra Cifer believes the Getsuga Tenshō is Ichigo's strongest attack,[257] comparing it to a Hollow's Cero, particularly a Cero Oscuras.[259] The black Getsuga Tenshō was first displayed by Ichigo's inner Hollow, and initially carried the risk of causing his inner Hollow to surface if used too much.[260] With Ichigo's later control over his inner Hollow, this is no longer a problem.[258] With the use of his new mask, he can fire a Getsuga Tenshō powerful enough to send Yammy Llargo falling down head first while he was in his much larger and stronger Resurrección state,[261] and cut a high-rise building in half.[262]
  • Enhanced Spiritual Power: While wearing the mask, Ichigo's spiritual power increases drastically.[263] Upon witnessing his enormous Reiatsu, one of the Privaron Espada, Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio, described it as amazing.[264] The 4th Espada, Ulquiorra Cifer, stated his Reiatsu was higher than his own (though he also stated it was fluctuating).[265] During Ichigo's fight with Grimmjow, the 3rd Espada, Tier Harribel, note the volume, concentration, and catastrophic nature of his Reiatsu did not seem like that of a Human, but more like that of an Espada.[266] Even Sōsuke Aizen complimented his Reiatsu, stating he had grown.[267] It has been noted multiple times that with the mask on, his spiritual energy changes into something similar to that of a Hollow.[268] Ichigo can use the combined Reiatsu released in his Bankai activation and Hollowfication to launch himself in the air.[269]
  • Enhanced Strength: While using the Hollow mask, Ichigo gains a substantial increase in strength. In his second fight with Grimmjow, he overpowered Grimmjow's Cero.[270] In his third fight with Grimmjow, he blocked the destructive force of an Espada's strongest Cero, the Gran Rey Cero, fired by Grimmjow.[271] After he unleashed his Hollowfication in his battle with Ulquiorra, he slightly broke his sword with a single slash.[272] He effortlessly blocked a Cero fired by Ulquiorra.[273]
  • Enhanced Speed: While wearing his mask, Ichigo's already formidable speed is greatly enhanced. During his second battle against Grimmjow, Ichigo's speed completely overwhelmed the Espada, who was unable to follow Ichigo's movement, and forced him completely on the defensive with his barrage of attacks.[274] His attacks become so fast the opponent cannot even perceive them until after they are hit.[275] He becomes fast enough to outrun his own Getsuga Tenshō, allowing him to strike and enhance them, or launch simultaneous attacks at the opponent from different angles.[258]
  • Enhanced Durability: His durability is increased greatly. During his third fight with Grimmjow, he is thrown through various buildings and obstructions and emerges unharmed.[276] Ichigo shielded Orihime from a barrage of Grimmjow's dart bullets, which have enough destructive force to destroy a large building.[277][278]
  • Mask Regeneration: If Ichigo has enough spiritual power, he can repair small amounts of damage inflicted upon his mask.[279] This is displayed during his third fight with Grimmjow,[280] and during his most recent fight with Ulquiorra.[281]
  • Hollow Combat: When Ichigo fights with his mask on, his fighting style becomes more instinctive than practiced. The Hollow mask makes Ichigo more ruthless, akin to the battle style of Hollow Ichigo. Throughout the duration of the Hollowfication, Ichigo displays less concern for injuries to his person, even ignoring grievous wounds to continue fighting.[282] Ulquiorra Cifer stated Ichigo in this form resembles an Arrancar, and his movements are similar to theirs.[283]
  • Mask Re-Summon: He can call his mask out a second time after it shatters. When used for the first time, the mask immediately broke apart.[284] Later, this is no longer a problem. In his first fight with Ulquiorra, though unseen, it was used to help defend against Ulquiorra's Cero,[285] and again during his final battle with Ulquiorra after the latter entered his released form.[286]

缺點[]

  • Injury Transfer: Whenever Ichigo suffers a injury in his Shinigami form, it is reflected on his Human body when he returns to it, with only sufficient healing being able to rectify or prevent this.[287]
  • Defenseless Body: Each time Ichigo leaves his Human body to enter his Shinigami form without using Kon to animate it, it is left lifeless and defenseless until he can reenter it.[288]
  • Damaging Reiatsu (Formerly): Initially, Ichigo's poor control over his vast Reiatsu caused him to risk severe harm to himself and those around him if he significantly overexerted himself.[289][290]
  • Close-Quarters Disadvantage (Formerly): When wielding his original Zanpakutō, Ichigo risked getting his blade stuck in nearby surfaces while fighting in small or cramped spaces like building hallways.[291]
  • Mask Time Limit: Like all Visored, Ichigo can only keep his Hollow mask summoned for a certain amount of time before it automatically shatters or is intentionally dispersed, though he has been able to drastically increase the time limit through training and combat. Originally, Ichigo was only able to wear the mask for four seconds at a time.[292] After training with the Visored, the limit increased to eleven seconds.[293] His time limit further increased during his third battle with Grimmjow; the reason behind him being able to keep the mask summoned for most of a grueling battle's duration is unknown, but Grimmjow speculated that his improvements came from a subconscious need.[294][295] Once he gained resolve to fight Aizen, Ichigo's final mask was used for a substantial period of time,[296] but began dispersing again once he lost his composure.[297]
  • (きよう) (): Ichigo cannot re-summon his Hollow mask if too much fear lies in his heart. After Ichigo's mask changed in his battle with Yammy Llargo, he noticed his mask felt different, as if it was heavier, and he was unable to re-summon it for a brief period of time.[298] Tensa Zangetsu states the oddities of the new mask come from Ichigo's fear of the Hollow form he took to defeat Ulquiorra, where his sanity was overwhelmed by its power, and he cannot Hollowfy properly.[299]

荳智識[]

  • According to Shonen Jump's character popularity polls, Ichigo was consistently the most popular character in Bleach in the first three polls, but ranked 3rd in the fourth popularity poll. He was ranked 2nd in the tenth.[300]
  • Ichigo's Zanpakutō, Zangetsu, was voted the 3rd most popular Zanpakutō in the Zanpakutō popularity poll,[301] while his Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu, was ranked 10th.[302]
  • As credited by Tite Kubo, his theme music is "News from the Front" by Bad Religion.[8]
  • Ichigo claims his name comes from ichi for first prize and go for guardian angel,[96] though his father told him his name means "he who protects."[303] Using certain kanji (苺), Ichigo's name can mean "strawberry," which led Jidanbō Ikkanzaka to comment that Ichigo has a cute name[304] and Mashiro Kuna to nickname him "Berry-tan"[305][306] while others outright refer to him as "Strawberry" on occasion[307][308] as does the manga itself.[309] Upon hearing his name, Ikkaku Madarame stated men whose names contain the word ichi are often powerful and talented.[310]
    • The number 15 on Ichigo's bedroom door is both a reference to his age and a pun on his name: ichi-go can be read to mean "one-five (一五)".
  • Despite various people noticing how Ichigo resembles Kaien Shiba in looks and personality,[311][312][313] neither Ganju nor Kūkaku, Kaien's siblings, have commented on that.
  • In the manga, after Ichigo sliced of one of Grand Fisher's tentacles, he cut off the Hollow's arm in order to save Karin.[314] In the anime however, Eikichirō Saidō sliced off Grand Fisher's arm instead.[315]
  • In the manga, Kanonji protects Ichigo from the Demi-Hollow and frees the Shinigami's Zanpakutō while inside the abandoned hospital.[316][317] In the anime however, this all takes place on the roof of the hospital, and Kanonji frees Ichigo from being bonded to the railings instead.[318]
  • In the manga, after Ichigo won his battle against Byakuya, he yelled in victory before collapsing.[319] However, in the anime, he yelled in pain instead.[217]
  • There is some inconsistency regarding Ichigo's wounds from training with Hiyori when Orihime arrived at the Visored Warehouse to find him. Though in the anime the wounds aren't visible[320], but between pages in the manga, they aren't initially visible, but then reappear in the next pages.[321]
  • When Ichigo takes a new Hollow form in his fight against Ulquiorra, the chapter sketches reveal his Substitute Shinigami Badge is broken.[322]
  • In chapter 499, Ichigo's Bankai's tsuba seems to revert to its previous form, rather than being curved and jagged.[323][324]
  • Though his Reiatsu is gold in the manga, the anime portrays it as blue.[325][326]
  • In chapter 627, the shoulder pads on Ichigo's new Shinigami outfit appear to be reversed, with the scaled pad appearing on his right shoulder and the normal strap appearing on his left, when he first sees the new Wandenreich city.[327]
  • Ichigo's registry number in Xcution was 007.[328]

倭歌[]

  • "... If fate is a millstone, then we are the grist. There is nothing we can do. So I wish for strength. If I cannot protect them from the wheel, then give me a strong blade, and enough strength... to shatter fate." [329]
  • (くち) () (るき) ()へ)"Are you any different!? You sacrificed yourself to save me that time!! At that time, were you thinking about complicated stuff like "this is my Shinigami duty"!? That's not what sacrificing yourself is!! At the very least, I'm different!! I haven't accepted any commitment. If things get bad, I might run away, since I'm not a good enough person to be able to sacrifice my life for total strangers. But, unfortunately, I'm also not trash that can live happily without paying back his debts!" [330]
  • Acidwireへ)"Big brothers... you know why they're born first? To protect the little ones that come after them!! What kind of brother says that he'll KILL his own sister?! Even a MONSTER shouldn't say that!!" [331]
  • "At first, I thought "I want to protect Mom." The ones to protect increased with the birth of my sisters. I kept going to a dojo for the sake of protecting them. I got a bit stronger. The ones I thought I wanted to protect became more and more." [332]
  • (いし) () () (りゆう)へ)"I'm not superman, so I can't say anything big like I'll protect everyone on earth. I'm not a modest guy who will say it's enough if I can protect as many people as my two hands can handle either. I want to protect a mountain-load of people." [333]
  • () () (やす) (とら)へ)"All right. Let's do this, Chad. You keep doing your thing and don't fight for yourself, but fight for me. And I will fight for you. If you put your life on the line to protect something, then I'll put my life on the line to protect it too." [335]
  • (くち) () (びやく) ()へ)"'Our pride', you said? So that pride you're saying to be so precious, is that connected to killing Rukia? Is it? Then I should stomp on it as you said. 'Cause that's why I obtained this Bankai!" [337]
  • "Damn that Kenpachi! He really went all out chasing me down. That was scary as hell. His Reiatsu was terrifying. To think that I actually defeated someone like that. I don't even believe it myself." [338]
  • ウルキオラシファーへ)"The difference in strength...what about it? Do you think I should give up just because you're stronger than me? I've always known you were strong. Nothing I see now will change my mind. I will defeat you, Ulquiorra." [339]
  • (ウルキオラシファーへ)"The one who sliced off your left arm and leg...was that me, as well? If so, then slice off my left arm and leg. The one who was fighting against you just now was a Hollow form acting whilst I was unconscious. That wasn't me. If we're going to settle this, then it's not fair unless I'm in the same condition as you to begin with!"[340]
  • (ウルキオラシファーへ)"I'm not gonna do that, all right?! What...What kind of screwed-up victory is this?!" [341]
  • Yammy Llargoへ)"'Stands a chance'? It's not like I exactly stood a chance against any of my other enemies, either. I just defeated them because I had to. That's all. You think I care if you're on a different level from the rest of the Espada? It's the same deal. If you're an enemy I have to defeat, I will. That's all." [342]
  • (くろ) (さき) (いつ) (しん)へ)"If you didn't tell me until now, you must have had your reasons. And that's your problem, not mine. I wouldn't know how to start. I can't think of any way of asking that wouldn't mean traipsing all over your feelings and staining them with dirt. So I'll wait. Until you decide someday that you want to tell me, until you decide it's time for me to know. Until that time comes, you don't have to say a thing."[343]
  • (ぎん) (まる) (ぎん)へ)"I'm not saying I don't remember your blade. I'm saying I don't remember your heart. When you cross blades, you can tell a little of what your opponent's thinking. I'm not saying you can read their mind or anything like that, but you can tell what kind of resolve lies behind their blade, whether they respect you or look down on you. That kind of thing, you can tell. When I'm actually fighting, there's no time to think about it, so I don't usually realize until afterwards, but in general, the stronger the opponent is, the more of that "heart" seems to come across."[344]
  • (To himself about his former life)"That's right. It's not like I ever felt superior to anyone else because I could see ghosts. And I never planned to take it up as a profession. Hell, I never even felt the need to use my ability to help others. All I ever wanted was the normal life I couldn't have. I've finally achieved what I always wanted."[345]
  • (ざん) (ぐゑつ)へ)"Zangetsu, I won't ask you to 'lend me your power' any more. And I won't tell you 'don't get in my way'. I won't even say 'let us fight together'. I'll fight for myself. Thank you, Zangetsu. You are me."[346]
  • ユーハヾツハへ)"I came here to stop you. To stop you so that Soul Society, the Human World, and Hueco Mundo could all be kept safe. To protect them all. Even if someone else was able to do it, that wouldn't give me an excuse to run away without trying!"[347]
