Ah, so I guess Orihime outright professing that she would fall in love with Ichigo in every single lifetime she lived and her conflicted feelings about his closeness to Rukia meant...nothing? Just a gag, a prank, a red herring from Kubo?
Do you have an actual rebuttal to what I said or do you run on the logic that all fictional relationships are dictated entirely by plot purposes, with authors never putting in any real reason for two characters to like each other?
I mean, he's handsome, reliable, friendly once you get to know him, kind to people in need, wants to help even if he won't admit it, gets flustered easily by women...it's not really hard to see why she finds him attractive. "Plot" and "Kubo" are the answers of the weak and feeble.
Oh good, another person who chooses to whine on Discussions instead of hashing things out on the literal talk page for an article...
As Rock Lee pointed out above, yes, Byakuya does trash-talk Ichigo multiple times even after the conclusion of Soul Society - a good example of this is when he lets Rukia and Renji go to Hueco Mundo to help him and makes a comment along the lines of "now it's time for the Arrancar to put up with him". Sure, he isn't actively aggressive anymore, but it's not until the Fullbring arc that he declares Ichigo to be a true comrade and TYBW where he finally sets aside his pride to beg Ichigo for help. Sorry not sorry that your headcanon isn't real canon.
Yeah, we don't list long-dead relations. Makes it overly complicated.
Byakuya gets folded like a chair here
He knows karate, but to my knowledge was never formally taught any Hakuda techniques
I agree with Piotr, the connection to me has always been the reflection of Urahara's "thousand plan" nature. His Shikai has the most versatility of any energy-based weapon we've seen in the series - it can create not only Getsuga-like slashing beams, but also nets, explosives, shields, etc. - while his Bankai lets him alter pretty much anything within his reach to better suit his needs and the state of the battle, again letting him adapt to whatever he's up against. Doesn't need to be as surface-level as the others.
We list both numbers for this reason.
Fixed this - the filter was triggered not by a MP link, but by the word "MP" (can't even spell it out here) being present on the page (along with MS and MR). Links are one thing, but it's extremely dumb that we can't even name those sites, and that there's no detection of whether the words/links were added prior to the change...anyway, his talk page can be edited properly now.
What would we even say about it? That Lille knows of a Spanish children's game?
Aside from elements that would later be used in the manga (Katen Kyokotsu, Gonryomaru being a lightning-type), the Zanpakuto arc - while definitely enjoyable - doesn't slot neatly into the manga storyline and timeline, at least not like the Bount arc does. For one, they literally have to cut away from the Fake Karakura Town battle to show it; for two, because of that, several powers and power-ups we hadn't seen until the Arrancar arc (e.g. Sado's Brazo Derecha del Gigante and Brazo Izquierda del Diablo, Ichigo's changed Hollow mask) are on display, but if the characters have them that means they've gone through the events of the Arrancar/Hueco Mundo arc, yet there's literally no time during that latter arc for all this to suddenly take place - the Arrancar don't just pause their campaign and sit around while everyone goes back to Soul Society to deal with Muramasa, then pick up where they left off. That's just how filler arcs go.
@Timjer Well, it's pretty good in the manga too, but the anime certainly drew out and solidified the appeal of it; not entirely sure why that episode got a movie-level animation budget, but I think I would remain as much of a fan of it even if the animation were more standard. It's the concept and Hisagi's dialogue about his Shikai that appeal to me more - the idea of "fearing your blade" being necessary to fight effectively and without getting overconfident, as well as the crazy misdirection of his fighting style. That's why CFYOW deciding it needed a massive retcon into "it's a healing-type chain and the blades are just accessories" is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen; people were asking for Hisagi's Bankai, but I can't think of a single person who was calling for that.
Best Shikai release in the entire series, worst follow-up Bankai anyone's ever thought of
I really doubt that FKT ended in May of 2002 - given the dates and passage of time Kubo sporadically put in the manga, nothing indicates that 7 months pass after the end of Ichigo's training with the Visored. The vast majority of the Arrancar arc takes place in a single day.
The problem with the jump between Fullbring and TYBW being 14 months instead of 2 is, well...the story doesn't feel like it advanced that far. For one thing, everyone who appeared in Fullbring has an identical appearance in TYBW, not looking any older or having changed up their looks as everyone did between Deicide and Fullbring.
Also, I can't find it right now so I won't swear by it as evidence - but I believe there's a line somewhere in TYBW about the events of the Fullbring arc only taking place a couple months ago, or Aizen's defeat taking place about 2 years ago, which is what we used to reinforce the arc taking place in 2003 after first adjusting it to June from Isshin's comment during EBtR.
A slight problem with that is that in TYBW, set in 2003, we're told Masaki's death was 9 years ago, not 8, to fit with the theme of the Kaiser Gesang. The dates we have for the post-timeskip are accurate there, as it's only been a couple months since the Fullbring arc set 17 months after Aizen's defeat.
It's alright, your logic is sound and we want to be accurate.
Okay, fine, whatever, we'll change it.
We just write what Kubo gives us. He tells us he's 15 years old as of mid-May 2001 in the first chapter of the series, then he gives us his birthday later. With the retcon that Masaki's death took place a year earlier than initially presented, the facts still line up - Ichigo turns 16 during the pre-timeskip portion of the arc.
