Peter Sarsgaard wasn't there, it was Geoff Johns, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Reynolds was hilarious and charismatic. Blake was very humble and most of all it looked like they were having a real good time up there.

Martin Campbell can't make a bad movie, and Ryan Reynolds is awesome. I never lost faith in this - I respect what the first trailer was doing (selling this movie to people who weren't automatically going to be interested in it, like comic geeks) , but it's still nice to hear that some "on the fencers" seem more impressed with it now.

Will see it for sure. This and Cap'n America are must sees this summer, and I'm also digging Thor so far. F*** X-Men though, personally. Could not give two damns about that. I'm very disappointed that it's just another "Bryan Singer universe" X-Men movie.

The preview has officially gotten me excited for the movie. I typically see all comic book and game adaptations, just because I'm into them. But after seeing the preview at the convention I was shocked at how awesome it looked. I can't wait.

I'm sorry but Reynolds is horribly miscast here. He should be playing Wally West Flash and Bradley cooper should be Hal Jordan.

From the Director of Goldeneye and Casino Royale, 2 of the best Bond movies ever... Green Lantern has got an excellent chance of being something special. People need to stop shitting on it when it hasn't even been released or seen in full by anyone yet.

Bradley Cooper would have been amazing as Green Lantern.

I agree with Reynolds as Flash. It would fit him, the role of Barry.

I haven't kept up on the Green Lantern back story but didn't Hal become Parallax and tried to recreate the universe?
if anything Ryan would've been a better fit for Kyle

Your right, but they have added to it in recent years. Turns out Parallax is an entity that is the physical embodiment of fear and was being contained in the central power battery by the guardians. This was the cause of the weakness against things that were yellow.

Parallax possessed Hal after his home city of Coast City was destroyed. Hal as Parallax then tried to recreate the universe in the Zero Hour mini series. Then a bunch more stuff went down with Hal dying, becoming the Specter, being resurrected, and then being reinstated in the Green Lantern Corps.

"Another movie that's all spectacle and no content. Kind of like the game industry. Whoops.."

Oh fuck off. It's summer blockbuster season. Spectacle is the only content anyone cares about in a summer blockbuster. Drop the pseudointellectual bullshit and enjoy the spectacle or stay home caress your goatee thoughtfully.

I care a lot about there being more than spectacle in my summer blockbuster. So do most people. Why do you think Iron Man 2, Transformers 2, Wolverine, X3, Spider-Man 3, or any other loathed adaptation is loathed? Because they were all spectacle and no content (I don't agree with that, having loved some of those, but general consensus is that they were awful).

As for you're opinion on the footage, Vejvoda, nothing you said eased my concerns over this. It still looks like an awful Hollywood adaptation of the Hal Jordan character.

Reynolds should have waited for a movie on Dead Pool instead of this Green Lantern movie. I will just wait to see the movie when it comes out to Dish Network.

yay, my first post ever on ign.
anyways, im not sure whether or not the green lantern movie will be any good. i have faith in the director, and the actor choice seems okay. unfortunately, i am not impressed with the graphics, they r obviously fake. i guess i would have to wait until it comes out to see what the world thinks of it.

Im a fan, can't wait. And if it sucks ill just read my trades over and over agian.. Dont know how it can suck though; besides the mass amount of people that know nothing about the GL mythos and come out of the theater scratching thier heads... its green Lantern, one of many stories im shocked right off the bat is even hitting the siver screen at all. Deadpool is violent joke unlike the movie Wolverine, one in whice was a movie geared to middle aged women.. i hope most don't get GL.. cause i do and thats all that matters to me

CBR has the footage. Movie looks awesome, still not gonna see it because I still don't feel like it's a good version of Hal Jordan. Did absolutely nothing to save that.

EDIT:The footage had an Apple logo on the video, so I checked the iTunes Store and it's there for download in 1080p (and below).

EDIT2: Actually, the more I watch it, the more I want to see it (damn you Johns)... I'll just ignore him whenever he says his name is Hal Jordan. Anybody else catch Stel? =D

EDIT3:(for some reason, if you click the link from the article page, it inserts a space in the word "green", remove it and the link is fine)

I'm sorry, but this movie just doesn't look good. Why cast Ryan Reynolds when he is another super hero that currently has a movie planned? I was critical of the choice to cast Chris Evans as Captain america since he was the Human Torch, but at least the Fantastic Four movies were ended (and Chris Evans has exceeded all of my expectations.)

people, shut up about Ryan Reynolds being another super hero.

Harrison Ford was Decker, Indie, and Han Solo!

Robert Downey Jr. is Iron man and Sherlock!

Sylvester Stalone was Judge Dredd, Rambo, and Rocky!

Brad Pitt was Achillies and Sinbad!

Christian Bale played Jesus and Batman!

so whether it's from a comic, a novel, or a myth; actors have play multiple heroes all the time! STFU!

just looks way too cgi'ed to me. Like more of a cartoon than live action. They could have done a better job with the costume too. looks weird....

Multiple heroes, but not Superheroes (my list includes Supervillains and Super-baddass-characters-with-superhero-aspects-but-no-external-undies). Better examples would be Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones *debatable*, Michael Clarke Duncan, Geoffry Rush (I'm counting Barbosa as a super on account of him being a zombie and then getting a full on resurrection), Christian Bale (Jesus really is the first Superhero), and so on. There is precedent. And two of those are in this movie with Reynold, and their casting was hailed.

@maaly81
The special effects aren't finished yet, and CGI can't be used like that. It's an acronym for Computer Generated Imagery. You cannot be computer-generated-imagery'ed. Just doesn't make sense.

looks cool but I'm not sure about the villain because i don't think hector Hammond can carry a whole movie on his own.
