I bought some stuff on Amazon, including gifts for my mom and friend, and two NES games for me:


Blaster Master
Guardian Legend


Both of them I've never played before. Guardian Legend is a game I became interested in recently, while Blaster Master apparently has a huge cult following, yet I've never played the game before. I wasn't even really aware of its existence until I started reading about games online, yet it's considered one of the best games on the NES. I'm looking forward to finally giving it a try soon.

I swear I posted something last night from my cell... but Kurt.. Blaster Master is fun but hard as hell. I finally got my own NES copy last week. I have, however, played it before. It's a good time. I also have Blaster Master Overdrive on Wii.

I'd like to try out other Blaster Master games in the future like the WiiWare game and the game that came out on PSX (I've heard that is pretty decent, and it's cheap as hell), but I consider playing the NES game first to be most important.

Well that sucks. It's disappointing when games constantly hold your hand the whole way through. It just feels like you're going through the motions the whole time.




I went on play-asia and bought

Umihara Kawase Jun Second Edition kanzenban

for the DS. I can't wait for it to come :D

Also, so far Bully is okay. It's a game I've wanted for a while but never got. Arc Rise Fantasia was just an impulse buy. Playing Epic Mickey made me think of Kingdom Hearts and then I felt I wanted an RPG for Wii... So yeah... went and grabbed that and I love it. I'm about 2 hours or so into it. A lot of fun.

I was really interested in Arc Rise Fantasia for awhile, until I heard the English voice acting for the game. It completely turned me off and I decided to not get the game as a result. Since it's release though I've heard from those who didn't happen to boycott the game that it's actually really fun, regardless of the VA quality. Perhaps I should give it a try someday. I suppose I could just mute the voices if they really bothered me.

So why didn't more people boycott Xenosaga? The voice acting in that game was abysmal.

Beats me. I haven't played any Xenosaga games yet, so I can't comment on that series.

What's bad about the map exactly? I'm having a hard time picturing how an RPG map could go wrong.

It tells me to go southeast... so you think run to the bottom right? No... not at all. And then the place you're supposed to go is a tiny white dot. And it doesn't tell you what these dots are (unless you're on the pause menu). So you're just running through these woods trying to find your destination... Turns out, the place I was looking for for about 20 minutes was a damn bridge... It was supposed to be a town... but you just stop at the bridge. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE TOWN... and you could keep going further down, and beyond the bridge? No town. How was I supposed to know? I haven't played the game since. I'm having a blast with Bully, though.

Got my free pokemans at my local gamestoop. I'm so glad I looked up how to unlock the Mystery Gift feature in Pearl last night, or else I would have only gotten one. I can't believe they locked it away in such an obscure location. It's ridiculous. So thanks to that, I just walked into Gamestoop, downloaded shiny Raikou to both Pearl and HeartGold, and walked out. I didn't even have to speak to any of the staff in there. It was quick and painless.

I looked through a Walmart $5 bin and picked out "Super Mario Bros." and a double feature of "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" and some other schmidty-looking title. It was apparently a $9 DVD someone had thrown in the bin, and I saw several copies in there, so I told the clerk that when it rang up for $9 (I was thoroughly confused at the time—I really did think it was $5 and couldn't understand why anyone would price such drivel at 9), and got it for 5, yay :o
