Thanks! Feels good to not only win again but beat the Dodgers at the same time. I'm okay with this current pattern of winning one every 3-6 years. Don't want to get too greedy.
I'm gonna start playing Breath of the Wild later today. Depending on if the game grips me or not I might even start Octopath Traveler too. At some point I'll have to resume Bayonetta 2 as well. Just know that I haven't forgotten about it.
Started playing Octopath Traveler earlier today for a couple hours, plus did another four hour session just now. I'm enjoying it so far. Chose Therion to start off thinking the Thief class would make it easy to accrue materials- it kinda did I guess. Almost missed a poison dagger before leaving that first village, although not having for that first boss still stings a bit. Then decided to go south to pick up Alfyn because the route seemed closer than going north- glad I got him because of healing capabilities. Ended my session by picking up Primrose- definitely the darkest back story so far of the three. Don't know how she plays yet, I'll find that out tomorrow.
After picking up the rest of the crew I wonder if any polls have been taken asking people who they decided to start with first. I'm really curious about that actually.
Question- in BotW, do ores & gems, like Opal & Topaz, have any uses within the game? Or are they solely meant to be sold for gaining currency? If the answer is spoiler-ish, try to let me know in the most subtle way possible.
It was amazing. I’ve been to every show Band-Maid have done in the U.K., and they get better every time. Couldn’t have asked for a better set list, and the girls really gave their all. Was also nice to see them much more confident interacting with foreign fans now. The language barrier is still something of an issue, but they seemed to be having more fun with it now, and have gotten really good at working a crowd in spite of it.
Also met them twice. Once briefly outside the venue, and then again at the actual vip event. Got my picture taken with them, which i’ll try and upload at some point. Also met Studevo their, which was nice. I’ve met a few of my twitter followers at other concerts in the past, but this was my first time meeting anyone I know via ign.
A few pics the band tweeted out earlier today. I prefer to just enjoy the show myself, but there are some good ones here...
Bayonetta 2 is DONE! Played the final six chapters to complete the story, unfortunately I am missing quite a few things, namely the final weapon which somehow I didn't get a single piece of the record. Might be a different way to unlock it that I missed.
Anyway, just playing through the game was just a blast.
The part where you get into a mech suit was just nothing but badassery. Sure it was a bit on the simplistic side in terms of combos but goddamn did it feel good ripping up everything in your path. Hope it comes back in Bayo 3, I really do.
The plot without including spoilers was honestly meh looking back on it, as well as the final antagonist. Luckily that's obviously the game's main focus anyway.
I'll definitely go back to collect stuff I've missed as well as purchase all the items in the game and tackle the higher difficulty levels.
Speaking of difficulty, I do want to address one aspect of the combat that has really bugged me since even the first game- evasion is difficult for me to pull off consistently. Admittedly some of that is just poor timing on my part, but the game's colorful, vibrant visuals are actually conflicting with this- there's so much going on in the game it can be really hard sometimes to tell when an enemy is going to attack. For mobs, they have a flash in their that goes off right before they strike, but in the heat of battle things tend to get muddled very quickly. You never have this kind of issue in any DMC game due to it's more subdued color schemes, plus you have more evasion options at your disposal. I can hope that Bayo 3 subdues the color scheme for either the enemies or for the backgrounds if need be.
Anyway, that's my two cents on the game- a fucking awesome experience! To many other fresh games to go back to it for a long while, but I definitely will. Now we can stop talking about Lady "Dumpster Face" Gaga. *
I thought this day would never come. All it took was the threat of Gaga.
That spoiler part you mentioned really was cool and somewhat unique in the genre in the sense that so much was happening around you. I wish that the combat during it was more fleshed out but that's something they could build on in 3. Here's hoping we see Bayo 3 at The Game Awards.
Anybody looking forward to the Game Awards tonight? I am more than usual now that rumors are swirling that Gearbox might reveal a name, just a name though, for their next Borderlands game. Gearbox is supposedly saving a full reveal trailer for an upcoming PAX event, which they usually do. Of course I'm hoping for Metroid Prime 4 & Bayonetta 2 like other Nintendo fans, but I'm still not convinced those games are coming out next year. By contrast, 2K games is slated to release another high profile title sometime in 2019. In addition, Randy Pitchford stated that the next Borderlands game will release a few months after its initial reveal. So the closer we get to an official reveal the more excited I will get for some sweet, sweet looting.
I actually really wanted them to add Jack Frost as a dlc character. Never expected this. The trailer was very nicely done, and makes it feel like anything’s possible with regards to the remaining announcements.
Suddenly my hopes of a Jill Valentine reveal don’t feel as crazy!
I'll tell you one thing- if Capcom doesn't green light Nintendo to add Dante to the game, and they deny me my Dante Vs. Bayonetta wish, there will be hell to pay.
Thanks guys and merry christmas everyone. Just going to take it easy until this afternoon when I go to my uncle's for dinner. He's getting catered barbecue from our favorite place so that should be real cool.
Quick christmas question for everyone here: what's your favorite christmas song? It can be anything, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this one.
For me it was probably Jingle Bell Rock for the longest time because I associated it with Home Alone so much, but as of the last few weeks it has to be Christmas Wrapping from The Waitresses. As wonderful as christmas day can be there's a lot of stress leading up to it, and I think that song captures all of the uneasiness we feel during this time. It's catchy, it's got some fun saxophone sections and I'd argue it's actually more true now than during the time it was written because things like the internet and 24 hour news didn't exist back then.
You know, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head what Christmas song I like the most. So many of them run together I just kind of drown them out while at work. Jingle Bell Rock is cool, but I guess Santa Baby sounds kinda nice too- the rhythm of the song I mean, not so much the lyrics lol.
Santa Baby is a good one. I actually liked the lyrics even as a kid because it was this girl asking for everything under the sun which I found to be funny.
I'd be interested to hear what Kamu has to say. It's been kind of a weird year for me with what music I've listened to and I'd be interested to see what my top 10 played on Spotify will be at the end of the year. Probably a lot of The Consouls and a few hip hop tracks from some older artists whom I just discovered this year (namely Oh No and Alchemist whom are probably most known for working on the soundtrack from GTAV).
I havent played DQXI but I did enjoy some of the screenshots Sien shared on PSN. It's interesting how those can pique my interest towards certain games and I know it was a big part of me checking out AC Odyssey.

Just went and looked through my uploaded pics, forgot how many I posted of Odyssey and DQ11. Probably could have posted like a 100 DQ11 screenshots and it still wouldnt have shown how much I love it.
In terms of Christmas songs, these two are my favourites. Probably because they’re both a bit unorthodox in how they express their festive message, yet both still offer a positive, and less commercialised theme, that I can totally get behind.
I do enjoy Smash. But unlocking characters via classic mode can go to hell. They up the computer level way beyond the intensity level you finish at. Plus, they cheat. Naturally, I dont question my skill as that would be silly.

When Nintendo said that the unlocking process would be streamlined I assumed that something highly lenient like a five minute time limit would count. 20 minutes is absurd considering you have to unlock 64 characters. I used the exploit to unlock everyone in two hours because screw having to spend ten times that amount of time to get access to everyone.
Crap, I forgot you were facing the Bruins in the Finals. In the interest of fairness I should be wishing Dante luck as well...but between the Patriots & Red Sox that guy has enough already, so SCREW THAT GUY! *
