This was the first one that started the whole franchise, with Altair. Being a sucker for stealth games, this was right up my alley. Some parts of the game were quite repetitive but looking back you know this really was early days to what would become of this franchise. Still Altair def one of the better protagonists for this series

Believe it or not this was the first ever RPG I played and what a great world to get lost into. Was a big learning curve for me, but great character design and world building sucked me in.

Straightforward couch co-op. If you liked first game you will like this.
Coop has good puzzles that force you to work together.

This was a fresh take on the franchise visually speaking. I grew up playing Street Fighter 1-2 in the arcades and was a fan of all the characters (I even watched the movie don't ask!)
But yeah the game adopts a watercolor style graphics which was awesome especially seeing the combo fight effects. Oh yeah and the ending song 'Invincible' was a nice touch too.

So after finishing Hades, I went ahead and grabbed all of Supergiant's games as I really wanted to play their back catalogue after Hades (thts how good it is)
I started with Transistor and the immediate connection is the art style. For a game that's 10 years old, the benefit of having beautiful 2D art holds till today. I wouldn't say the story is anything too spectacular, but the turn based gameplay is quite addictive. With all the different function combinations, recursing through the story again made me achieve a rewarding Platinum.

Only play this if you are a fan of the Invincible tv show and comics.
Decent visual novel which I started on pc and finished on Steam Deck. Colors really pop on the SD OLED.
Wish there was more varied turn based combat

This is an awesome game that started a franchise and what drew me to it was the comic book artstyle used for all its cut scenes (I had the special edition which was great for the artwork)
Interesting part of this game was that you gain these super powers but could choose how you wanted to play the game, either in a 'good' or 'evil' style. Def made things interesting.
Its a shame that the first two games are locked on the PS3 due to its hardware.

Well these kinda games were all the rage towards the late 2000s. Guitar Hero III was my introduction to it all. Stuck in an industrial town with no internet, this game was the gateway for me to discover many new bands and I ate it up.
Soundtrack licensing was solid and played it over many times just to master some songs and basically hear the tracks again haha

Played this game in high school and was my first ever RTS style of game. In fact, beat the whole game 4 times. Live-action cut scenes with actors was something new and the whole strategy of using different troop types (the spies!) to steal and advance different technologies in the game really changed the playstyle and kept you coming back for more.
Those short skirmish matches were a lot of fun too.

This was the first ever co-op game the Mrs and myself played. Playing the ultimate evil edition is the best package, longer campaign and characters.
But it was a lot less darker and grimmer than D2 and having played both, I can see how the community has been divided.

Ok so I first started playing Diablo 2 when I was in high school, but for whatever reason lost my save and never went back to it.
Then a few years ago they announced Diablo II Resurrected. I knew I had to come back to it. Esp cause they had a legacy toggle to switch from the newer graphics to the older style. Nostalgia tick. The Mrs. and myself played this couch co-op sinking many hours into this dark demon infested dungeon crawler.
Duriel is def the toughest boss in the whole game which will have you throwing your controller around the room in rage.

So after about 12 years since I played the first entry in the series, I happened to get Gamepass for about 3 months and thought I would check his out, as it was the latest game in the series although not a direct sequel. Played it on Gamepass Ultimate (PC/ S9+ Razer Kishi)
It was a turn based (hence the name Tactics) gears game.
It got a bit repetitive after a few hours. Just played to finish it tbh.

So this was a game I was so glad to get a PC port for. It was probably my first co-op campaign I ever played, my mate on one pc and me on the other connected with LAN cables. It was fun running and gunning alien scum together, plus all the 90s style action and dialogues.
Wish they ported the rest of the series, but I guess Microsoft were looking for an exclusive for the Xbox and this definitely gave birth to a long running franchise

OK so I somehow missed out on Brutal Legend when it came out, mostly cause I had to pick what I cud play and the mixed reviews.
After getting my SD in 2024 this was the 2nd game I completed as it was sitting in my library. If you're a heavy metal fan then play it as it's filled with glorious cheese. And voice acting n soundtrack is top notch.
But as a seasoned gamer, I can say that the game mechanics lack a lot and the graphics have aged very poorly.
That being said if they release a sequel now, I would play it just to get my cheese fix \m/

This is a true visual graphic novel.
If anyone asks you to explain to them the story of MGS, point them to this novel. Period.
Of course, playing the game is the best way to experience it, but for those of us leading busy lives and never had a chance to dip our toes into the MGS franchise, this will def serve as a starting point.

This was a free game I downloaded after I bought my Steam Deck.
Set in the world of Portal, it instantly took me back and served as a clever demo game/user guide for the Steam Deck. We're never gonna get Portal 3, so I'll take what I can get even if it was only 32 min long (seriously wish it were longer!)
Even Astro's Playroom for the Ps5 was a couple of hours long

If the first Spiderman and the follow up Miles Morales knocked it outta the park, there really is not much to say about this game. It takes the first two and combines it where you get to play as both Spidermen with shared storylines. Switching between characters is quite seamless as well. Traversal was excellent in the first two games and the addition of web wings adds to the joy of traversal without making things monotonous. Graphics once again stand out and Venom was quite an enjoyable part of the game as was Kraven. Insomniac has really used the Marvel money to make a blockbuster game, once again!
Oh and once again happy to report that getting a Platinum in this game was a fun and straightforward experience. 😎🤘

This game continues the adventures of Adam Jensen, in fast paced, slick action role playing style. A worthy sequel.
