Immortals of Aveum Review
great
Immortals of Aveum is an impressively confident first-person shooter with a hearty solo campaign and fast-paced, spellcasting combat that’s spectacular to watch.

The game is as generic as it's title. Lackluster shooting mechanics of quick swapping between three guns (but all in sparkly colours) doesn't particularly amount to much.
Then slap this game into the most mediocre fantasy world you can think of, good guys in silver, bad guys with spikey glowy red bits, long complicated names that sounds like someone vomited alphabet spaghetti the whole shabam.
Add some painfully cringey writing on top of our best of booktok fantasy world and you have our game! Sadly I went in with high hopes, but suffice to say there is nothing here at all that other games are doing better.
I definitely think this is an under-appreciated game. Just came out at a bad time. The combat and writing are fun. The FPS mechanics are fantastic and innovative being based around different forms of magic. The voice acting was SPOT ON. The length of story was perfect and for players who want to go deeper and 100% complete it, there’s loads of puzzles and exploration for that. That level design is quite marvelous and I think this game should receive the flowers it deserves. I’d be interested to see another installment in this series.

This game deserves more love. The game play and guns are fun. The game is balanced and well laid out so that you as a player always know where to go.
Also, the movement is really fun. The skill tree actually makes sense!
Fun game for FPS and Action fans.
Great game for action fans! My only real gripe is not being able to skip cut scenes.

Very good fast action focused spellcrafting game. Must try.
I'll start off by saying that I played this on PC and did encounter a few issues with performance. Frame rate drops and crashes. However, this did not ruin the game. Great story and great gameplay mechanics. Found myself really invested in this game right through to the final scene. Definitely recommend this game.
You owe it to yourself to play this game. The story is great. The acting is amazing and the end battle graphics is insane

Great shooting mechanics. Think call of duty with spells. if you like shooters and pretty colors you will like this game!
This could've been "fingerguns - the game" but winds up being more than that pretty quickly. The familiar mechanics and story beats aren't glossed over. If anything, the humor in the dialog might strike some as a little too on-the-nose but it's refreshing to have those kind of responses from the characters but also not be pushed artificially into situations like having a character comment every time they see something that stands out in a game, and not be condescended to by writing that assumes you've never read or watched anything at all. When something stood out as a plot point, the characters didn't spend a ton of time trying to set plotlines and MacGuffins. And then when plot points pay off later on, if it's an obvious reveal, no one makes it seem like you were supposed to be shocked. Likewise, not every surprise is made out to be something we were supposed to have already pieced together. Minor difficulty spikes later in the game and a few non-gamebreaking glitches during Boss fights are my only issues. It can be easy to clip through some of the larger bosses when they crowd you. I imagine better gamers than I am could probably use that as an exploit because there is a point during the glitch before you get stuck but after you are covered, I just didn't have enough chances to see if I could pop in and out consistently or if I had actually experienced 2 discrete bugs. The accessibility settings could be more robust but at least cover the basics for colorblind modes and subtitles, I'm partial to customization options in control schemes that this game does not have but I know that's not exactly standard. Speaking of standard mechanics in FPS games, this one lacks an ADS mechanic (unless I just missed it somehow) and of the classes of "fingergun", sniper rifle was not included as a one-off. I hate FPS games without ADS mechanics and no snipers but I loved Immortals of Aveum and if we get more from that universe, I'll be first in line 8.75 out of 10.
It takes a bit to settle into the world/lore. But once you do it's a fun story with twists and turns. It doesn't take itself too serious and it's not overly goofy. Perfect balance
MUST PLAY. GET IT NOW. just maybe not for people under 15 because it said the f word like 30 times, the sh word like 50 times, and the b word 20 times. And sometimes blood stains appear when people get killed, blood on walls, ground and spilling out of people, and one part someone's head popped off. And there are scenes of people beating up innocent people, and people getting bombed, and there are some milder words like hell and crap, but it is such a good game. (and i am under 15 but whatever)
