Plot summary[]

JOURNEY TO STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER –
ALLEGIANCE
Part IV
A RISING TIDE
In desperate need of aid to fight the evil First Order,
Resistance General Leia Organa traveled to Mon Cala to
recruit her old Rebellion allies into the fight. But some of
Nossor Ri and Chadkol Gee's isolationist Quarren attacked
Leia's group, and Rey, Rose and Chewie were arrested. The
only way to regain their freedom—trial by combat.

Meanwhile, on the Moon of Avedot, Resistance fighters Finn
and Poe Dameron were after weapons to arm the dwindling
Resistance but were ambushed by a trio of merciless bounty
hunters, intent on taking Finn to the First Order.

Locked in battle with Chadkol's security droid, Rey gained
the upper hand. That is until the droid turned on the trial's
spectators. Rose stepped in to help Rey, in turn breaking a
sacred rule and exiling them all from the watery world. But
before they could leave a Quarren dropped off a mysterious
container—which exploded....

Pursuing the saboteur[]

On Mon Cala's Dac City, Aftab Ackbar surveys the burning wrecked of the shuttle. He believes that General Leia Organa and her Resistance followers have perished. To his relief, he discovers that Rey Skywalker has used the Force to shield them from the explosion and resulting debris. Spotting the Quarren saboteur fleeing, Rey tasks Chewbacca with protecting the General while she and Rose Tico pursues the saboteur. C-3PO also volunteers to help guard the General.

Rose borrows a speeder bike from a Mon Calamari officer. The Quarren flees through the marketplace and attempts to reach the water. Rose accidentally collides with a Mon Calamari parent and their child. Before the Quarren saboteur can escape, Rose rams the speeder bike into him, knocking hi into a crate of crustaceans. When a Mon Calamari merchant asks who is going to pay for the damage, Rey replies that she can put it all on the tab of Chadkol Gee and vows to make him pay for his crimes.

Firefight[]

Meanwhile on Base 354-23X, Poe Dameron has finished loading the first crates of New Republic weapons aboard their transport. Poe has also accidentally tricked the bounty hunters' ship into moving into his position. Poe contacts Finn via comlink and manages to awake him. Finn says he has everything under control but Wooro begins to stir. Meanwhile, Poe comes under fire from Kendoh Voss and grumbles at BB-8 for not warning him.

Meanwhile, Basso Mak uses his starship to block Finn's escape from the hangar. Basso strafes the hangar and Finn dodges enemy fire. Poe tells BB-8 that they must get past the assassin and extract Finn before he gets himself in further trouble. BB-8 tells Poe in binary that he has gotten the situation under control. BB-8 dodges fire from Kendoh, who seeks to collect a second First Order bounty on Poe. However, BB-8 hurls a grenade at her, forcing her to jump out of harm's way.

Poe and BB-8 climb aboard the Resistance ship. Over the comlink, he tells Finn to get past the bounty hunters and meet him outside the hangar before the base is destroyed. Poe wonders how he can escape while dodging Basso's laser fire.

Choosing forgiveness[]

Elsewhere, a fleet of First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyers arrives above Mon Cala. Leia and her followers learn about the First Order armada. C-3PO panics but General Organa orders him and Chewbacca to prepare the Millennium Falcon for evacuation. Rose tells Organa that they have to get her to the Falcon but the General insists on not leaving until they have acquired the Mon Calamari starships.

In the throne room, King Ech-Char deals with the assassination attempt on General Organa and the First Order armada. Nossor Ri attempts to blame General Organa and the Resistance for leading the First Order Star Destroyers to Mon Cala. However, Aftab and Leia point out that they have evidence that his protégé Chadkol Gee hired the saboteur who attempted to assassinate Leia. Leia adds that the saboteur also served as Chadkol's personal attendant and can testify that Chadkol alerted the First Order to their presence.

When confronted by King Ech-Char, Chadkol responds that he was motivated by love for Mon Cala and memories of the Imperial occupation. Ech-Char denounces Chadkol for his treason and vows to punish him. Leia pleads with King Ech-Char to show grace, stating that now is not the time for recriminations. She gives a speech urging the Mon Calamari and Quarren to rekindle their alliance with the Resistance and to provide them with the ships that the Resistance navy needs. She begs them to make a "terrible sacrifice" while reflecting on her own sacrifices including the destruction of Alderaan and the death of her husband Han Solo at the hands of Kylo Ren.

Choosing forgiveness, she frees the Quarren saboteur and urges them to focus on fighting the First Order. King Ech-Char is moved by Leia's words and agrees to give the Resistance the ships they need. However, he fears that they cannot break the First Order blockade. A remorseful Nossor Ri decides to atone for the sins of his soldier.

Escaping the bounty hunters[]

Back at Base 354-23X, Remex Io grumbles that Basso Mak is being reckless with their Resistance quarry. Kendoh realizes that the base is sitting on a cache of ammunition and detonators and orders Basso to evacuate. Before he can do so, Finn rams the T-47 airspeeder into the bounty hunter's ship, killing Basso and damaging the bounty hunter's ship in an explosion. Finn ejects but finds that the ejection seat's thrusters are not working.

In response, Poe tells BB-8 to pop the canopy and eject the passenger seat. With BB-8's help, he maneuvers his ship below the trajectory of Finn's ejection seat. Finn's ejection seat lands in the passenger compartment of Poe's ship. When Finn asks if they got the weapons, Finn replies that they got most of the weapons and survived doing it. He says that there is good enough reason to celebrate.

Meanwhile, the bounty hunters commiserate over their lost bounties. Io grumbles that they have lost their money. Kendoh replies that it could have been worst, prompting Io to remind her that the First Order will be hunting them down for their failures. Kendoh says that with Basso dead, they should have enough rations to survive long enough to repair their ship and move onto their plan to steal the Sword of Khashyun. She orders Io and Wooro to get to work.

Escaping the First Order[]

Above Mon Cala, General Armitage Hux receives word from his crew that a Mon Calamari fighter is approaching their fleet. Nossor Ri pilots the fighter, leading several TIE/fo space superiority fighters on a chase. Before he is taken out by Hux's Star Destroyer, Ri vows to fight for Mon Cala until the death. Hux realizes that Ri's last stand was a distraction while a First Order officer detects ships approaching from the far side of the planet.

With the First Order distracted, General Organa and Aftab lead the Mon Calamari ships to escape into hyperspace. Though the First Order destroys a MG-100 StarFortress SF-17, the rest of the fleet manages to jump into hyperspace. Aboard the Falcon, Rey says that General Nossor Ri's sacrifice worked. Leia responds that his death will be the first of many sacrifices to come.

A furious General Hux decides to punish the planet Mon Cala for siding with the Resistance. He vows to show the galaxy what happens to those who side against their enemies. TIE fighters and stormtroopers descend on the planet. At Dac City, Chadkol and his family huddle as a stormtrooper approaches them. Chadkol says that he warned that the Resistance would bring war to Mon Cala repeatedly.

Continuity[]

Allegiance 4 leads in to the events of Sacks's previous Star Wars series, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with the Kendoh Gang pursuing the Sword of Khashyun.[3]
