SpongeBot is a robot form of SpongeBob who appears in the episode "Welcome to Binary Bottom." He lives in Binary Bottom, with his pet RoboGary.

Description[]

SpongeBot is a robot lookalike of SpongeBob. He has a metallic, brown body and dark-gray pants, a cone-shaped nose, and wheels for feet. He is able to retract appendages into his body, such as spoons and pneumatic hoses. SpongeBot speaks in a robotic voice, which sometimes glitches and stutters.

Role in episode[]

SpongeBot wakes up in the morning, plugged into bed and missing multiple features. He wheels himself to the bathroom, where hands come out of the mirror and put the rest of his body on. SpongeBot then has breakfast, emitting nuts, bolts, and oil from a tube in his head. RoboGary comes in, and SpongeBot gives him some of his breakfast. SpongeBot then plays with RoboGary by using his nose as a laser pointer.

An alarm comes in and alerts SpongeBot that it is time for him to work. He stops playing with RoboGary and goes to the front door. While SpongeBot is commanding his robotic hat where to go, RoboGary opens his back and jumps inside of him. Unaware, SpongeBot greets his neighbor, SquidBot, before going to work for the day.

While working at The Krabby Battery, Gary jumps out of him to try one of the batteries, but gets stuck onto SquidBot, after which he runs out of the restaurant, prompting SpongeBot to chase after him to the Lube Lagoon. He later comes up with a plan to stop him with a brick wall, which results in him breaking through it and falling into the lagoon. However, Sandroid, who was awoken by Gary shortly before this, assimilates him and other Binary Bottomites into her new body.
