Description[]

SpongeBob's shoes are black leather shoes with white laces. They are known to make a squeaking sound when he walks. In The Patrick Star Show, the shoes are white.

Role in series[]

The shoes' first major role was in "Your Shoe's Untied," where SpongeBob forgets how to tie the laces.

The shoes' second major role was in "Cave Dwelling Sponge," where the shoes' squeaking attracts a cave sponge named Spongy Spongy.

Trivia[]

• "Don't Wake Patrick," "High Sea Diving," and "Welcome to Binary Bottom" are currently the only episodes where SpongeBob isn't seen with them on.
• In "The Secret Box," it is revealed he sleeps with them on. A later scene in the episode confirms this.
• SpongeBob so far has worn them with a different outfit over the course of the series. He wears them with his swimsuit in "Ripped Pants," "Walking Small," "Clams," "Bubble Buddy," "SpongeGuard on Duty," "Hocus Pocus," "A Life in a Day," "Sun Bleached," "Sand Castles in the Sand," and "Sandy's Nutty Nieces."
