Pretty Patties was a roadside stand on Conch Street that SpongeBob used to own. Its operation was also helped by Patrick. It appears in the episode "Patty Hype" and the book Who's Hungry?, and was located between SpongeBob and Squidward's houses.

Description[]

It is a violet metal stand that reads its name in purple writing and has a white tablecloth on top. After it becomes popular, several hundreds of Pretty Patties are stacked behind it.

Inspiration[]

After 36 days with no customers, Mr. Krabs runs out of ideas to attract customers. Incidental 6 and Fred do not want to eat at the Krusty Krab because the Shell Shack has a promotional talking dog who sings. SpongeBob suggests that the Krusty Krab sell "Pretty Patties," which are Krabby Patties dyed in an array of colors. When Mr. Krabs rejects the idea, SpongeBob and Patrick partner up to open a roadside stand of their own on Conch Street.

After seeing a news story on TV, Mr. Krabs trades the Krusty Krab for the stand.

Success[]

The store becomes a big hit as over 46,853 people were lined up at the stand. The Pretty Patties are king of the Bikini Bottom Food Chain. The stand is so profitable that SpongeBob and Patrick do not know what to do with the money. They first try burying it, shredding it, and burning it, but, eventually, they decide to give it away. This is done next to the Pretty Patties stand and customers could wait in line as often as they liked.

Downfall[]

On the morning of the stand's second day of operation, a horde of unsatisfied customers demand a refund due to side effects received after eating Pretty Patties. One customer's face had turned purple, another had a plaid stain under his kilt, and three had different colors on their tongues. Mr. Krabs flees to the Krusty Krab, only to find the doors locked and SpongeBob too busy squeaking pickles together. With no staff to oversee its operation, the stand shuts down soon after.
