Rumor: New Battlefield Game Casting Call Reveals Plot Details

New Battlefield Game

While publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed that a new Battlefield game is in development, there’s no actual details known about it yet. Heck, the studio developing its single-player campaign has come and gone without us even knowing what the premise of the campaign was, or how far along they were with it.

It seems that the first details of the game has surfaced. and it’s thanks to a casting call for the game. On the Actors Access website (login required), which was spotted by Reddit user KekanKok, it lists EA is looking an actress for the project “Timeless Fields,” which is an “action/adventure military-themed game.” Given EA has no actual franchise or known property that’s “military-themed” other than Battlefield, well, you can put two and two together, right?

The casting for the role mentions:

Rozonda

25 – 35, Slavic woman. Accent: Authentic Croatian, Bosnian, or Serbian. Special Forces Operator. Rozonda was always the outcast as the child of two different ethnic backgrounds in Croatia. A tactician of remarkable mental and physical courage. She commands respect and attention. Can be impatient and despises weakness. Fit, athletic, and able to move with a prop weapon easily. Required: Must speak Croatian And/or Bosnian and/or Serbian.

Of course, there is the possibility that this is for an entirely new game and not for Battlefield, though logical deduction suggests otherwise. If this is indeed for the new Battlefield game currently in development, then that means the game will involve the countries or nationalities mentioned in the casting call job listing.

There is also the possibility that this could be for a character in the game’s multiplayer, but given how lackluster the reception was for Battlefield 2042’s Specialists, I really, really doubt DICE (or EA) would consider going that route again. Of course, stranger things have happened, but here’s to hoping we won’t see hero-like characters in the next Battlefield game.

For those wondering if this means EA is just developing the game, the casting call was posted back in September 2023, so this slot could be already filled up, and doesn’t really mean DICE and the other studios working on the next iteration of the franchise has just started fielding actors and actresses for various roles.

Another tidbit we know of the in-development Battlefield game is that EA has hired ex-military personnel to help develop it.
