How does health work in Helldivers 2?
Enemies (and other objects) have a total health.
The enemy is made up of different body parts, i.e. the head, the legs, the torso, that have different armor, health, and various properties, with the main ones being:
- Health : most body parts have a health component, some do not (signified by -1 in the table below). When you deal enough damage, this body part is destroyed.
- % to main : damage to this body part only affects the main health by a %. i.e. if you deal 100 damage, and the % to main health is 30%, you'll only do 30 damage to the enemies total health.
- Armor : determines if damage is reflected off. If Armor > Armor Penetration, then no damage is dealt and projectiles bounce off. If Armor == Armor Penetation, then only 50% of damage is dealth. If Armor < Armor Penetration, then 100% of damage is dealt.
- Durability : determines how much durable damage is dealt, scaled linearly between normal damage and durable damage. i.e. if you deal 100 normal damage, and 200 durable damage, and the body part is 85% durable, you'll deal 185 damage.
