Professor Vince MacDonell is an unseen character in the Guilty Gear series, and a historical figure who once was part of the Gear Project, being its founder as well as one of its director, overseeing its early stages.

Story[]

Born sometime in the 20th century,[2] Vince MacDonell was a professor at an American university, and the world's leading authority on cellular mechanics. He taught Frederick Bulsara, That Man, and Aria Hale.[1] In 2014, he founded[1] a scientific undertaking known as the Ecosystem Evolution Project,[3] which initially began with the hope of creating cells that could cure terminal diseases around the world[4] in an attempt to create a more "complete" life form.[3] As its director,[1] it presumably was Vince who hired his former students upon their graduation.[5]

During the early stages of the project,[1] in early 2014, his team completed a theoretical assessment,[6] thanks to That Man,[7] of a very special type of stem cell[4] that they called "Gear cells".[6] By November 13 of that same year, Vince was still the director of the project,[8] but for unknown reasons, by 2016 he eventually left his position to That Man.
