Editing Jump right in! Do not be afraid to get started. Anyone is free to edit here once they have created a Fandom account, so simply click edit and get started! Collaboration is KeyWikis are based on the idea that the crowd, collectively, has a greater sum of knowledge than just one individual. That means collaborating with others is the key to creating a successful community. Collaboration means you work together to build, design, and make decisions. No one person owns or rules a community site. Rather, it is built, supported, and owned by all participating community members. Practice Open-Mindedness & Assume Good FaithSince sites are open for anyone to edit, users of all skill levels and opinions are welcome to participate. We assume that most people who work on a wiki are trying to help it, not hurt it. If this were not true, wikis would be doomed from the beginning. If you think there is a problem, it is best to ask the user about the issue first and then take any additional steps if necessary. The same practices can apply to users who visit the site to discuss, read, and comment on a page. Everyone has differing opinions and perspectives on topics, so please practice open-mindedness and assume that not everything out there is written with ill intent. Ask for Help If you are confused or need help, just ask! There are a lot of places to seek help all around you on Fandom, including our help pages, Central forums, local admins, and staff. No question is too small! Our local administrators and moderators can be found on this page. Talk PagesTalk pages can be used as an alternative form of communication when it comes to editing discussion. However, we do still recommend editors to discuss upcoming changes on our Discord Server. Talk pages can be created under the dropdown menu on the top right of each page and are created in the Talk: namespace. Talk pages are not intended for commenting or general discussion use. They are only intended for editing discussion use, so please do not abuse the Talk page functionality for unrelated matters. User PagesUsers of the wiki are welcome to customize their user pages (pages in the User: namespace) with fun and creative designs, ranging from displays that showcase their progress throughout Genshin Impact, to team showcases and custom character designs. User pages are allowed to have custom images and videos uploaded to them, but please note that the community rules, such as those regarding inappropriate content, are still enforced on user pages. When customizing your user page, please be mindful to not block any of the wiki's features, such as buttons and navigation menus. Any user pages that have custom designs that block wiki functionality are subject to be modified or deleted. If you are customizing your user page with designs that are meant to mimic pages that exist on the wiki, such as a user page that showcases your custom character, please do not use templates that are intended for use by articles in the main namespace. Instead, refer to the custom User Page Templates that are meant to be used on user pages. Reporting ContentOur staff of volunteers may not always be available to respond immediately to any offending content that gets posted to the site. If you see any offending posts or comments that have been made which infringe upon our listed guidelines, please report the post so our staff can review the post in question. All reported posts will be reviewed by our staff, and corrective action will be taken if necessary. Please note that abuse of the report system, which includes unjustified reporting, is not tolerated, and users who abuse the report system may be subject to consequences. Leaked ContentThe following list contains all content that is considered leaked, and therefore prohibited:
Speculation should only be substantiated with evidence that is based from the currently available content. Users should not base their speculations from previous leaks, or from "rumors" surrounding leaks. If one does not support their opinions or theories with evidence based from available content, the post is subject to deletion, and the user may be warned. If you have any questions, please ask a Content Moderator or Administrator before editing or uploading, or else your edits/content will be reverted/deleted. Editing ConflictIf you do not agree with a certain edit being made to a page, you are allowed to undo the edit and provide a reasonable argument as to why that edit should not be implemented. If the topic is still contentious, users should utilize a Message Wall, Talk Pages, or the wiki's Discord Server to reach an agreement, instead of communicating solely via edit summaries. More editors can be involved in the discussion to achieve consensus if necessary. Repeated overriding each other's edits is considered edit warring and not allowed, even if accompanied by edit summaries. In the event of a counter-productive edit war, the page may be temporarily locked, and the users involved may be warned. Disruptive EditingDisruptive editing is a pattern of editing that disrupts progress towards the project and community's goal, which the editor in question may or may not be aware of. There may be multiple reasons for disruptive behavior: editors may not know that their edits are counter-productive, they do not have sufficient social skills to communicate effectively with other editors, or they do not have the competence necessary to work collaboratively. Despite their sincere effort to help, their pattern of editing is ultimately harmful to the project. It undermines the wiki's goal to be a reliable source of information for Genshin Impact, and it exhausts the patience of rule-abiding, productive editors, who often have to spend time cleaning up after disruptive editors. Citation and PlagiarismPlease follow citation practices and cite content and the authors properly if you are bringing content to Fandom or taking it from here to another site. Make sure you have permission to use something before you copy it, and follow the rules for attribution when you do reuse. Everyone likes credit for their hard work! For more information on how to cite, please read the documentation for Help:Cite. Community GuidelinesThe Community Guidelines encompass both the Genshin Impact Discussions section and the Comments section of the site. In addition to the topics above, we ask that all users read and abide by the following guidelines. Behavior Be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions. Posts that express criticisms are allowed; posts that deliberately incur flame wars are strictly prohibited and will be deleted. Posts that express disagreements of a user are allowed; posts that berate or insult a user in said disagreement are strictly prohibited. Please refrain from using profanity on the site. If your post or comment is found to have used unnecessary profanity, the post or comment in question is subject to modification or deletion, and the user may be warned. If someone is making disrespectful comments towards you or other users, please use the report function, and one of the Content or Thread Moderators will take a look at the offending post. Engaging in flame wars with other users is highly discouraged and will likely result in all users participating in the toxicity receiving a warning. User walls are not exempt from this rule, and you will be warned if you are attacking someone on their user wall. Do not make posts personal or post personal information. Wikis are meant to be a place to collaborate with others on topics that excite you. Pages meant just as an attack on someone will be removed. This includes content posted in articles and user pages as well as messages to other users. It also includes threats towards miHoYo, the characters, or other players. Harassment Please refrain from attacking users on their message wall or editing their profile page in a malicious manner. If you have an issue with a certain user, please contact the administrators or moderators about the issue. Users should not attack, instigate, or incur drama with other users in the comments and discussions section. Discussion EtiquetteWhen making a discussion post, please categorize the post under the most appropriate topic:
In addition to the etiquette guidelines, please do not reply to a post that has been inactive for more than 30 days (necroposting). Fan Creations
 Fan Art must include an original source if the artwork that is posted is not original content made by the poster. Please provide the name of the artist or the source of the artwork when posting artwork that is not made by yourself. Putting "Google", "Pinterest", or "credit to the artist" with no additional details is not considered as a valid source. If a user is found to be illegitimately claiming artwork as their own, the post(s) will be deleted, and the user will be warned. If an artist has explicitly stated conditions against having their art being reproduced or reposted, we will honor the request of the artist and delete any offending posts. Fan Fiction is intended for writers to express and share stories and ideas, such as original characters and story building. Posts that exhibit problematic themes or contain content that falls under the defined prohibited Inappropriate Content such as NSFW, discrimination, excessive violence, and sexualization are subject to be deleted at the sole discretion of the wiki staff.
All Original Characters (OC) must be categorized under Fan Creation. Only OCs related to Genshin Impact and OC posts with proper/detailed character description are allowed such as including the OC's backstory, character description, custom voice-overs, etc. OCs unrelated to Genshin Impact and low-effort OC posts (one-line question or polls) are not allowed, such as:
We suggest you to use the Fanon Wiki instead to share your OC. MemesMemes should be appropriate and should not be profane or nonsensical. Please do not spam the discussions section with posts that are essentially the same in nature (e.g., posting numerous photoshops and edits of a character, such as putting a hat on a character). If you are adamant about sharing these photos, please compile them all in one post rather than posting them numerous times as individual posts, otherwise, they are subject to immediate deletion if they are posted in a manner like spam. Off-Topic Off-topic conversations and comments will be deleted. This includes low-effort posts that are barely Genshin Impact related. The following is a list that represents posts that are generally seen as off-topic:
Please refrain from derailing threads (meaning, to steer away from the original subject) to discuss off-topic subjects. Users should refrain from using threads as their own personal chat boxes and should instead use the Fandom user Message Walls or external messaging apps like Discord if they wish to discuss off-topic material. Users who have been found to be starting off-topic discussions will be warned, and all subsequent users who have been contributing to the off-topic discussion may also receive warnings. We allow for some off-topic posts to be made, depending on the context in which they were made for. Below is a list that contains posts that are not considered Genshin Impact related, but are allowed in the best interest of building the community:
Meta posts, which act as posts that discuss subjects related to the community, are allowed as this is a collaborative community, but they are subject to be deleted if they are made solely to gossip or provoke drama against other users in the community. They can be posted under Editing Discussion to discuss suggestions that can be made to the discussions section or the site itself. The wiki is not a place to discuss ethics and morality—this is more or less considered an off-topic discussion. Please do not use the site to discuss semantics behind the negative connotations of a word, or berate users over the matter. Please practice open-mindedness and assume good faith when using this site. If a user is using certain words in a malicious manner (e.g., using the word "loli" in a sexual and objectifying way rather than using it to simply describe a young-looking female character like Klee), please report the post in question and the site administrators and moderators will have a look at the offending posts. Low-Effort In addition to off-topic content, the following posts or comments will be deleted if they are found as purely low-effort, regardless if they may have some resemblance to Genshin Impact. The following is a list of some types of posts that are generally seen as low-effort, and therefore subject to deletion:
Similar to how off-topic posts are handled, the moderation team will review each post on a case-by-case basis, and we may allow for some leniency in the handling of these posts, provided the posts have good interest to the community. AI-Generated Content Content that was artificially generated through a prompt or through a service and is screenshotted or uploaded here (e.g. character.ai models of Genshin characters, artificially generated images) are not allowed everywhere in the wiki. Artificially generated content will be deleted in order to maintain a standard of quality within the discussions section by reducing the large influx of redundant screenshots and posts containing content that is generated from AI services. AI-generated content such as Chat GPT screenshots, AI art generators (such as DALL-E or Bing), AI chatbots, etc. are not allowed. Posts generated by these tools aren't really about Genshin Impact. It's about the absurdity of the content and superimposing Genshin Impact characters in it, no matter how well it's made. Inappropriate Content Pornographic content, Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content, the sexualization of Genshin Impact characters, and any form of inappropriate content are not welcome on the Wiki. Inappropriate content is defined as content that is obscene: pornographic, abusive, or offensive. The judgment that defines a thread or post as inappropriate is reserved for the discretion of administrators and moderators. Please do not solicit or allude to inappropriate content. Below is a non-exhaustive list that includes examples of what we commonly consider inappropriate content:
Users that are found to be posting borderline inappropriate content are also subject to be immediately blocked without appeal. "Thirst" comments, kissing and barking, and any comments that entail any sort of sexual acts towards the characters are strictly prohibited. Comments that infringe on these rules include but are not limited to:
Otherwise, any other comments that compliment a character's appearance in a non-sexual and appropriate manner are allowed. ShippingThe act of "Shipping" is prohibited on this wiki. If you want to share your headcanon between two characters, please refer yourself to the Shipping Wiki where it is more thematically appropriate. This rule applies to all kinds of pairings, including but not limited to "Canon x Canon", "Canon x OC", "OC x OC", and "Canon X Non-Genshin Canon Characters". Personal InformationThreads and posts that solicit account sharing or selling of your Genshin Impact account are strictly prohibited. This includes any comments or posts that may severely jeopardize the confidentiality of an account or a user, such as an e-mail or a password. In addition, any comments or posts that otherwise include personally identifiable information is strictly prohibited. Users are strictly prohibited to ask other users for personal information, such as their address or age. Likewise, users should not share or post details about their personal information to other users on the site such as:
Please practice online safety, especially if you are a minor, because users of all ages are able to visit this wiki and are able to see everything you post. This includes sharing sensitive information in Message Walls. Message Walls are public, NOT private, so everyone is able to see what you post on them. Language This Wiki is primarily intended for use with the English language, and as such, posts or comments that are not in English will be deleted. Please use our regional navigation located above the "Share" button on the top right of the page to switch to your respective language if you wish to contribute in your native language! User DramaThe discussion and mention of banned users within the community, or "drama" within the Genshin Impact fandom is strictly prohibited. Users who provoke or instigate drama will not be tolerated. Any comments or posts that are specifically made to gossip about Genshin Impact content creators, influencers, Twitter users, and other Fandom communities are not allowed. Impersonation and Mini-ModdingThe impersonation of other users or famous people will not be tolerated. Mini-modding, also known as backseat moderating, is also not allowed, including but not limited to giving out Notice/Warning/Block messages on behalf of the moderators or acting like wiki staff without the authority to do so; it is considered wiki staff impersonation and is likewise prohibited. Please leave any problems to the wiki staff, and use the report function instead of mini-modding. If you have been banned and return to a new account, your posts will be deleted and your new account(s) will be banned. Spam and Trolling Wikis are a great place to build content on a specific topic, not a place to spam links to your latest product or to post non-relevant material. Spam will be removed, so please don't add it to begin with. Users are allowed to post Genshin Impact related videos in the comments section of pages, provided these videos are relevant to the page itself and not spammed throughout numerous pages. Examples of spamming include, but are not limited to the following:
In addition to regular forms of spam, comments that specifically berate a certain character throughout various pages are not allowed. Users are allowed to express distaste over a character but are not allowed to spam the same type of message repeatedly on different pages (e.g., "[Character] sucks so much, I'm really glad I pulled this character over [Character]." in conjunction with "Man, [Character] fans simp for this character so much. They're simply overrated, there are so much better units than [Character]."). Accounts that exist solely to post negative comments for the sole purpose of inciting angry responses will be seen as no different than accounts that engage in spamming and trolling. Trolling can be considered as the act of inciting flame wars, maliciously infuriating or annoying other users on the site, creating discussions that are intentionally made to bait responses, and users that are intentionally deviating from common sense. Trolling of any form is not tolerated on this site and will be dealt with accordingly. InfractionsWarnings and Blocks Notice, Warning, and Block messages are issued at the wiki staff's discretion. Users that have been found to have broken these rules will receive a warning issued onto their Message Wall for breaking the rules. In some instances, a user will be immediately blocked depending on the severity of the rule they have broken. Blocks will be placed for users who are found to have ignored warnings issued to them as well as users who are otherwise being disruptive and problematic to the site and its users. If a user returns from a block and they are found to be violating any of the rules written here again, there will be a zero tolerance policy set in place, and repeated infractions may result in longer block suspensions, or in more problematic cases, an immediate suspension without a chance of appeal. As a result, the duration of account suspensions will vary on a case-by-case basis. However, it should be made apparent that continued infractions will proportionately influence the length of a user's suspension, with more infractions resulting in a longer suspension. Removing Notice, Warning, and Block MessagesDeleting any Warning or Notice issued by a Wiki Staff is strictly prohibited for any reason. It is considered as disregarding a Warning/Notice. You will get another warning for it and continuous acts will result in a block. Attempting to delete warnings issued on message walls will not work as a method to bypass or hide infractions, as Administrators and Moderators are able to see deleted messages and comments. Please note that warnings are not personal attacks and should not be taken personally — they are meant to notify or deal with a user after they have broken a rule, as well as providing a means for Administrators and Moderators to keep a record of a user's infractions. Underaged UsersIf a user is suspected or found to be under the age of 13, their account will be globally blocked by FANDOM out of precautionary measures in regards to the FANDOM Terms of Use. Circumventing BlocksUsers should not create or use alternate accounts in order to circumvent blocks issued locally or globally on Fandom. Accounts that have been suspected to be ban-evading will be met with an immediate suspension. Appealing a BlockMain page: Genshin Impact Wiki:Appeal System
Users can choose to appeal their suspensions if they believe the block was made in error, or that they have understood the conditions that have lead to their block, and would like to regain access to wiki privileges. Appeals may not be granted, depending on the severity of the block and the user's history of reoccurring infractions on their account. Furthermore, any appeals that have been successfully made are not guaranteed to be accepted. This may be due to a known history of infractions on their account or poor reasoning for their appeals. Users who wish to request an appeal for their suspension may read more about appealing on this page. It should be noted that users who have appealed their suspensions should have a great understanding of the rules by acknowledging the reasons for their block, and by requesting an appeal, they understand the guidelines of the wiki.
