Runner's log 03: Too much

I'm Bella Gerber, a Runner for the Union. Or at least I used to be. To tell you the truth, I think we're alone out here. Haven't heard from headquarters in months, and they haven't heard from us. The Union... we're all trying our best to help everyone, but there's just too many people to help, too much to do, too many hazards in the way. We're running low on supplies. I spend every daylight hour scavenging, but it's not enough. I need help. And we're not getting any. Some of the survivors volunteered to go out scavenging with me. Young ones. The last partner I had out here was boiled alive in a radpit. If even he couldn't... (deep breath) I can't let them risk their lives, not after I promised them safety. I'm gonna start going out at night too. Maybe then I can gather enough.
