Bella Gerber was a member of the Union in the Pitt.

Background[]

Bella was the wife of Pat Gerber, a striker for the Union; the two promised to reunite after their separate work for the Union was complete.[1] Bella was a runner for the Union, previously assigned to deliver supplies between safehouses. However, on her runs, she noticed wayward people who were struggling greatly. When the Sanctum was still under the control of the Union, Bella would bring these people there for safety. She considered this shift in responsibilities akin to a career change, running people in need of help instead of people.[2] However, Bella struggled to keep up with the terrain changes in the Trench, and her hopes of being able to send a report back to the Union's headquarters grew thin. She was emotionally affected when a young boy asked her when he would be able to go home; she did not have the heart to tell him that his home likely no longer existed, and could only tell him that he would be well taken care of at the Sanctum.[3]

As days turned into months, Bella assumed that she and the Sanctum had been abandoned by the Union's leadership. Although she frequently scavenged for supplies in the Trench, it was not enough to keep up with the needs of the refugees. Some younger survivors volunteered to assist Bella on her scavenging runs, but she was apprehensive to allow this, as her previous partner had died in grisly fashion, "boiled alive in a radpit." Eventually refusing to put more people in danger, Bella mustered up her strength and decided she would start going out on night runs.[4] When the Fanatics took over the Sanctum, she became a prisoner in the cathedral's catacombs. Bella blamed herself for the loss, saying that everyone she had promised safety at the Sanctum, she actually led into capture. She was disappointed that she would not be able to reunite with her husband Pat, as she believed she would never escape the Fanatic-controlled Sanctum and thereafter ceased her holotape logs. Her eventual fate is unknown.[1]

Appearances[]

Bella Gerber is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: The Pitt update.
