Bleach Wiki:Blocking Policy

Hello and welcome to the Bleach Wiki. There are very few policies which apply across all of Wikia; the ones that do can be found at their Policy Category. In addition to these policies, there have been policies and guidelines that have been developed on the Bleach Wiki to further our goal of creating an informative Bleach database. Our policies apply to all editors. We at the Bleach Wiki strive to create a welcoming and fun environment for those who are civil and assume good faith in others, seek consensus in discussions, and work towards the goal of creating an increasingly comprehensive database about everything in the Bleach Universe. Policies need to be approached with common sense; adhere to the spirit rather than the lettering of the rules, and be prepared to break the rules on the rare occasion when they conflict with the goal of improving the wiki. General Rules General Rules Do not vandalize current articles. Continued vandalism will result in a block. No offensive articles with sexual/vulgar language or racist remarks. Do not make pointless articles. If you see one, put the Request for Deletion tag on. Please respect neutrality. Do not edit a closed discussion. Ways to stay neutral Do not only provide one point of view, but all relevant viewpoints as necessary. Support your article with actual facts. Use a reliable source.

The following is the blocking procedure on the Bleach Wiki for when users violate policy. All Admins and Committee Members will follow this guide when issuing warnings and blocks.

Blocking is the method by which administrators may technically prevent users from editing Bleach Wiki. Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption, not to punish users. Blocks sometimes are used as a deterrent, to discourage whatever behavior led to the block and encourage a productive editing environment.

Warnings & Appeals

Blocked users can appeal their blocks by making a statement on their talk page. Except in cases of unambiguous error, administrators should not undo other administrators' blocks without prior discussion. The number of warnings issued per offence before a block is put in place can be found in the table below.

Only Administrators and those on the Policy and Standards Committe can issue warnings. If any other user tells you about policy violations, it is not considered an official warning, but please do listen to what they have to say.

Any user may request a block at Forum:Administrative Requests for major incidents of vandalism or disruption. Users requesting blocks should supply credible evidence of the circumstances warranting a block. Administrators are never obliged to place a block and are free to investigate the situation themselves. Because blocks may be reviewed and appealed, it is often important that the blocking and reviewing administrators each communicate with and take care to inform the other.

Repeated Policy Violations Following a Lifted Ban

If a user continues to violate policy after having a block lifted from their account, their ban will be upgraded to the next increment of time, as listed from left to right in the table below. Note that if a user violates a policy that requires a block time longer than the next increment (ex. next increment would be one month, but user does action for a 1 year ban), the greater length of time takes precedent, as the violation is more severe. Also note: If a User continues to perform an action they were previously blocked for, they will be blocked again without warning.

Durations for Blocking

The following displays each action that could get you banned, as well as show how many times you will be warned before said ban and how long the ban will last. For some offenses, a minimum to maximum range is given which the blocking admin will choose from at their discretion depending on the severity of the issue.
