Palworld: Breeding pairs you need to know

You probably shouldn't question the logistics of some of these...

Palworld is full of Pals, and some of them are harder to catch than others. If there’s a particular Pal that you’re hunting for, there’s good news – you can probably breed it. If you’re wondering how breeding works, keep reading.

To unlock the Breeding Pen, you need to be level 19 and unlock it via the Technology ladder. Once you’ve done this, you can build it by pressing B and navigating to the Pal section of the building menu.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 100 Wood
  • 20 Stone
  • 50 Fibre

How to use the Breeding Pen in Palworld

Breeding Pals is easy, all you need is one male Pal, one female Pal, and some cake. Yes, cake.

To put a Pal into the Breeding Pen, it needs to be one of the Pals that is allocated to the base where the Pen is located. To do this, interact with your Palbox and find the Pal you wish to breed with, allocate it to your base and then rush to pick it up before it gets distracted with another task.

Once you’re waving the Pal above your head, carry it over to the Breeding Pen and throw it in. Repeat these steps for the opposite sex pal of your choice and you’re halfway there.

To get all the way there and ensure that your Breeding endeavors produce an egg, grab yourself a cake and place it into the special box to the right side of the Pen’s entrance. If you’re wondering how to make cake or why it’s needed, we have a guide on the topic

Breeding combinations

I’m going to break this down into two sections; Fusion Pals and regular Pals. Fusion Pals can be bred by using only a specific combination of Pals, such as using Relaxaurus and Sparkit in order to create a Relaxaurus Lux, some of the rarer or harder to catch Pals have a few different possible parent combinations.

The sex of either parent doesn’t matter, as long as the two breeds are coupled together you should get the desired resulting child Pal.

Fusion Pals

While Fusion Pals can be fought and caught in the wild, it is infinitely easier to breed them if you have the necessary parent Pals.

Rare regular Pals

These Pals are difficult to capture in the wild and require a lot of effort, but each has a few potential parent combinations when breeding. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but where there are multiple possible combinations, I’ve noted five of the more achievable one.
