Woman’s body found at Melbourne waste management facility

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death, which is being treated as suspicious

The body of a woman has been found at a waste management facility in Melbourne’s north.

Workers made the grim discovery while moving green waste at the site on Cooper Street in Epping on Wednesday.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the suspicious death and are waiting on the results of a postmortem examination before formally identifying her.

Police believe her body was originally inside a bin that was picked up outside a property in the nearby suburb of Coolaroo on Tuesday before being taken to Epping.

Detectives are looking at CCTV and dashcam footage taken in the Coolaroo area from 23 June to 2 July.

Anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or has relevant footage has been asked to contact investigators.
