The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a gem among indie games and one of the best narrative driven games I've played. There wasn't one boring moment in the entire story and I got emotional several times from start to finish. Deconstructeam was simply excellent in everything it tried to with this game.
The cosmic wheel - Sisterhood is a life altering experience.
For the past 6 years now, I have been struggling. The transgender question was at the forefront of my mind all this time, asking me wether I am or want or could or should or would.
This may be the most uplifting story about women I have had the pleasure of experiencing so far.
I won't spoil much, but there is a transgender character in this story.
She was accepted, and she didn't have to justify it. No one questioned her, or called it a decision. And after experiencing this, I can say with confidence that I am going to follow my path. I know now, that I should not hold myself back. I should be who I want to be, and not let the discourse around it all make me think and reconsider and question and effectively ruin myself.
In ten, or twenty years, when someone asks me what the most life-changing thing that happened to me was, I will be able to say with confidence that it was a Night in August of 2023, in a London Hotel while browsing the Nintento e-shop and finding a game about witches.
I will be a woman, the way I want to be.
I will be myself.
And Fortuna and her sisters will be with me.
firstly I went through a great visual novel that has a memorable colorful world and the same characters, but it is also unique (at least for me) the mechanics of creating your tarot cards. In general, I give the highest score because in its genre it is non-standard and at the same time one of the best representatives of its genre. P.S.
Playing interactive literature in fact in interactive literature itself is brilliant!
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is an amazing narrative journey exploring fate, politics, isolation, friendship and more, filled with a stellar cast and great writing and music, but the tarot card creation is what will easily have players addicted for hours, and the way it ties into the main story is done superbly. It makes for a truly unique adventure game that’s not to be missed out on, especially for those looking to get creative, go nuts and craft the motorcycle wolf card of their dreams.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a delicious narrative adventure, with a great creative input, on how we influence and control our own destiny, with all Deconstructeam's know-how.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a hugely engaging narrative adventure, even if you have little actual interest in the tarot. Sporting multiple endings, it tells a tale that will stay with you well after you’ve set your virtual deck down. Just don’t make deals with any space lobsters, okay?
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is an intimate story about overcoming isolation, rebuilding your future, and finding community that will resonate with many. The game’s card creating mechanics will be perfect for the artistically inclined, and are welcoming to those lacking the skill. Deconstructeam surprised me with the variety of outcomes that the card divination sections offer, and I’m looking forward to jumping into the game again and spending more time with Fortuna and Ábramar.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood shows us what women can be when they are free to be who they are, liberated from arbitrary restrictions on their lives. It is a feminist, progressive, intersectional game, one that celebrates women in every form. It made me feel connected to the world around me, and that’s a huge accomplishment.
I loved this game, and I honestly believe it had the potential to be one of the greats when it comes to the storytelling genre. First of all, the art is beautiful. The setting is also really interesting. The game itself is a visual novel with a card mini-game attached and both of these give you choices that heavily impact the story in meaningful ways.
There's just one major gripe I have with it, hence the score. There's a strong anti-men message in later parts of the game that is both patronizing and hateful.
There's also a lot of political messaging surrounding **** and trans people that felt a little bit forced, but overall most references to these topics were pretty tactful and actually made sense given the context of some characters.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. The gameplay isn't riveting but it's a nice twist on the usual visual-novel shtick. The choices and how much they matter is what makes this game. Every little decision - be it text or cards - matters. You strive to make your deck with the feelings you want to convey and face the consequences of whatever path you choose.
Good short narrative and decision-making game.
The only downside is that being a game that focuses on creating cards, there is very little variety.
And lgbt issues that cut the thread of the story.
I played the demo and was pretty hyped.
The first chapters are also really great, the game has depth, doesn't throw the message in your face, just shows you different fates and I felt deeply touched, but that changed just after half
Romance felt extremely forced (wtf pacing) and the fun and message lagged behind at a certain point
after the last chapter i would like to say: why do you have to hate men? why do you have to seem to include everyone?
at the beginning i really thought this is about the deeper connection between women, that all decisions have meaning, that every fate counts, but in the end i was disappointed how much that was slapped in my face, a pity
Summary Immerse yourself in an enchanting narrative experience as Fortuna, a fortune-teller Witch condemned to exile on her asteroid home. Craft your own Tarot deck, regain your freedom, and shape the fate of the cosmic Witch society.
