The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage. Super Mario Odyssey draws inspiration from the superb classic to top it and everything that came after it. [13/2017, p.38]
The wait is over; the pinnacle of 3D adventures has arrived in the form of Super Mario Odyssey. It beggars belief just how much Nintendo has packed into this latest outing, without compromising the core Mario goodness of the past. Just as with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Mario series has now reached a special new level of greatness that will be hard to surpass in the future. The Nintendo Switch is fast becoming the hottest platform, crammed full of sublime quality gaming experiences like this fantastic new escapade.
Super Mario Odyssey is a jewel that shines with perfect controls, fresh possibilities and gameplay variety. An experience filled with surprises and challenges to explore everywhere. All kinds of players will remember Oddyssey as one of the best entries in the series for generations to come.
An immersive gaming experience that will have you travelling through a plethora of kingdoms, with many secrets to discover and many opportunities to experience the unique features of the console. A game that is sure to make Miyamoto-san proud of the newer teams working on the Super Mario Universe.
Super Mario Odyssey is a lovely experience from beginning to end. The sheer scope of the game can be a little overwhelming and there are some bumps you’ll encounter in your journey. If you’re searching for a solid experience on the Nintendo Switch beside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you should definitely take this odyssey with Mario.
Though a really neat game, Super Mario Odyssey is an utterly underwhelming adventure for every long-term Super Mario fan in existence. Unless Cappy brainwashed you. In that case, you are a satisfied zombie customer now. No, seriously, only a zombie would find a healthy challenge in this pleasant but disappointingly easy Super Mario Walk-in-the-park. Sorry - Odyssey.
Super Mario Odyssey and Galaxy 1 are the only 3d Mario games I have, but I have only finished Odyssey right now, although with plans to finish Galaxy. It is a fantastic game, if not in my objective opinion the number 1 reason why videogames still rock even if we are not in the best decade or generation, because Nintendo made yet another special game that I will remember for years to come and play again. The graphics are gorgeous for a Nintendo game, the level design is really well done with minigames that are very fun, amazing use of color and atmosphere and a sense of little but great exploration. The soundtrack is great, especially Jump up, Super Star, or even the theme Fossil Falls. The gameplay is at its best in the Mario series, the movement and controls and Cappy are so fun and masterful to play with. Mario can be controlled in so many ways (jumping with the hat, rolling, triple jump...) and using Cappy is a joy (you can play with almost anything Mario captures and becomes), the bosses (despite feeling a little repetitive) are memorable and fun to fight against and always present new challenges, you can even use coins and purple coins to buy awesome outfits for Mario and buy stuff to make your ship the Odyssey more decorated. It is a love letter to the games that made Mario what it is today, plus lots of replayability for collecting more Power Moons after beating the story. 100% recommended to those who have or want a Nintendo Switch.
This game is definitely one of the best Mario games ever made. I have a lot of good memories playing this game and the first playthrough is always incredible. Its replay factor isn't really there unless there's a challenge you're following.
The game "Super Mario Odyssey" was surprisingly horrible. To be completely straightforward in my opinion Game-play loop was stale, the worlds were nowhere close to unique in my opinion, and the story lacked depth.
visualmente é impecável, ele mostra que o Nintendo switch é capaz de rodar muita coisa, porém a gameplay é extremamente sem graça e o level design deixa a desejar
