⚠️ Are your survey questions creating biased responses? You may not realise that your survey contains questions that contain assumptions or hints that could influence a respondents answer —which will skew your data. So, how can you write questions that avoid leading the respondent toward a specific answer? 💡Try this: Frame questions in a neutral manner and avoid emotionally charged words. For example, certain questions could make respondents feel there is a social expectation. So, asking the question "Do you buy organic?" with response options "yes", "no" and "prefer not to answer" might prompt biased responses. Instead, offer options like "I would if it was less expensive" or "I would if it was available." This reduces social bias and improves data quality. We found this change reduces organic purchase claims from 15% to 5%.
