Diageo-owned 21Seeds Tequila has teamed up with actor Rachel Bilson on a new campaign that sees her reprise her role on The OC.

21SEEDS PARTNERS WITH RACHEL BILSON AND THE O.C. TO SERVE SUMMER WITH THE REVIVAL OF AN ICON! We have officially teamed up with Rachel Bilson and Fake Empire to give millennial consumers what they’ve been asking for for years: a return to The O.C. The new campaign, the biggest our brand has ever done to date, stars Rachel Bilson reprising her role as the iconic Summer Roberts crafting easy-to-make cocktails with 21SEEDS, her drink of choice. Together, we’re not only celebrating the best of the summer season, but we’re beyond excited to toast to The O.C.'s 21st birthday by tapping into early 2000s nostalgia with fan-favorite scenes from the hit series, infused with a tequila twist. 21SEEDS seized the opportunity to lean into the nostalgic marketing trend appealing to an audience yearning for a revival. We worked directly with Fake Empire, the production company co-founded by The O.C. Executive Producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, to authentically bring the creative to life in partnership with Kimmelot Labs and starpower llc., Anna Mastro, who was an assistant to Executive Producers on The O.C. pilot and has subsequently become a director of numerous episodes of TV and commercials, was tapped to direct the project. The "Serving Summer" campaign includes three 15-second spots featuring fan-favorite callbacks to the show and one extended version that is a MUST SEE.

Taking Shots at Breakout Growth 21Seeds founders Kat Hantas, Nicole (Hantas) Emanuel, and Sarika Singh were recently presented as a Harvard Business School case study (21Seeds: Taking Shots at Breakout Growth). These female trail blazers took the leap to create an amazing product and take it to market in the highly competitive Bev Alc environment. Literally starting in Kat's kitchen, 21Seeds was born to fill an unmet consumer need, and from there, it just worked! The journey was of course full of challenges, but the brand succeeded nonetheless breaking barriers along the way to be acquired by a powerhouse like Diageo 3 years later. I was fortunate enough to join the 21Seeds team early on and had a front row seat to this wild ride. Huge congrats to these founders and all of the amazing people involved along the way!
