What I've had to do (should you still have not gotten it by now) is stand about where you are in the first pic and hold run down and then sprint forward and turn at just the right point and jump across. One of the more parkour like jumps.
Probably best that you save before you do this, 'cause I fell off the edge my first few times (dam guards caught me) but once I got the hang of it I manage to only fall 1 out of every 8 jumps now.
I get lost easily and so went there more often then I would have liked. ^^;
