Couple of observations...

Fox and Jolie are not "strikingly similiar" as the Times says. They're sexy brunettes who have tats. And maybe they've both hooked up with other chicks in the past. The parallels pretty much end there, do they not? They look nothing alike.

And re: Wonder Woman... she's kind of right. That'll be tough to pull of.

I have always had trouble with wonderwoman. She is supposed to be a great female superhero, yet her costume is demeaning and her arsenal lacks cohesion and looks to be just a hodge-podge of random power to make able to roll with the boys. Most of the core male heroes do not do that, why the hell does she.

I really want to see a reboot. One in which she is not as "lame"

If they're planning on making a serious movie, I doubt they'll play up the Lasso of Truth or the invisible jet. If Fox is comparing the new Wonder Woman movie to the old Super Friends cartoon or the Linda Carter show, then she's definitely not up to date.

Actually, this brings up a question I've had for a long time now. What's the point of the invisible jet if Wonder Woman can fly?

I believe the pictures used in the comparison were of the "photo-shopped face plastered on body-shots" type that you find on free-porn sites.
Also remember the big difference... Only one of them can act.
Jolie does extreme-sports plus extreme-missionary work (gigady ), while Fox admits she does nothing. Their TRUE bodies show this. Megan can run with her boobs bouncing, but Jolie can actually shoot while riding a horse... And her boobs bouncing. And in the end, is that not Wonder Woman is about? Kicking ass with bouncing boobs?

I gotta go with Ms. Fox on this, no offense to the fanbase. I think this is going to be an immensely difficult project to pull off without it looking really goofy. Blue panties with stars, and knee high heels? A bustier? *wince* I foresee another Catwoman here.

This isn't a slam on the character/comic ... but the translation to film is gonna require some serious re-imagining/engineering. And we all know how people feel about changing ANYTHING in these films.

Lastly, I think Jessica Biel would make a better Wonder Woman or Lara Croft. She's got a much more athletic figure (ie musculature).

i dont think she shouldve totally dissed the character like that. i mean it is her opinion, but she could've been a little more polite about it. to me playing a superheroine amazon demigod seems a lot more interesting than the hot girlfriend of some guy who happens to be friends w/autobots. although she doesn't have the greatest rogue's gallery, wonder woman does have the potential to be an at least entertaining movie aand maybe even a great one.

Jeez. I like her even less now (which was barely, to start with.) It's not because she said something I don't agree with - everyone is entitled to their own opinion - but because of the way she worded it. Like K.K. said, she could have been more polite - or at least more mature - about it.

Megan, it's okay, you're lame too.
I don't think AJ and Megan Fox are similar except for their sex appeal and love of tattoos. AJ may be typecasted too much, but she is genuinely talented right down to doing a lot of hard work (like stunts) and amazing acting portrayals in movies. Megan just stands there. Talking with a not always convincing acting ability and her constantly changing Barbie doll face. But then...that's my opinion.

Wonder Woman has definitely improved over the years, and for me her appeal is not just about flying, or jets, or lassos - it's the character. She is intelligent, she is mature, she's pretty - but not in a supermodel way (depending on the artist chosen, though) more in an athlete way but she's got flaws. In the newer comics and series I've always rather enjoyed her growth as a character versus who she's beating up this month.

And you guys have to admit, this movie would be awesome if they didn't take it away from Joss like that. He had said he didn't intend on giving her tight blue panties and an unreasonable costume - that he wanted it recognizably hers but much more like something a superhero woman would realistically wear. But whatever. Nobody wants good movies, so nobody lets Joss make things the way he wants them to be made.

i imagine a wonder woman movie in my mind the first thing they need to do is forget the blue star panties and go straight for a golden looking war skirt after all she is amazon warrior princess. keep the lasso of truth in because that's her iconic weapon but make it cut though stuff. get a shield and that anicent amazon god sword. WW is known to be good at alot of different martial arts and amazon fighting, mixes that in there. and the first part of the movie should be based in the greek myth time with the god of war ares as the main baddie. then let her find steve lose her memory go to the modern world and be a agent then and fight some international terrorist which go be korba or cheetah. she steals or gets the government serect invisible plane and go back to her amazon island gets all her powers back and fight ares boom there goes ur movie

I think her comments are naive at best and totally f'n ignorant at worst.
The character of Wonder Woman is not about the lasso or the bracelets or the jet. The character is about the power of women in all of it's forms.
Wonder Woman is arguably the single most recognizable female heroine in American literary history. She was a symbol of the womens lib movement and held up as an icon by the likes of Gloria Steinem. Wonder Woman has been around for decades, not because of her gadgets but because of what she represents not only to comic book readers but women and young girls everywhere.
As for her costume, ask writer Denny O'neil what happens when you mess with that costume. He tried to give her a more modern/PC look in the 70's and the womens lib movements burned him at the stake. She represents strength, independence and FEMININITY. It may not be a practical costume but it still means something to women many of whom do not see it as demeaning but rather empowering.
For Fox to reduce this character to a punchline and trivialize her importance to millions of fans WORLDWIDE is just plain ignorant. Just because the writers have failed to come up with a script that does justice to this character, it does not mean the character is stupid or lame or irrelevant or can't be done. It just means they haven't found the right writer. Clearly they haven't found the right actress either.
If anyone on this board questions whether or not a Wonder Woman movie can be any good, I would invite you to go buy or rent the Wonder Woman animated movie that was released in March and you'll get a taste of what this character can be onscreen.

Hey, she's entitled to her opinion, but I gotta say - it sounds like she's dismissing the property without knowing much about it. A LOT of superheroes sound ridiculous and stupid if you don't pay attention to things; how cool was Bucky Barnes until the current Marvel writers wrote him as Winter Soldier, for example? She sounds like all she knows about the character is informed from the old tv shows - none of the old super hero tv shows were any good; that would be like Christian Bale turning down Batman because of the Adam West show It's a shame because WW can be really good; the recent animated straight-to-DVD film proved that.

Oh well. I think Fox is ridiculously hot in Transformers, but I can honestly take her or leave her. I mean, has anyone really seen - or cared - about - another movie she's been in? If she's not gonna stick to genre films, than she better just pick some other good movies to be in. Being ridiculously hot is great and all, but it can't sustain a career forever...
