I still take it quite seriously and follow everything.
It's this board that I don't take seriously anymore.

Well put.
Smash is almost nostalgic to me because I started playing Smash 64 with my brother when I was about 4. Melee came out when I was 6 (I think), and became the series, along with Zelda, I continued to play through my life. I am looking forward to Smash because of how many different characters are available. I figure with Smash, the more characters, the better. Almost like playing DragonBall Z games, although weren't the best, I could choose my favorite character from watching the show.
Unfortunately, I'll still feel let down because of the lack of characters in Smash as well. Unless there is DLC and download new characters, then cool. But I don't see that happening. There was no reason to get rid of Mewtwo, Roy, Pichu, and Dr. Mario. There should still have been some implementation. Again, the more characters, the better. Or add the most wanted characters, such as Ridley, Rayman, whomever they can. Look at Hyrule Warriors, they are adding everyone they can it seems.
Melee is the best competitive Smash yet, but I also doubt Smash 4 will compare. Which is fine because as Frish said, just grab some buddies and play up. Brawl was good for that for a time. I didn't realize how obnoxious it was to play it until I played Melee and went back to Brawl. From there, I couldn't do it anymore. Instead, I still play Melee.
The series is great and all, but we've all assimilated to a particular play style now, or tradition, or whatever it may be to be difficult for everyone to become satisfied with the game.
