With the return of baseball up in the air, I thought it would be fun to conduct an MLB historical draft and run it through OOTP.

Here are the basic drafting parameters:
We'll have a max of 30 teams. The winner will be determined by an OOTP simulation. We'll determine the exact structure of that on a later date, but I did provide some OOTP-specific tips below. I'll provide more specific rules when we start the draft, but key things to know as you're building your draft board:

Here are the basic drafting parameters:
- All Major League players from 1947 (breaking of the color barrier) to 2019 are eligible
- You will be drafting individual seasons of players. A player can't be drafted twice (So if you draft Pablo Sanchez's 1997 season, you can't draft his 1999 season later)
- 25 rounds, with a major league roster format of 25 players (number of pitchers vs. hitters is entirely up to you)
- DH will be turned on and primary DH players are eligible
- Two way players are eligible and can be used as both pitcher and batter. Just designate them as so. Make sure they were actually a two way player.

- We'll likely run a full season (exact number of games depends on how many teams we have) and full playoffs to determine the winner.
- It will be something like a balanced schedule (home and away series against each team) with one big conference, top 8 get into the playoffs. This is very preliminary and subject to change. Open to suggestions.
- Injuries will be turned off, but fatigue will be on at the very least for pitchers. Not sure about position players yet.
- All ballparks will be the same with neutral settings.
- Strategy Settings can be customized. This will allow you to take advantage of a team of speedsters or a team of really good fielders. If you want to draft some utility guys or have an all-time defensive sub, go ahead. Details here. OOTP is incredibly detailed in this regard. I suggest you familiarize yourself with the game.
- Progression will be turned off. If you drafted Pete Wheeler 1997, he will stay Pete Wheeler from 1997 and whatever default ratings he had for the duration of the sim.
- Some light position swapping will be allowed, but please keep it within reason. I won't allow you to play a career-long shortstop at 2nd base or put a career starting pitcher in your bullpen. Somebody who split positions in his career will be fine. I'll come up with specific inning requirements before starting the draft. DH will be exempt from this.
