Walkthrough: Part Three
Retreat, and hold far left. Pick up a torch, and spear it into the crowd of tiny Spiders to make them back off. Cross the line here, and kill the three Spiders up ahead with the Fierce Attack, Killing Move combo. Burn down the spider webs up ahead with the torch, and proceed through. Once inside, go right and throw some torches at the Orc soldiers at the campfire.
This will provoke them all to attack, so get prepared for some Fierce Attack madness, and throw those torches at the enemies for fast kills. There should be a few Spiders in back of you, as well, so pay close attention for that. Go through the upcoming hall, and throw more torches at the shielded retreating enemies to kill them without even touching them, personally.
Proceed to continue with the torch throwing, but you will likely have to destroy the two Spiders yourself. Afterwards, take the downward path, and head immediately right. Tip over the rocks onto the Orc soldiers down below, and clear out any that remain with a little melee fighting. Take the path ahead of where the Orcs were destroyed.
This will be the Checkpoint. After the cut-scene, advance further across the bridge. Run over to the torch and throw it to the far left immediately to take out a group of Orc soldiers this way. Clean up the rest with melee attacks. Go through the hall, and kill a few more Orcs. You will soon reach an area where you must throw out two torches to clear the two sets of tiny Spiders, so do so.
First, throw a torch to the back of the room to knock away at the spider webs. Now, kill the Spiders here, and throw out a couple of torches to make the tiny Spiders back off. Quickly move through the spider sea, and kill off the three Spiders afterwards. Now, throw the torch at the oncoming Orc soldiers further in the hallway, and advance further through the cave.
At this obscure fork in the road, throw a torch to the right to clear the tiny spiders from here, and make your way up. Kill the several Spiders that come out from the inner walls, and throw a torch far in the distance to catch fire to the spider web. Backtrack, and torch a series of three sets of tiny spiders to clear your path through to the hall while blowing away the three Archers here with your projectiles.
Destroy the four Spiders that come from the entrance to the hall, and you will soon hit the checkpoint. Uh oh, Mr. Frodo just got whupped by Shelob. It's boss time. Charge after Shelob and attack her from behind as much as you possibly can. Afterwards, she will turn around. Parry all of her attacks with the Fierce Button, or transcend into Fierce Button combos, if you have any available.
Parrying is the key to winning this battle, and is often overlooked, as is the case in many battles throughout the game. She will retreat after a few attacks, and send her boys down to play. Kill them exactly as you would the common Spider, as that is what they are. She will begin running like a crazed beast, so dodge her running tactics, and attack her after she comes to a halt. Watch out for her kids, too. She will be dead before you know it.
Pelennor Fields
Right at the start of the level, we must face off with a huge amount of enemies. You will have to destroy 60 enemies, although this should not prove to be much trouble. By now, you are likely leveled up to a high enough degree that you can pull off a few deadly combos when attacked in groups of enemies, so test out some of your mad skills against these guys until they are all gone.
This will be the checkpoint. Now, you must stop the Oliphaunts before they reach Merry and Eowin. To do this, simply lock onto it and fire those projectiles, much like you did to begin with. Once this one has been destroyed, another one will appear. To hit it, we will have to relocate. Take the arrows on the right, and head straight up.
You must avoid the enemies as much as possible as you make your way through to the other side. You must now blast away at the second Oliphaunt on the right. After you destroy it, Nazgul will show up out of nowhere, like Tupac on the Billboard Top 200.
Run to the left, and blast him with as many arrows as you can unload into him, and a third Oliphaunt will appear. The side that it appears on will be completely random, so just pay attention. Collect arrows, and blow it all to Hell. After you destroy the last Oliphaunt, you must fight with Nazgul once more. You must repeat this process until you have downed Nazgul. Once this happens, the stage will be cleared.
Minas Tirith - Courtyard
At the start of this mission, you will find out that you must save 200 civilians from the grasp of evil. To do this, position yourself near the exit, which is behind you. Begin killing any soldiers that get near you, or begin to harm anyone. Go near the right-center of the room after a while, as these enemies tend to come and go in large flocks. Any enemy that gets near, you must eliminate them swiftly.
After a while, you should begin cleaning up the leftovers. Take out any Archer that you find in the area, and search all over amongst the grounds. Watch out for the health metered enemies in this area, as well, as they are real—-literal—-lady killers. Use projectiles, for the most part, when sweeping up the area.
Once you hit the 150 save mark, several Ogres will burst through the doors. As if the terrible health metered enemies weren't enough. To defeat the Ogres, stand your distance and blast them to death with your highly productive projectiles, or you can use those lovely spears that are scattered around the area, as they will destroy those big baddies in one hit. Run around until the spears "refill," so to speak. After you save the 200 civilians, you will defeat the stage.
Cirith Angal
You will take Sam in his last solo adventure into the stage. At the start, you will notice that there is a meter, and you must kill 80 Orc guards. Perform your Special Move to turn invisible, and sneak up behind the enemy in the area with the health meter. Press the Killing Move button behind him to destroy him instantly, and get prepared to fight off several other Orc guards from here on out. Hit the Action Button on the device to lower the ramp.
To kill several of them, retreat to where you started and dump the pot of boiling coal onto the ground, which can destroy several of them easily. Now go to the second floor, where you will want to follow the path on the right through a tunnel, where you will battle several different enemies, including one with a health meter. To deal with him, Parry his attacks and counter with Fierce Attacks.
Kill the guard standing around, and go down the stairs. Here, you should quickly eliminate the two Orcs that were "arguing." Further down, you must duel with plenty of Orcs that continue to "argue" as we kill them. Tip the pot of burning coals over to eliminate a few extra Orcs, and continue on through the room. Tip over a second pot of boiling coals to kill off a few extra Orcs, and clean this ballroom, boys.
Go through into the hallway, kill around four more Orcs, and step foot into the next area filled with them. In the center of this room, you will find the seventh ring of Hell. Actually, it's just a bunch of Orcs. Stepping inside is suicide for characters that are not level 10, so unless you are, put on that Special Move and walk up the stairs on the left side of the room.
Kill a few guards on the way up, and go into the doorway to pour lava onto the guards below. Backtrack, and continue going up the stairs and killing guards, including one of the fat guards with the health meters. Afterwards, kill all of those Orcs down below by striking the chandelier onto them. That'll teach'em to mess with that kid from North. Now destroy a few more guards on this level, and you should be at or near the 80 Orc limit. Roam around killing Orcs until you reach it.
Make your way to the bottom of the stairs, and go through the double arched doorways down here. Once through, we will be back in the ballroom that I referred to earlier. Continue going down, and go over to the right. There's some health to the left, if you need it. To the right is a lever, which you should definitely hit. This will kill all of the enemies fighting below the ramp.
Walk up the ramp, and to the left. Climb up the ladder here, and go to the left once more. You will find a few enemies here, so eliminate them with Fierce Attack combos, and push the barrels off of the ledge to kill the enemies down below. Now, walk up the ramp in the background, and watch as the cut-scene ensues.
Chase the Orcs as far as possible until you are advised not to follow them any further. Instead of this, go to the right and up the stairs. Destroy the fat, health metered Orc, and use the huge bow to destroy some of the castle. You will now go into the castle from the bridge, and watch a cut-scene in the process.
You will be inside of the castle once the game resumes. You will have to face off against the Guardian Orc. First and foremost, break his shield with the Fierce Attack. Secondly, you cannot damage him normally. So instead, run over to the spear piles, and use one of them against him. It is now that he will be dazed, so run over and pull off your best combos. Repeat this against him until he is dead.
