Song of Double Time and Warped time
These two songs are often missed by those who don't hear everything the Scarecrow has to say. When talking with him either in the Astral Observatory or the General Store, he will mention that he knows of a special song that when played in reverse, can slow down time, and when played by repeating every note twice, fast forwards time.
This special song is none other than the Song of Time. To play the Song of Warped Time, simply play the Song of Time backwards. This will slow down time considerably, allowing you to get more things done per 3-day cycle, and you will find that people in Clock Town, the UFO's at Romani Ranch, and others will all move slower.
To play the Song of Double Time, play only the first three notes from the Song of Time, but play each note twice in a row. In the 3DS version of the game, you can fast forward time by the hour, all the way to the next day. In previous verisons, playing the song will forward you to the next night or dawn, depending on what time you play the song.
Lord Chapu-Chapu
This secret "boss" of a fish is hiding in the Swamp Fishing Hole. Besides being a reference to Ocarina of Time's Lord Jabu-Jabu, this fish puts up quite a battle when hooked on your line, and even has fitting boss music! You can find out how to catch him in the Fishing Guide
Interestingly enough, Miyamoto once told Famitsu Magazine that Lord Jabu-Jabu was once planned to be in the original version of Majora's Mask, and could be caught, and possibly even have an effect on the Moon.
Easy Money
Deafeat Takuri: Outside Clocktown in the Termina field head toward the Milk Road. Near the trees you will be attacked by a bird called Takuri, who is ready to steal your Rupees, and other items. If you are able to beat him you will be rewarded with 200 Rupees. You can deposit the money in the bank and then go fight Takuri again. There is no limit to how many times you can fight the him, but watch out; Takuri has a huge health bar and if he can land a decent attack on Link, he may take one of your important items. You will be forced to either buy it back from the Curiosity Shop in West Clock Town or play the Song of Time to get it back.
100 Rupees in East Clock Town: To get to this chest you will need the bunny hood. Go to the entrance to the Astral Observatory in the northern section of East Clock Town. Go to the raised platform and run across the door frames and pillars to get to the roof of the Shooting Gallery. There is a chest with 100 rupees in it on the roof. This chest will be refilled whenever you restart the 3 day cycle.
100 Rupees in the Sewer: To find this chest you will need bombs or the bomb mask. From East Clock Town, talk to the member of the Bomber's who is guarding the way to the Astral Observatory and give him the password to enter. Immediately inside turn left and swim until you reach a gate. On your left is a strip of land, climb up and find the crack in the wall. Now use the bomb mask or bombs to blow up the wall. Just on the other side of the wall is a chest containing 100 rupees. This chest will be refilled whenever you restart the 3 day cycle.
Fix the Signs
First cut up a sign then play the "Song of Healing" which is C-Left, C-Right, and C-Down. The sign will fix itself.
Fishing with Fierce Diety Link
Once you have beaten the game, and traded all of the masks for the Fierce Diety Mask, go to either the Swamp Fishing Hole or Ocean Fishing Hole. Inside is one of the few areas in the game you can actually equip the Fierce Diety Mask. You won't be able to use his sword, and it might not have a huge effect on fishing, but if you try to leave, the man at the desk will tell you to take off your terrifying mask first!
Owl Statue Warp Glitch
There is a glitch that allows the player to warp to any owl statues in the game. As you may already know, playing the Song of Soaring sends the player to the Great Bay Coast statue by default, if no remote owls have previously been activated. However, the default location can be changed.
To perform the glitch, start by hovering over a point on the map in your Pause menu. For example, you might choose Deku Palace. From there, immediately unpause and play the Song of Soaring. The position of the cursor on the map that appears should indicate Mountain Village as the destination. This is a functional warp.
You can continue to use the glitch to reach other areas as your selection of destinations quickly increases without any need to actually explore. The list of places you can highlight on the map to arrive at a new owl statue is as follows:
- Great Bay leads to Great Bay Coast
- Zora Hall leads to Zora Cape
- Romani Ranch leads to Snowhead
- Deku Palace leads to Mountain Village
- Woodfall leads to Clock Town
- Clock Town leads to Milk Road
- Snowhead leads to Woodfall
- Ikana Graveyard leads to Southern Swamp
- Ikana Canyon leads to Ikana Canyon
- Goron Village leads to Stone Tower
- Stone Tower leads to Dungeon Entrance
Note that the last of those options is currently not useful, as it will soft lock your game. The same is true of the 'R' and 'Z' button prompts on the map screen. Use of this glitch allows you to skip large portions of the game.
Fierce Deity Link Forever
Follow these steps to wear the Fierce Diety mask anywere.
- Go to a pool of water that you can walk into, (like the one in Termina Field).
- Equip both the Zora mask and the Fierce Deity mask.
- Put on the Zora mask and walk in the water so the water is up to Link's waist.
- Take off the mask.
- Dive down until Link's hand touches the bottom.
- QUICKLY put on the Zora mask.
- Now make Zora Link try to swim to shore. But he won't move(!)
- If done right, Link should do a roll attack and then the B button should be disabled.
- Put the Fierce Diety mask were the Zora mask is, (don't take it off).
- You should be able to put the Fierce Diety mask on.
Note: To take it off, swim in some water, and you'll be able to take it off.
Fierce Deity Link Forever II
- Go out and call Epona and have the Fierce Deity Link Mask set on any C-button.
- Ride out to Milk Road.
- Save with the Owl Statue while on Epona.
- Reload the file.
- Race the Gorman Bros.
- As soon as the race starts, put on Fierce Deity Link's Mask.
When the race ends, you will remain Fierce Deity Link! DON'T SAVE! You will never be able to transform back if you do.
Fierce Deity Link Forever III
You can wear the Fierce Deity's Mask around Termina if you follow a certain process. First, play the Song of Passing to skip to the third day, then head for Sakon's hideout. Once there, equip the Bunny Hood mask and position Link so that he is lined up with the right crack on the boulder that blocks Sakon's hideout. Run toward the wall now, and roll directly into the crack. If you time it properly, Link jumps into the wall and appears inside the hideout. Next, step on the button to switch to Kafei, while still wearing the Bunny Hood. Then as Kafei, open your menu and switch the Bunny Hood with the Fierce Deity's Mask. Switching back to Link from there causes him to instantly turn into the Fierce Deity. Clear the area and then leave to explore Termina as the Fierce Deity.
No-Damage Blast Mask
Hold the R button to defend and then push the B button to active the Blast Mask and you won't take any damage from the explosion. The only drawback is that you can't move.
Invisible Fairy Sword Glitch
Equip the Fairy Sword and attempt to place it into a mailbox. After the mailbox delivers its text box, Link should have an invisible sword.
Stone Mask Secret
A hidden feature of the Stone Mask is that it will camouflage Link. This is helpful because most of the enemies will not be able to see you. Bosses will still be able to see you, but most of the typical "run-of-the-mill" bad guys will ignore you.
Star Fox Easter Egg
When you have a proper collection of masks in the game, pay attention to the second row of masks: the Keaton Mask, the Bremen Mask, the Bunny Hood, the Don Gero mask, and the Mask of Scents. Respectively, they are masks modeled after a fox, a bird, a rabbit, a frog, and a pig, which is an apparent reference to the Starfox team consisting of Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy (as well as Pigma, originally a part of that same team).
