Lum Collecting Guide
Rayman Legends contains collectable currency in the form of little dancing Lums. These guys can be used to unlock costumes in the Heroes Gallery, but in order to unlock the final costume worth a million Lums, you may need a Lum Collecting Guide.
Lums appear in every level, and are awarded for major milestones in the game. There are different ways to collect Lums, and not all of them are as fast. For example, most level contain upwards of 700 Lums, more if you are using the Wii U Gamepad to find additional Lums. However, looking at the big picture, you'd need to play every level hundreds of times over to even make a dent.
Lums can also be awarded from Lucky Tickets awarded by finding a certain number of Lums in each level. The Lucky Tickets have a chance of having 3 or more Lums. 3 Lums wins you 500, 4 Lums wins you 1,000, 5 Lums wins you 5,000, and getting all 6 Lums on a Lucky Ticket wins you 10,000. However, these lucky tickets are finite, and will most often award other things like Origins levels, but should be collected and used nonetheless.
Lucky Tickets also award Creatures. While the Creatures themselves don't do much other than float around the Creature Gallery, they do come with Lums, and the more Creatures you collect, the more Lums you'll find in the Gallery with them every day. Just by returning to the creature gallery once a day you can help collect a few hundred to almost a thousand lums if you collect all the creatures.
Lums are also awarded for completing major portions of the game, like beating the bosses of worlds, getting every Teensy, and getting Gold Lum Cups for every level in a world. In fact, completing both the main game and Back to Origins with every Teensy and Gold Lum Cup will award you a whopping 40,000 Lums!
But then the Lums dry up. Suddenly you have nothing more to unlock, no levels to beat, no tickets to scratch. The answer is Challenges. Challenges, which are hosted online, pit you against the community in several different stages depending on your Awesomeness Rank. By the end of the game, you can compete in a Daily Challenge, a Daily Extreme Challenge, a Weekly Challenge, and a Weekly Extreme Challenge. If you have the skill, you can earn thousands of Lums every day just by competing. Challenges vary from traveling the farthest, traveling the fastest, or collecting Lums the fastest. Stages span from the Dojo, the Land of the Livid Dead, Murfy's Dungeon, The Infinite Tower and The Neverending Pit, and the stages constantly change obstacles to keep players guessing.
Winning a Diamond Cup in an ordinary Daily Challenge can net you 10,000 Lums. Thats 10,000 Lums a day just for a daily challenge. If you can manage to score a Diamond Cup in the Weekly Extreme Challenge, you can find yourself winning 25,000 Lums. So in short, do Challenges every day, and do your best, and you may find yourself getting 1 million Lums before you know it!
It also appears that by connecting your game to Ubisoft's Uplay account, you can spend Uplay points earned in the game for Lums
