General Tips
Jedi
As in many Star Wars offerings, you'll be wielding a lightsaber throughout most of the campaign. Jedi have the ability to use the Force to manipulate items that are shrouded with an aura that matches your lightsaber. Also, you'll now be able to throw your lightsaber by holding the Attack Button and moving the control stick to aim.
Sith
The Sith are the dark counterparts of the Jedi. Sith have the ability to use the Force, and Force Lightning (B). A Sith is required to find many of the minikits since objects only they can manipulate are shrouded with a red aura which matches their lightsaber. You will need to go to the Republic ships hanger, choose a ship from the control panel just in front of the big one, and when the ship appears get in it (Y) and fly to the separatist ship. Fly next to the separatist ship and use (Y) to enter it. When you are in the hangar you will find Count Dooku, but he costs 250,000 studs to purchase so be sure to stock up first.
Clones (and other blaster characters)
FIRE EVERYTHING! You may not have a lightsaber, but you can shoot at (usually) rapid fire from long distance. In addition, you can dodge bullets by tapping your Attack Button before a bolt hits you. All blaster characters have the ability to grapple on to designated hooks. Depending on the situations, you can reach areas out of your reach or pull items towards you. The Clones are differentiated by their weapons (or rank). You'll find that Commanders are able to corral their troops and send them to a specific target (good for destroying gold blocks. Minigun Clones are able to destroy gold blocks as well, and Rocket Clones are able to destroy silver blocks.
Droids
Droids like R2-D2 and C-3PO are great for opening doors. R2-D2 has the ability to hover, but the game will hold your hand through that portion of the appropriate level. You'll also occasionally find some consoles that can only be activated by enemy droids. Here, you'll need to behead a blue droid. Once you do, you'll be able to put its head on like a hat and interact with the respective console.
Large-scale Battles
You'll come across a handful of large-scale battles throughout the campaign. They borrow from the real-time strategy genre, but the difficulty curve is fairly low. All you need to focus on is destroying each and every Separatist piece of machinery. Some Separatist equipment will be plated with silver or gold armor. Silver armor can be destroyed by rocket-fire as demonstrated by basic cannons, while gold armor can be destroyed by focused Clone attack or the RX-200 Tank. When you have captured a zone, you can build your own vehicles and equipment to assist you. Typically, when you capture each Separatist zone, you'll complete the (portion of the) level.
Robonino
Robonino, for whatever reason, is one of the most valuable characters you'll use in Free Play mode. He can interact with consoles that require electricity, he can crawl through small holes, and he can grapple. To unlock him, you need to complete the Hostage Crisis mission on the Separatist ship (or you can enter his unlock code: 2KLW5R).
Unlocking Characters
Characters can be unlocked by buying them in the main hub world and also by visiting the incubator room after collecting all ten Minikits in any level. Bounty Hunters like Robonino and Aurra Sing can be unlocked after playing the Hostage Crisis level on the Separatist ship.
Red Bricks
Red Bricks essentially serve as your GameShark. You can find the Red Bricks spread out through the hub world, and buying them will grant you abilities that will make your adventure much easier. For example, if you collect the Red Bricks that multiply your score by 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, you can effectively have any stud's worth multiply by 3840. Wow.
Gold Bricks
There are a total of 130 Gold Bricks in the game. You can earn these bricks by completing levels, earning True Jedi status in levels, collecting all 10 Minikits in a level, completing Ground Assault missions, completing Space Assault missions, and completing a Bounty Hunter missions.
Bounty Hunter Missions
To access the Bounty Hunter missions (find the target character within the time limit), head over to the Separatist ship and go talk to Jabba (complete the Hostage Crisis mission and he'll be in the room where you access that mission).
