Razer
Before starting Hellblade, Ninja Theory was working with a publisher on a game called Razer. Razer had a sci-fi aestehtic and elements that resembled an MMO. Its main fighting mechanics were a mixture of melee and gun based combat. The innovaitve hook for Razer was that players would be working together to take down a single boss over months or years. The game failed greenlight because the publisher feared that it could not compete against Destiny. Therefore, Ninja Theory and the publisher tried to rework Razer into something new. However, as this processed continued, Ninja Theory felt that the publisher was no longer allowing them to follow their creative vision. This led to Ninja Theory adopting their Independent AAA approach, leaving us with nothing left of Razer except for concept art and footage. You can read more about this here and here.
