Mission 18 - Awakening

After V merges back into Vergil, he becomes one, and escapes. He wants to fight Dante when he's at full strength. Dante and Nero have a revelatory discussion.
Nico gives Dante the Kalina Ann II (Dante's second, if you followed our walkthrough for Mission 11 - Reason).
Learn Double Kalina Ann - Cascade if you have two, and High Explosive if you only have one.
Run forward when the mission starts. You'll soon encounter V's "Pets" - Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare. You'll learn they were born of Vergil's "abdominal thoughts" when he was Nelo Angelo, but they are now free, and wish to kill Dante of their own free will.
First, you must face Griffon. Stay on top of him, giving him little room to breathe. You should recognize the moves he uses as your time as V. If he starts charging up, back off.
After forcing him into recovery orb mode and chipping away at his health, Griffon will flee. Chase after him.
Hop up to the ledge on the right to find a Blood Clot at the end. Destroy it. Then hop down where the red orbs are to guide you.
Go behind the bloody elevator and stand on the puddle of blood for a few seconds to earn a secret orb cache.
In the next area, you'll fight Shadow, and more formidable opponent than Griffon. Take your time - he'll be using the same attacks you're used to.
After defeating Shadow - or rather, causing him to retreat for now - follow after him, hopping up the two ledges.
Now is your opportunity to earn a Blue Orb Fragment. You'll see three Red Empusas spawn. Defeat them quickly to cause a Blue Orb Fragment to appear. Gather it, then continue to the right.
Destroy the Blood Clot in front of you. Two sword-and-shield wielding enemies will attack you. If you knock them down, you can proceed to one-shot them with a charged-up Double Kalina Ann attack (if you bought Cascade at our suggestion).
Now, go back to the ledges you saw Shadow take that brought you to this level. There are additional ledges above them. Climb them to the next fight - Shadow and Griffon at the same time.
If you can, activate Sin Devil Trigger as soon as possible and use Sin Stinger by holding forward RB/R1 + Y to skewer your opponent, preferably Shadow. This should make fairly short work of the pair.
Once they've run off, follow them to another bloody transportation vein.
On the other side, use the Customization statue on the right if you need to before continuing.
Now, Dante will have the final fight with V's three familiars. Shadow, Griffon, and Nightmare all share the health bar, but must each be defeated.
Focus your attacks on Nightmare first, while remember to transfer your Devil Trigger gauge into your Sin Devil Trigger gauge by holding LB.
Once it's activated, again, use Sin Stinger by holding forward RB/R1 + Y to demolish your targets one at a time.
Be wary of Griffons lighting attacks - when they shoot out in a V formation (ha) be ready to jump over them, as they'll close in on you.
More importantly, avoid Nightmare's giant laser beam. It does a huge amount of damage, but if you can close the distance with Trickster and get behind it, you can get plenty of free shots off on it.
After defeating them, Griffon tells Dante "Godspeed" on his mission to defeat Vergil.
In the next cutscene, Nero jumps from the van, determined to face Vergil.
