In its current state, I can’t really recommend Palworld to most people. I’ve hit the grind wall for this game, which starts at level 20+ and man it gets sluggish from its slow and repetitive gameplay. The open world is free to do anything in, but simultaneously has nothing to do in it. And this loop of catch, upgrade, build, catch, gets boring after a while.
Maybe in a couple of months the game will be updated and recommendable as it is still in early access, but Palworld is just not there yet. And this is being said from a guy who loves survival games, so it’s upsetting tbh.
How is this DLC free!?!? A lot of content, more story, completely reworked gameplay, a new roster of enemies. It’s surprising how big this is for a free DLC.
The game is difficult which I really like, but honestly it’s just not fun.
Repeating the same level over and over again is tedious, mastering each and every move is monotonous, and with input lag issues literally built into the game I can just not recommend it.
Maybe I’ll come back to it someday and enjoy it more then, but until this Sifu is a disappointment to me.
Despite having some poorly handed parkour at times, some iffy level design in areas, and let’s be honest, pretty awful combat, Ori still is a solid 6 hour title if you can get it for cheap. Don’t spend more than $10-15 on it though because it really isn’t worth more.
Really great puzzle game. 100%ed everything that was worth while, at the end tho it does seem like a lot of filler levels that are just repeats of previous levels were added to pad out the run time.
Despite having a bit finicky gameplay, SotC is a fantastic title. Its puzzle are stupendous, it’s visuals are gorgeous, its soundtrack is beautiful, and its story is simple yet strong. Basically a perfect game, or I should say, experience.
This review would be a high 8 or 9 if it wasn’t for the crashes on PC and the (imo) piss poor DLC they released (except for OWB).
The base game is fantastic despite its flaws in gameplay and truly boasts relatability and forming the story you want told. If you can ignore the gameplay issues, then this game is a must play.
It was… enjoyable? The game is mechanically solid and quite polished, along with have great visuals in the Borderlands style.
Issue is, it’s just not that fun to play. I used this game as a supplement for my melatonin, as playing it often made me quite sleepy. As a Borderlands fan, I’m a bit disappointed to be honest. It wasn’t terrible by any means, just not the best.
