Lies of P Review
great
Lies of P might not branch out particularly far from its soulslike inspiration, but it plays the part extremely well.

Summary
Lies of P is a challenging action game with a unique "lie" system where what you do & say as the main character dynamically affects gameplay. The game's story is a unique, darker twist on the classic story of Pinocchio.

Good Souls-like game set in the fantasy-meets-reality world of Pinocchio.
Definitely worth a play through if you are a fan of these games but like all Souls-like games, it just isn't as good as the real thing.
6/10 given mainly as it feels difficult for the sake of being difficult in some boss fights, and too much emphasis on blocking/parrying makes dodging feel almost useless.

Lies of P capitalizes on some of the biggest disconnects (for me) in all the SoulsBorne games.
It mixes this perfect balance of challenging combat, ambiguous world, mystery in discovery with a clear, concise narrative.
It tackles challenging bosses while finding ways to help elevate the players who may not be looking for the grueling headache while still providing some pushback.
Its skill trees and weapon mechanics are beautifully done.
One of best crafted games I've ever played. Some of the most fun I've had in an action adventure game. It's such a gem

Easily the best souls-like game I’ve played outside of the actual fromsoft games. The setting is very immersive and the story is easy to follow but also interesting. The combat is fun and interesting. The mechanical arm plus the quartz to level up specific abilities is a great way to allow for a variety of builds. Looking forward to whatever comes next from this series.

This game is difficult, sometimes even unfair. But I assure you there's nothing like the satisfaction that you get after beating a boss/level in which you've been stucked for a while. Great game for the people who enjoy souls-like titles like this. I also like the darkness and cruelty this game has considering it's based on a story I used to read and watch when I was a child.

The closest anyone has come to replicating a FromSoft souls game.
The combat is imperfect but fun, and the story is surprisingly great. I fully expected to feel the reverse, but I found myself really liking all the trimmings around the game more than the main draw of the game.
Also, someone at Round 8 Studios had some really great ideas about how to fold in religious iconography into a gritty Pinocchio universe. I especially liked the statue that is a play on La Pieta, and the boss that has a Sistine Chapel motif.

When i finished this game, i just fell in love with it, i want to 100% this game. I am currently on my second run to beat the boss at the very end of the game (that will make sense when you understand the context). I absolutely recommended this game, and for anyone new too souls like games, then i really suggest the easier difficulty for a first run, i didn't and regretted it, though i did have to learn the game very quickly that way

Soulslike, but a whole lot closer to bloodbourne which personally I love cause it has been my favorite soulsborne to date. It’s a little difficult at times, but that’s why we play, to get gud.

Amazing surprise of a souls-like.
First case I’ve seen of a non-From game being at the level of a From game in presentation, world design, combat, characters, and general feel.
Worth putting in 3 playthroughs minimum and definitely looking forward to any upcoming DLC or sequels.

Incredible Souls like game that you could have easily mistaken for being a From Soft developed game.
Very satisfying and challenging combat with Interesting weapon variety.
Beautiful graphics.
Amazing enemy and boss designs once you master the delayed attacks.
Very satisfying parry mechanic
Great music throughout especially form the collectible records.
Runs absolutely flawlessly on XSX and had zero bugs or glitches.
Only downside is that the areas are very linear and could have been a bit more open.
One of the best games I have played this year and pushed me to get 100% achievements over 3 play throughs and loved every minute

Maybe souls games aren't for me? Loved the atmosphere and the feeling of overcoming a tough boss, but controls were sometimes finnicky and it's incredibly aggravating that your attacks could be interrupted but enemy ones couldn't (just make it so either both can or both can't please). Ended up more frustrating than fun, which is a shame cause I've heard people rave about this game.

this game is a little bit hard and the movement is not smooth, there's some enemies You can't block their blows. They follow you very quickly and the swords don't have many combos. I didn't like it.
