Redfall Review
bad
Redfall is a bafflingly bad time across the board. Plagued with bland missions, boneheaded enemies, and repeated technical problems, Redfall simply wasn’t ready for daylight in this state.

Redfall News
I played this on Series X with a friend. We encountered our fair share of bugs which seemed to build up the longer our sessions went. Overall I would have been mad to pay full price for this game but, for being on Game Pass, I was happy with my time spent in it. I won't go back, but I don't regret playing through it. We completed the main story as well as all the side quests and it took about 16 hours.
The fact that this game is full of glitchy graphics and stupid AI, I don't recommend buying, it's good that there is a refund in Steam Store
MUITO BOM EVOLUTIVO E ATMOSFERA PERFEITA FALTA MENOS BUGS PRA I.A ESTABILIZAR PARA LOOT DE PROPORÇÃO NA DIFICULDADES
An unfortunate mismanagement of a great studio and wasn’t given enough time to get it right
Should have been single player but good on Arkane for trying something new
I already knew, despite agreeing this game wasn't exactly great, that it was never as bad as people made it out to be and never deserved the overly negative hate it received. That's because i played it for six hours when it released, and despite my choice then to wait for the 60 fps patch before continuing on, i found the game actually fun and enjoyable. Perhaps lacking a great main story, sure, but making up for it in world building and side story content just the way Arkane is known for.
Unfortunately, this too was ignored as manufactured hate was in full force when the game came out, and with it being an xbox game it carried -as always- all sorts of disproportionately negative opinions and reviews, mostly from people who never even touched the game to begin with or barely made it through the first 30 minutes, and others from reviewers happy to nitpick on everything when it comes to xbox games while completely ignoring similar issues also present in other titles on competing platforms.
Redfall is a decent game. It's not even close to a masterpiece, but it's a decent game. It runs well, the gameplay loop is fun as are the skills and the combat, which is now even better and more responsive at 60. Some of the writing is meh or downright cringe at times and this is something I cannot disagree with. Some of it though is the excellent Arkane work you expect to find in their games, and when the immersive sim aspect kicks in in the open maps it really IS a lot of fun. It feels and plays like one of their games and for a project that wasn't even supposed to release they really put passion in it and it shows, if you give it a chance.
This game is something new and refreshing in the beginning but I assume many will understand that halfway through the game you will find certain things repeat at a slow but constant basis as you traverse the game it becomes tedious having to run from point A to B without there being anything else than the usual enemy during the time to reach point B. This game although I can say for certain was "fun" fun comes at the cost of patience as you find yourself needing to hunt specific vampires for their skulls known as "under bosses" to unlock the actual boss vampires for the game which I found unbelievably time consuming as you are forced to collect said skulls by wandering the map, finding a "safehouse" and then completing two missions (with these missions being recycled onto another safehouse) to then finally fight the "under boss" to collect his or her's skull. It could take you possibly hours as you have to come across these safehouses by chance or by just searching up their locations which will still take you hours to reach every single one (remember all under bosses must be killed to gain access to the true vampire bosses for the game) as well as the fact that the vampires you fight will just suddenly teleport right in front of you to stop you from escaping or the watchers will just shoot you with their Lazer beam eyes or whatever as they alert all enemies within a 3 mile radius. Now as much as I've complained about this and that the game isn't bad, it just needed a lot of kinks to work it out and it was actually getting those quality of life improvments but then Microsoft had no choice but to shut it down right when it was about to make a come back to save money. I truly did enjoy this game for it's lore, immersion and gratifying feeling when you actually roam around in the game, breaking into seperate houses finding something like a legendary weapon or a possible SPOILER: murder seen to thicken the plot. I hope you give it a chance and that this comment helps GB.
