Check out this perfect squat animation in Maya from Ramon Arango, complete with sound effects seemingly captured from this intrepid social media manager's last trip to the gym... 😅
Perfect Squat ! A difficult pose to achieve in 3D. Often rigs struggle to bend the knee more than 90 degrees producing intersections, loss of volume, pointy kneecap and other weirdness. There are many approaches to solve that issue, mine was to use corrective joints and also separate the upper and lower legbones the more the knee bends. That preserves at least a semblance of anatomy. This rig will be available soon on my gumroad. More to come :)

Sometimes we post stuff because it's *just so satisfying* to watch on a loop. This is most definitely one of those occasions. "Tumble Tower" by digital artist Kinetic Graphics was made in Blender and heavily inspired by Javad Taba's abstract animation work. See more of their stuff here (https://lnkd.in/enADEGBj) and here (https://linktr.ee/smjty), respectively.

This is the latest from the 2.5D side-scroller action RPG indie "Mandragora", which has deep Metroidvania and Soulslike elements. In addition to parkour elements, Primal Games' upcoming title has a narrative by Brian Mitsoda, the writer behind "Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines". Find out more and wishlist it here: https://lnkd.in/e5VmZ2js.

Netflix senior environment artist Tyler Smith shared another beautiful scene made in Unreal Engine 5 on his ArtStation page. Tyler was looking to create something tranquil without heavy color saturation in "Lunar Moths" and we'd say he succeeded emphatically. See the full project and more of his beautiful work here: https://lnkd.in/ecR7XUCG.

Check out the superb capabilities of "Rig Creator", a free Blender add-on from talented 3D Animator/Illustrator Edward Ureña. Rig Creator allows you to generate/position bones, apply weights, and more, even though it's only at the beta stage. Read more about what it can do and try it out here on Edward's Gumroad page: https://lnkd.in/ewwYtSbq.

You can use your police helicopter to stop criminals in "The Precinct" from Fallen Tree Games, though it's not exactly by the book... 🚁 The neon-noir 80s action sandbox indie has PS1 Grand Theft Auto vibes and is coming August 15 to Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X. Find out more and wishlist it here: https://lnkd.in/ef5eJqeq.

Prolific environment artist Maarten Hof created this "contained" (😅) gameplay space using Blender, Substance Designer/Painter, and Unreal Engine 5. The intention is for the environment to be used as a competitive map for a shooter. It can be used on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Check out the full project breakdown and find out where you can grab it here: https://lnkd.in/ejAbgnDX.

"Szrot", a "CaRPG" by indie developer duo Gustaw Mackay & Hjalte T., is a low-poly love letter to the cars and cultures of Eastern Europe. This early race track prototype clip reminds us of the Test Drive series from the PS1, in which you could race through our home city of Newcastle upon Tyne. You can find out more about the title and wishlist it here: https://lnkd.in/ekiy4z3Y. (There's also an active Discord you can join, too!)

“Pixel Window” from scientific designer Hakusi Katei is a prototype lens that uses no electricity to turn the real world into Minecraft. ⚡️ It can lower the resolution of scenery regardless of distance or movement. It can help create beautiful pixel art, or it can just be fun to play around with. You can keep up with its development on Hakusi's website: https://lnkd.in/eGDuQ96x.
