Melissa Rogerson is a Lecturer in the School of Computing and Information Systems. Her research has focused on the hobbyist experience of modern boardgames. It examines what players value about boardgames and boardgame play, as well as how they use the game and its components during play. Her research has been published at Game Studies conferences, in Games and Culture, and at the CHI conference in Human-Computer Interaction. Melissa's current research examines hybrid boardgames which combine physical pieces with digital elements.
