Right ow in the current state of the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game makes is ridiculously stupid to traverse the map. Every time you take a step forward you go 5x backwards. Honestly if i could get a refund on this game i would. Terrible game.

This game is designed to waste your time. It is fun and alluring at first but after 20 hours in it is a total GRIND! The amount of materials you need to craft one item and then that item having an rng element to it where you can end up crafting a worthless one, is frustrating. Then once you wasted 4x as many materials as you need on getting a good rng roll, the item breaks and can only be repaired to 80% and following repairs to even less! Eventually your rng item is just gone!!

But, by far the worst mechanic is the base decay. It happens WAY TO QUICKLY. You are forced to put wood in your bonfire to extend the decay time, but the devs only let you extend the decay time out to 2 days max - meaning, you MUST log in at least once every 2 days. WE DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME. I have logged in twice to half my base gone and all of my items gone. This is by the far the worst mechanic. Punishing players for not playing the game is the quickest way to fizzle out your game.

I have a lot of fun with this game. I am hosting the game privately though, so I am able to change certain settings for QOL reasons.

It has some similarities with Conan Exiles, especially the fighting, climbing, and capturing thralls. Thralls are much more useful/lively/active in this game though, and you can also take them as companions to help you fight.

You can even play AS them, which is actually a huge feature of the game. Permadeath is a thing for everyone except your starting character though, until you've progressed (and even then, you have a limit on how many you can immortalise).

Why would you play as another character? A few reasons. First of all, your starting character is mundane in this world. They have no special skills, and have a low proficiency limit. All they did was manage to escape being sacrificed and found a mask which has now given them certain powers.

Some players say you ARE the mask, but it feels more like you gained the ability to jump to other characters with your mind, as your original character will just sit down forever when you're playing another character. It's not like Kenshi where the "main character" is only in your head.

Captured thralls can have much higher proficiencies, special skills, as well as many buffs/debuffs. The higher their level the more of these they can have. If you capture a low level thrall, they can gain buffs and lose debuffs as they level up, which is a nice reward for the time spent levelling them.

A third reason to play as other characters is to level THEM faster. Eg you want your armourer to get to a higher level faster, you can get buffs on yourself, or through your mask skills, play as the thrall and level them faster.

The map is huge imo. I don't know how it compares to other MMO's but I still have plenty to see.

Fighting is pretty cool, and battles can be intense vs bosses, especially if you're playing as a thrall. Playing as your original character, you can just respawn at a nearby campfire you placed, but i your thrall dies, he's either gone for good, or, IF you have saved them, you have to respawn them back at base, which takes time.

There is a "downed" mechanic, so even when you have lost all hp, you can still be saved/save yourself.
