This collection as a whole might be the peak of the Ace Attorney series so far, along with Investigations 2 (which is FINALLY getting localized). Labeling Chronicles as a collection of two games is a bit of a stretch; this is very much one long game where the first half is setup and the second half is payoff. The tried-and-true investigation and courtroom formula is done well, with the deduction dances and jury system acting as new twists to keep things fresh. Most of the cases are up there with the best of the series, and even the more middling ones are still enjoyable.

Visually, this is easily the best the series has ever looked. The animations are fluid and expressive and a joy to watch. The orchestral soundtrack is also delightful, and everything comes together in an excellent presentation of the setting and time period.

This is a must-play for fans of the series and could even be a good place to start if you're interested in Ace Attorney but somehow haven't bought the original trilogy collection that's been ported to every device known to man.

This is probably the best ace attorney game, in my opinion. The plot is completed over the span of both games and had me kicking my feet in the air at some of the reveals. I really could go on forever about how good the writing for some of the characters backstories are! It flowed well and the presenting of evidence was a perfect balance of puzzling yet made me feel smart for selecting them the first try or so. I loved how the 3D models animations flow into each-other very well in this game, it was just a slight thing that bugged me about the 3D models in PWAA, but that's just me being picky. The different approaches in this game are fab, from persuading the jury to dancing about with Sholmes, it kept the game interesting with these different game play experiences. I also enjoyed the inclusion of learning about Japanese and British history as you solve the cases and was happy to see a relatively intense portrayal of period typical racism. I would highly recommend you play this game!!
