The Select Committee was a secret entity that guided the five major organizations of Commission for the Preservation of the New Order: the Imperial Security Bureau, the Sub-Adult Group, the Coalition for Progress, the Coalition for Improvements, and CompForce. Orders from the Select Committee filtered through the organization despite its structure and membership being unknown. It was rumored that the Select Committee had between a few hundred members to several thousand, but the Committee never confirmed or specified details.^[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Select Committee was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in Dawn of Rebellion, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.^[1] The Select Committee debuted in the Star Wars Legends continuity when it was first mentioned in Imperial Sourcebook, a 1989 supplement book for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.^[3]
