Louisiana Department of Revenue strives to be a results-based, innovative, and focused organization that is capable of rapidly responding to the needs of its citizens/stakeholders.

The Department exists to reasonably and efficiently collect state tax revenues to fund public services and regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and charitable gaming within Louisiana.

Resolving any outstanding tax you owe as soon as possible is essential. Penalty and interest will be added to your debt and will continue to accrue until the amount is paid in full. Penalty charges can range from .5% to 25%.

If you do not pay your taxes, you will be mailed a notice of tax due bill. This is your opportunity to resolve the debt before the Department initiates collection enforcement actions. Your payment options include satisfying the liability in full or enter into an installment agreement.
