FAQ

What is the meaning of the different colors in the guide?
In the guide, various colors are used to indicate the following things:

Color

Meaning

Red
Enemies/bosses or information of the upmost importance.
Orange
Logeath Pages, needed for certain ending conditions.
Purple
Shards, upgrades, conjures - you need to collect all of these for a trophy (Ectoplasm and Nectar are not needed)
Yellow
Items - you are free to skip consumables if you choose to. They do make boss fights much easier.
Green
NPCs mentioned will always be this color so you don't miss any important interactions.
Bold
Anything important to keep an eye on

How does the moon cycle work?
The game constantly cycles between New Moon (day) and Dead Moon (night). The Dead Moon lasts for 3:40 minutes. In dungeons, the cycle does not happen. During New Moon, the (type of) enemies will be easier. Furthermore, in towns, NPCs will be friendly, so you will be able to talk to them. This also includes any Merchants in towns, so you can only use their shops during a New Moon. Once the Dead Moon cycle starts, the current area will reload and harder enemies will spawn. Also, in towns, NPCs will now attack you. You are free to kill them, as they will be revived as soon as the New Moon comes again. The Groundskeepers NPCs (who spawn outside towns) will only be available to buy supplies from during either New (outside the fortress) or Dead Moon (inside the fortress). You can check the world map to see where they are situated. Lastly, Hunter enemies (mini-bosses) only spawn during Dead Moon. Once you kill them, they will appear in the nearby town and exchange your Remains for Coins.

Do I need to talk to every NPC like you indicate?
Only if you want a 100% save file. If you are strictly here for the trophies, talking to NPCs can be skipped entirely, except for one clear instance and Merchants/Groundskeepers.

Can I use "Continue" when in a Game Over?
Yes, you can. However, this will take a large part of your coins (50%). At certain parts in the walkthrough, you will be exchanging Remains for a lot of coins in order to buy something important from a nearby Merchant/Groundskeeper. In those instances, you are advised to reload the save when you do, to make sure you have enough coins to buy the indicated items. In other parts of the walkthrough, you will purposefully be low on coins, so you can use continue as many times as you want. Remains are never lost, so that's why most of the currency is kept in Remains. Also, be aware that any items you used before the Game Over screen will not be replenished when you Continue. So if you use up all your potions and die to a boss, you will respawn without any potions, effectively making the next try even harder.

What if I am too low on Remains or Coins to buy the things you indicate?
There is a farm spot available in the game to easily get large quantities of Remains. Considering they can be exchanged for coins, it won't be a problem to get your currency back in order. You will use this farming spot twice, but you are free to use it whenever needed.

Which conjures/(passive) skills should I use for getting through the game?
You are free to use whichever you prefer. Only at specific parts of the walkthrough will you be advised to use certain conjures or passive skills to aid in exploration or battle.

How do upgrades work?
There are 4 types of upgrades:
  • Nectar (5x) - these increase your maximum HP
  • Ectoplasm (7x) - these increase your maximum MP
  • Whip length upgrades - making your reach longer
  • Whip power upgrades - making your whip more powerful

Whip length and power upgrades do NOT stack, but the previous upgrade gets replaced. So if you buy a later upgrade, you can skip purchasing the earlier upgrade altogether, thus saving coins.

How do I get the various endings?
The ending conditions are as follows:
  • Bad Ending - Defeat Bael without collecting all Logaeth Pages and without defeating all Hunter mini bosses
  • Bitter Ending - Defeat Bael with either all Logeath Pages collected OR all Hunter mini bosses defeated
  • True Ending - Defeat Bael with all Logeath Pages collected AND all Hunter mini bosses defeated

I want to explore on my own, can't you simply provide details on how to get each trophy?
Yes. There is also an upcoming DLC trophy guide being written, only giving information on how to get each trophy. The guide you are currently reading is tailored to an optimized runthrough, without excessive exploration.

How is this walkthrough structured?
The game has been split up into multiple parts, each ending with a boss fight. Within each part, the locations are used as the headers, followed by step-by-step directions. Important stuff to keep track off has been color-coded.

Are there any missable trophies?
There are 4 missable trophies in total. Two of these are connected to the Bad and Bitter endings because once you lock-in the True Ending, you cannot revert to a different ending unless you have an earlier save. The other two missable trophies are for defeating a boss and a hunter without taking damage as these cannot be repeated.

How exactly do the Groundskeepers work as the map shows 8 locations, but elsewhere in the guide, it lists there are only 4?
In each corner of the map is a main dungeon for a total of 4. In the area outside of each dungeon is a Groundskeeper with its own inventory. These Groundskeepers will appear outside the dungeon during a new moon, but will appear inside the nearby dungeon during a dead moon. So whether the Groundskeeper is outside or inside, it's actually the same Groundskeeper! The moon state just determines where they are at any given time.

Part 1 - Preparation and defeating Valafar

Title Screen

Select Classic Mode 2 from the Extra Mode menu and start a new game. You can use Options to skip the intro cutscene.

GOETIA

Once you gain control, go left and talk with the Rul’sha NPC beside the water once she flies close, then go back east and talk with the Lili NPC. Continue east and smash the first candle you reach to obtain Coins x 25. Now climb the steps to the right and talk to the Rul’sha NPC, then enter the door on the platform to reach a save room. Grab the Horus Eye x 1 from the chest and save your game. Exit the room once done, smash the candle to the right to obtain another Coins x 25 and then talk with the nearby Lili NPC. Enter the next room on the right to find the town Merchant and buy the following with coins:
  • Horus Eye x2 - 40.

Now exit the shop and talk with the nearby Sabnock NPC and Lili NPC, then take the far right exit to reach the next area.

ASPHODEL STEPPE

Head right through the area and take the far-right exit.

FOREST OF MADNESS

Continue right through this area and take the far east exit.

ABYSSAL PATH

Follow the path to the right and it will eventually lead you through the far east exit and into the next village.

THEURGIA

Go down the steps and enter the bottom door to find a save room, then save your game. Now grab the Horus Eye x 1 from the chest to the left and exit the room. Talk to the Sabnock NPC to the right and then take the southeast exit.

MAW OF OUROBOROS

Make your way through this area and take the east exit.

ENTRANCE

Smash the 2 candles and then enter the save room through the middle door. Save your game, then exit the same way you entered and take the right exit.

TARTARUS

Go to the far right of this area to find a tombstone, then crouch in front of it to make it get struck by a bolt of lightning and reveal a hidden tomb. Go down the steps into the tomb and loot the chest for the Omurice x 1 (do not skip this item).

Leave the tomb afterwards and climb the first step to the left once back outside to find yourself near the middle of the area. By this point, it should be almost a dead moon, if not already, which changes a few things, including spawning more powerful enemies and increasing drop rates. So now farm the Wolfman x 2 in this area for Remains (these only spawn during a dead moon in this particular area). From the middle, go left so that the western Wolfman jumps over you, then you can quickly kill it from behind, taking no damage. Go back right to find the eastern Wolfman walking into the step, allowing you to easily crouch and kill it. Keep going back and forth for the entire Dead Moon cycle. Once a Dead Moon has finished, you can use a Horus Eye to change back to Dead Moon quickly. Do this for 5 x dead moon cycles, which last 03:40 each. Approximately 19 minutes should have passed and you should possess between 450 - 500 x Remains. Take the west exit twice once done.

MAW OF OUROBOROS

Now climb up a few ledges to reach the Groundskeeper just outside the cave during New Moon. Open his shop and buy the following items for Remains:
  • Potion x 3 - 30.
  • Waystone x 3 - 15.
  • Nectar x 1 - 20.
  • Ectoplasm x 1 - 20.

Then exchange Remains until you have Coins x 465; don’t exchange more than you need. Once done, use a Waystone and warp to Goetia.

GOETIA

Go east and enter the 3rd door you pass to find the Merchant and buy the following items with your Coins.
  • Horus Eye x 2 - 40.
  • Runes x 1 - 200.
  • Dagger x 1 - 30.
  • Backstep x 1 - 20.

After buying the items above, use a Waystone and warp to Theurgia.

THEURGIA

Descend to the lower floor and enter the southwest door to reach the save room and then save your game. Now exit the room and talk to the Lili NPC on the floor above. Enter the room to the right and talk to the Ninja NPC in there as well. Exit the room, climb up to the next floor, and talk with the Rul’sha NPC. Continue up to the northeast ledge, talk with the Ninja NPC, and then enter the northeast door to find the town Merchant, then buy the following with Coins:
  • Bandage x 1 - 50.
  • Bone Arc x 1 - 50.
  • Shield x 1 - 75.

Now leave the room and enter the northwest door. Talk with the 2 x Rul’sha NPCs in this room and then take the top exit to get back outside. Now talk with the Sabnock NPC to the right and then take the east exit to reach the next area.

BOG OF MOURNING

Make your way through this area and take the far-right exit.

STYGIAN MARSH

Make sure it is a Dead Moon, then continue right to encounter the Master Carpenter hunter near the middle of the room. Kill him using Potions if you need to heal and he will drop an Ectoplasm x 1. An easy way to fight him is by jumping close to him immediately and just spawn Cross. If you are lucky, you might even kill him without getting hurt (unlocking a trophy). However, this is not needed as you will use a much easier strategy for this trophy later on. Use a Horus Eye once he is defeated to change back to the new moon, then continue east and take the far-right exit.

DESCENT TO WRATH

Make your way right and descend the first set of stairs you reach to reach a Groundskeeper (during New Moon) and buy the following items:
  • Potion - Max.
  • Waystone - Max.
  • Nectar x 1 - 50.
  • Ectoplasm x 1 - 50.

Then exchange Remains until you have Coins x 350; don’t exchange more than you need. Once done, continue to the west and take the southwest exit.

ENTRANCE

Smash the 2 candles, then enter the middle doorway to reach a save room and enable this as a fast travel option. Interact with the save point to heal up and save your game if you need to, then leave the way you entered and go back through the east exit.

DESCENT TO WRATH

Make your way right and take the far-east exit.

MALEBOLGE GATEWAY

Carefully go right and take the far-east exit to reach the next town.

PAULINA

Go east and jump right to the first stone ledge you reach beside the lift. Jump to the right again to a wooden platform atop some stone and enter the doorway to reach the Merchant, then buy the following with Coins.

  • Ether x 3 - 60.
  • Horus Eye x 2 - 40.
  • Wrapping x 1 - 100.
  • Unholy Fire x 1 - 70.
  • True Sight x 1 - 80 (need Omurice).

Once you have the items above, exit the room and then make your way right, followed by up, and enter the northeast doorway to find a save room. Grab the Horus Eye x 1 from the chest to the right and then use a Waystone and warp to Clockwork Nightmare.

ENTRANCE

Enter the middle room once you spawn in, save your game, and then go through the right door to enter the dungeon.

CLOCKWORK NIGHTMARE

In the 1st room, make your way east and take the top right exit into the upper part of the room. Now climb to the top and take the top-left exit.

Be careful in the 2nd room as it’s very easy to fall to your death. Carefully traverse south, west, north, and then east to the middle of the room. Then go north to the top, followed by west, and take the northwest exit into the upper part. You can skip most of the 2nd room by running to the edge of the lift near the entrance and jumping onto the Ghost enemy that appears to the left, then using the knockback from it to land on the northern platform, though this can be tricky to do.

Continue your way to the top and then carefully go east and take the northeast exit. In the 3rd room, go east and then north to reach the middle ledge. Then follow this west and climb the steps to reach the upper part of the room. Now carry on to the east and head through the door to reach the 4th room where the boss awaits.

Boss - Valefar

Attack the boss with your whip when he lowers his head and when out of reach, use the Bone Arc conjure to hit him. Use Potions if you need to heal, and once beaten, you will gain a new shard:
  • Block Breaker x 1 - With this equipped, you will now be able to break false walls.

Once the boss is defeated and you fall down, loot the candles if you wish, then descend the nearby stairs to enter the lower part of the room. Then make your way west and take the southwest exit.

Now you're in the top part of the 1st room, head left to the northwest wall and you will see a false section, break this to find Logaeth Page VII  (1/16). Carry on south past the northwest door, past the large cog and take note of the first small platform on the left connected to some stairs that has a false section. Break this to find Logaeth Page VI (2/16). Head back up the room slightly and enter the northwest door back into the 2nd room.

Make your way to the far southwest wall in the 2nd room to find another false wall. Break this to find Logaeth Page VIII (3/16). Now make your way to the northwest staircase, break the false wall to find some Cake that will refill your HP and then climb the stairs to reach the upper part of the room. The third ledge on the left above the entrance will have a false part on its right side, break this to find Logaeth Page V (4/16) which should be the final page for this dungeon. If you open the map, this dungeon should have a ‘red tick’ on it, indicating you have all the pages. Now use a Waystone and warp to the Infernal Fortress.

Part 2 - Defeating Focalor

ENTRANCE

You are going to be clearing the nearby dungeon much later. For now, you have warped here to farm some Remains again, so head right into the graveyard.

TARTARUS

A Dead Moon should be getting close to trigger, so wait for that and then begin the farming process here. Just like before, stay in the middle of the area, then move left and right, killing the Wolfman enemies. They will die much quicker now that your whip is upgraded, making this farm a little more efficient. You should have Horus Eye x 4, so farm here for a total of 5 Dead Moon cycles. You should end up with over 500 x Remains. Once finished, use a Waystone and warp to Goetia.

GOETIA

Enter the 2nd door to your right to reach the save room and then save your game. Leave this room and now enter the 1st door on the left that you passed recently. Talk to the Sabnock NPC to the right with the True Sight passive equipped to detect a lie, which will earn you the trophy below.

Now climb up and go to the northwest corner of this room to find a Barbatos NPC and talk with him. Afterwards, enter the nearby northwest door to get back outside, then jump to the left and take the west exit.

SHEOL FOOTHILLS

Make your way west, trying to stay on the upper path, and you will eventually reach a false brick wall with a chest behind it. Smash this wall and loot the chest for an Ether x 1. Then, climb the stairs in this shortcut room and smash the false wall at the top. Now, continue west and take the northwest exit.

PLAIN OF BURNING SAND

Make your way through the far northwest exit; be sure you take the upper path. If you take the lower path, you will find in the next room that you can’t progress and will need to return and take the upper path anyway.

MEGIDDO DEPTHS

Go left to find a chest containing a Plunder Ring x 1. Continue left, sticking to the upper path, and you will eventually have to follow it down below an unreachable ledge with Cannon Morte x 2 enemies on it. Though you can actually reach this ledge if you jump into the Cannon Morte so that the knockback gives you access. Then you can quickly kill the Cannon Morte and smash the northwest false wall to find an Extra Life x 1. As the path starts to take you down, providing it’s the New Moon, you should find a Groundskeeper.

Buy the following from him with your Remains:
  • Potion - Max.
  • Waystone - Max.
  • Nectar x 1 - 75.
  • Ectoplasm x 1 - 75.

If the Groundskeeper hasn’t appeared because it is the Dead Moon, then no need to wait. Just push on into the next dungeon and he will appear in there instead! Once ready, continue west into the next area.

ENTRANCE

Enter the middle door to reach the save room before the next dungeon and save your game, then take the right exit.

FALLEN CITY

Be sure the True Sight passive is equipped so that you can see the false floors and walls, then make your way east through the 1st room and take the far-east exit. Be careful you don’t fall in the water as it will result in an instant death. There will be a false wall just above the east exit containing a Cake.

Now, in the 2nd room, slowly make your way up and keep a lookout for a floating ledge with a false eastern edge a little further up from the entrance. Smash this to find Logaeth Page IX (5/16) and grab it. Carry on upwards and then go east to reach the exit, but break the false wall first opposite the exit to find a chest with an Ofuda Charm x 1 inside (do NOT freely use this item type as these items will aid a few trophies later). Then, once ready, take the east exit into the 3rd room.

Wait for the horizontal lift on the right to come towards you, then jump on it and duck beneath the wall. Jump to the next lift once they start moving again and duck beneath the platform it passes, then take the far southeast exit to reach the boss.

Boss - Focalor

Defeat the boss by using the Unholy Fire conjure along with your whip when it’s on the floor and using the Bone Arc conjure when it’s in the air. Once the boss has 1 HP remaining, try to kill it while you’re standing beside the far-east wall as this will help with obtaining a collectible shortly after. Alternatively, you can stand on any of the ledges indicated in the screenshot below. Once killed, you will get:
  • Deep Sinker - This shard allows the user to survive underwater.

Providing you were near the east wall when you killed the boss, you should have fallen into the water onto either of the two eastern ledges. Break the false wall here to find Logaeth Page XI (6/16), then use a Waystone and warp to the Fallen City. You have missed some other collectibles in the Fallen City, but some are inaccessible currently, so you will come back for the rest later.

Part 3 - Defeating Gremory

ENTRANCE

Enter the door behind you and save your game. Go back out through the same door and then take the east exit.

MEGIDDO DEPTHS

Make sure you have the Deep Sinker passive equipped, then go right through the 1st pool of water and then jump into the 2nd pool to reach a new area.

LETHE CAVERN

Drop into the water below the entrance to find a chest containing an Ofuda Charm x 1. Now leave the water to the left and smash the northwest wall to find a chest containing a Plunder Ring x 1. Now make your way down, followed by right, and take the southeast exit. Be careful along the bottom of the area, as there are pits that will kill you if you fall down them.

WOOD OF SACRIFICE

Head east and climb down the steps just before the water to reach the lower part of the room. Then go left and take the southwest exit.

AVERNUS GROVE

Go west to find a Wolfman hunter and kill it. Then continue west which will lead you into a lower path with a chest. This chest will contain the following skill shard:
  • Summon Circle - Conjure up to 2 Magic Circles, which can be used as platforms.

Now keep following the path, which will eventually lead you back to the entrance, then head east back through the entrance.

WOOD OF SACRIFICE

Head east and then go north once you reach a wall and you will find yourself on the east side of a pool of water. If you jump west across the top of this pool, you will reach a false wall containing a Cake, though there is a save point coming up shortly. Then carry on east and take the far-right exit to reach the next town area.

ALMADEL

Wait for it to be a New Moon if necessary, then climb up the first 2 sets of stairs to reach an upper path, but talk to the Lamashtu NPC you pass on the way up. Now talk to the nearby Harrier NPC, then go right and talk to the Vul’sha NPC. Climb up the steps to the right and talk with the Marbas NPC and then enter the upper doorway nearby to reach a save room. Loot the chest to the right for an Horus Eye x 1 and then save your game. Exit the save room and then talk to the Wolfman just below you to the right; this is actually the hunter you recently defeated. Choose to exchange Remains until you have Coins x 1450+.

To the left of the Wolfman are 2 ledges, one is slightly higher and the other is slightly lower. Jump to the lower ledge, talk to the Lamashtu NPC and then enter the door on this floor to reach the town Merchant. Talk with him and buy the following using your Coins.
  • Double Jump - 150.

Exit once done, double jump towards and enter the next door to the left to reach a flooded room. Drop into the water and jump up to the right to reach the chest east of the entrance and loot it for a Waystone x 1, then head back through the entrance. Now talk to the Harrier and Lamashtu NPCs to the southeast and take the east exit to leave the town area.

TRAIL OF THE WORM

Make your way east, south, and then west, and take the southwest exit.

CENTRAL WELL

Use magic circles to gain height near the entrance and take the northeast exit above the entrance.

COCYTUS RIDGE

Make your way up the area and smash the false walls in the middle to find a chest containing a Plunder Ring x 1. Then continue ascending and take the north exit.

NOTORIA

Climb up to the town and enter the 2nd door to the right to find the Merchant. Talk with him and buy the following using your Coins;
  • Vellum - 400.
  • Black Powder - 600.

Leave the room once done, then go west and enter the far northwest door to find a save room. Grab the Horus Eye x 1 and then save your game. Now exit the room and go through the south exit, back into the previous area.

COCYTUS RIDGE

Head all the way down to the bottom and take the southwest exit.

CENTRAL WELL

Make your way over to the far northwest ledge to find a chest. Grab the Nectar from this chest and then take the southwest exit.

RIVER OF WOE

Make sure the Deep Sinker passive is equipped, then go west and fall into the first pool of water. Head right in the water over to the northeast false wall and smash it to find a chest containing an Ectoplasm. Now exit the water and continue west to find a red portal above some water and just before the western exit. This portal will transport you somewhere different depending on the current moon cycle. Make sure it is the Dead Moon, then go through the portal to reach a hunter room.

Head up through the floating water and then go west to eventually reach the Killer Barber hunter. Kill it to make a chest spawn and open it to obtain the Dive Kick skill. Now make your way back east and go back through the portal, but be careful you don’t fall down a pit when leaving the water near the exit. Once back outside, use a Horus Eye to change it to the New Moon and then head back into the portal to reach a Merchant and buy the following with your Coins;
  • Va Ischa - 150.

Head back through the portal once done and drop into the water below you to find a chest containing a Horus Eye. Now exit the water and take the west exit.

LAKE ACHERON

Drop into the water to the left, descend to the bottom, and take the southwest exit.

GEHENNA PASS

Carefully head left and take the far west exit. Be careful you don’t fall in the lava along the way as it means an instant death and the top path is generally easier.

LEMEGETON

Go left and enter the door above the water to reach a save room and then save your game. Exit the room and continue west, then enter the next door you reach above the 2nd pool of water. Talk to the Merchant here and buy the following with your Coins.
  • Dantalion - 150.

Exit the room afterwards and then take the far-west exit.

PHLEGETON

Make your way west and use Magic Circles to reach the platform above the lava. Continue to the top of the area to find a Groundskeeper, providing it is a New Moon. Talk with him and buy the following with your Remains.
  • Potion - Max.
  • Nectar - 100.
  • Ectoplasm - 100.

Now continue left and take the far-west exit.

ENTRANCE

Enter the middle room and save your game, then go through the door on the right once you’re ready to tackle the next dungeon.

FURNACE OF DIS

The 1st room of this dungeon begins with 3 floors, with enemies spread amongst them and spikes spaced out along the top and bottom. Make your way east along here, but make sure you break the false wall at the end of the lower floor to find Logaeth Page XIII (7/16). Now carry on through this room until you reach a lift with 2 falling guillotine traps just after it. Use magic circles just after the guillotine traps to reach a hidden alcove above, but be careful you don’t fall down the pit far below. Smash the east false east wall in this alcove to find Logaeth Page XIV (8/16). Now fall down from the west ledge in this alcove and you will safely land on the left below. Carry on following the main path and go through the southeast exit.

In the 2nd room, head right and then down when the path turns, and you should reach a long corridor of guillotine traps with a false wall at the bottom. Drop down when safe to do so and smash the false wall with the Dantalion conjure to reach the chest. Open the chest to find an Ofuda Charm. Now continue left, following the path, which will lead you south, then east, followed by south again, and will eventually turn to the west. Once the path turns west, open the chest beneath the twin guillotines to find a Potion. Next, head up the guillotine shaft, then go left and down to find the southwest exit door, but don’t use it just yet. Instead, go right to reach a dead end with a false wall that contains a Logaeth Page XV (9/16). Now go back to the left and enter the southwest door.

Boss - Gremory

Make your way left through the 3rd room to shortly reach the boss arena. Place a magic circle in the middle and defeat the boss with a combination of the Dantalion conjure and your whip to obtain a new skill shard:
  • Dimension Shift - Teleport a short distance, even through solid walls.

With the boss defeated, go left to find a chest with a Potion inside. Carry on to the top of the room using your new skill to teleport (or use the magic platforms and jump) into the cells and enter the upper-most cell near the middle. This cell has a false east wall; break it to find Logaeth Page XVI (10/16). Once you have the page, head to the southeast cell to find a chest containing a Plunder Ring. If you die, you can also use magic platforms in the room you spawn to head immediately north to get to this Plunder Ring. Now you have everything of value in this dungeon, use a Waystone and warp to Notoria.

Part 4 - Defeating Bathin

NOTORIA

From the spawn point, enter the 1st door to the right and talk to the Harrier NPC inside the room. Exit afterwards through the same door and then talk to the Harrier NPC on the platform above you. Now enter the northeast door and talk with Vul’sha and Lamashtu NPCs inside. Talk to the Killer Barber to the right next and exchange Remains until you have Coins x200+.

Exit the room once done and then enter the next door to the left to reach the Merchant and buy the items listed below with your Coins:
  • Waystone - Max.
  • Dagger - 30.
  • Bone Arc - 50.
  • Standstill - 100.

Then exit the shop and enter the 3rd door to the left to find a Marbas NPC and talk to him. Leave the room and talk to the Marbas NPC to the left followed by the Vul’sha NPC to the southwest. Now enter the northwest door you just passed to enter the save room. Be sure to save your game, then leave the room and take the southern exit.

COCYTUS RIDGE

Make your way down to the bottom of the room and use Dimension Shift to enter the enclosed alcove with the chest inside. Open this chest to find the Devil’s Ring and then use a Waystone to warp to the Infernal Fortress.

ENTRANCE

First, enter the middle doorway to enter the save room and then save your game. If you have killed any of the hunters without damage before, the next section can be skipped entirely. Go back through the same left exit and then go east into the graveyard.

TARTARUS

Head right and in the middle of the area, between 2 floating platforms, is a tombstone with 2 candles burning beside it. Use a Horus Eye to change to the dead moon if needed, then crouch in front of this tombstone to spawn the Revenant hunter. You need to kill this hunter without taking damage, so use your Ofuda Charms, which grant invincibility for 10 seconds, as indicated by a sparkling aura around your body.

After you have the trophy above, open the inventory and select ‘Return To Title’. Then reload this file to get your Ofuda Charms back, as you need these for the next boss and you also need to reset the Revenant death until later.

ENTRANCE

Enter the middle doorway to enter the save room, then save your game and go through the east door into the dungeon.

INFERNAL FORTRESS

Head to the far northeast false wall above the east exit and smash it to find Logaeth Page I (11/16), then head through the east exit below.

In the 2nd room, make your way up to the top northwest false wall and break it to find Logaeth Page II (12/16), then take the top northeast exit.

Once you enter the 3rd room, use Dimension Shift to teleport to the floor below you and smash the false east wall here to find Logaeth Page III (13/16). Next, make your way to the southwest corner of this room to find another false wall containing Logaeth Page IV (14/16). Now you have all the pages for every dungeon except for the Fallen City, enter the southeast door to reach the boss.

Boss - Bathin

Defeat the Bathin boss without taking any damage. Do this by using the Ofuda Charms, just like with the hunter, and try to defeat him as quickly as possible before you run out of items. Once he is dead, you will get the next shard:
  • Accelerator - A dash attack. Targets will be weak to whip attacks for a short time.

With the boss defeated and all the pages here acquired, use a Waystone and warp to Paulina.

Part 5 - Defeating Bael and the Bad Ending

PAULINA

Talk to the Ninja NPC to the right followed by the Ninja NPC on the nearby platform. Now enter the door nearby and talk to the Lamashtu NPC inside. Leave the room and talk to the Sabnock and Lamashtu NPCs to the far southeast. Smash the false wall beside the southeast door to find an Extra Life, then enter the nearby doorway.

Talk to the Sabnock NPC inside, then use your shards to reach the top of the room to find four chests and loot them all for the following items:
  • Waystone
  • Plunder Ring
  • Ofuda Charm
  • Plunder Ring.

Leave the room after, then head upwards, talking to the Ninja NPC you pass and enter the northeast save room and save your game. Exit the room and talk to the Rul’sha NPC to the left, then take the far-west exit.

MALEBOLGE GATEWAY

Make your way up to the top northwest ledge to find a chest and open it to find the Fancy Bag. Now go back east and take the upper northeast exit.

ENTRANCE

Because you have already defeated the four Dukes of Hell, a cutscene should automatically trigger upon entry, which will spawn the castle. Head into the middle doorway and save your game, then enter the east doorway to enter the final dungeon.

PANDEMONIUM

From this point on, anything you use now or collect will all be reset back to the recent save after completing the game, so there is no need to worry about collecting currency or wasting items in this dungeon!

To begin, make your way east through this 1st room and smash the false wall above the northeast exit to find some Cake, then go through the door below.

Once in the 2nd room, be sure the Deep Sinker passive is equipped, then place a magic circle near the entrance and jump up into the water above. Make your way to the top to leave the water and then go east to find a guillotine shaft that you need to enter to progress. Smash the false part of the ceiling just to the right of the guillotine's path to find a chest containing an Ether. Jump over to the spinning cogs to the right and then Dimension Shift to the red portal below them. Smash the false wall to the left of the red portal to find some Cake, then enter the red portal to spawn from another further below. You should be able to see another red portal to the right that you can’t currently access. Summon a magic circle beside the wall to the right and then jump on it and smash the false wall near the red portal to the right and then use the gap this has made to Dimension Shift to the eastern red portal. Now loot the chest in the false wall to find an Ofuda Charm and then take the southeast exit to the right.

Now in the 3rd room, jump across to the ledge to the right and smash the false wall to find a magic orb, then use the gap to Dimension Shift to the right. Carefully continue east trying not to fall into the lava and once you reach the Dullahammer and Harrier enemies, jump to the right to find another false wall containing some Cake. Use Dimension Shift while standing inside the false wall cavity to get to the right quicker, where you will find a lift moving horizontally above lava and a solid ledge above it. Just above this lift and beneath the upper ledge is a false ceiling that drops an Extra Life. This can be hard to obtain as you may miss it or die in the process. Keep traversing right and take the far east exit; there is a false ledge just before the exit containing a Cake.

The 4th room doesn’t contain much other than some candles to restock your magic if low. A Plunder Ring can be useful here to make the candles drop bigger magic orbs. Carry on through this room and take the southeast exit.

Smash any candles in the 5th room, then enter the central portal to reach the boss.

Boss - Bael

The Bael boss fight consists of 3 heads that share the same health bar and will rotate around the arena. They will periodically use their attacks on you, usually 1 head at a time and occasionally, one of them may stop on the side of the screen and perform a different attack. Sticking to one side of the arena seems to work best and just attack them from there as they come within range. You can use the Dantalion conjure as that will damage them as you’re trying to whip them along with destroying incoming projectiles. The Unholy Fire conjure can also be effective if you throw it at them as they come close. Place some magic circles near the middle as well to avoid their stationary attacks and just keep on the pressure until they are defeated. Remember you have all your items at your disposal as your inventory will be reset after game cxompletion. Once defeated, provided you haven’t collected all the Logaeth Pages or killed all the Hunters yet, you should get the Bad Ending.

Part 6 - The Bitter and True Ending

Skip the credits if you wish, then load your save file once back on the title screen to respawn at the recent save point. You will be reset to your inventory the moment you saved last and the ending you just received will be saved to your profile. Once you have control, use a Waystone to warp to the Infernal Fortress.

ENTRANCE

Once you spawn in, go right into the graveyard.

TARTARUS

Head east and crouch in front of the middle tombstone during the Dead Moon to trigger the Revenant hunter again. Open the chest he drops to find the Ruinous Rood conjure and then spend the remaining time of the Dead Moon farming the Wolfman enemies x2 in this area. Kill the Wolfmen using the Accelerator skill, along with a follow-up basic attack straight after, as you need to do this 25 times for a trophy. You can speed up the farming process a little by jumping once and then using a Dive Kick on the right Wolfman. Once you have gotten the trophy (might take multiple cycles), use a Waystone and warp to Paulina.

PAULINA

Go right and enter the first door you come to on the lower floor, just before the steps. Talk to the Merchant here and buy the following with your Coins:
  • Waystone x 3 - 60.

Now head up to the northeast save room to find the Revenant hunter outside. Then talk with him and exchange Remains until you have at least Coins x250+. Take the far west exit once ready.

MALEBOLGE GATEWAY

Make your way upwards and take the upper northeast exit.

ENTRANCE

Head into the middle doorway and save your game, then enter the east doorway to enter the final dungeon again.

PANDEMONIUM

This will be exactly the same as before, so there isn’t anything else to explain. You can refer to the previous visit if necessary. You will now be trying to get the Bitter Ending, which should trigger now that you have killed all the Hunters but not gathered all the Logaeth Pages. So make your way east all the way back to the boss and kill him to trigger the ending.

Once Bael is defeated and you have the Bitter Ending, skip the credits if you wish, then load your save file once back on the title screen to respawn at the recent save point.  Once you have control back, use a Waystone and warp to the Fallen City..

ENTRANCE

Once you spawn in, go left into the graveyard.

GOLGOTHA

Make your way left to the Merchant at the end that has appeared now that you possess the Fancy Bag. Talk with him when safe to do so and buy the following items, then go right and back through the east exit.
  • Riga Dohin - 150.
  • Unholy Fire - 100.

It is not needed to collect every Nectar and Ectoplasm for this trophy.

ENTRANCE

Enter the middle doorway to enter the save room and then save your game and go through the east door into the dungeon.

FALLEN CITY

You are only here to collect some items and Logaeth Lages you missed earlier. Begin by going right and take the far-east exit.

In the 2nd room, head to the wall all the way to the right where the lift and Cannon Morte x2 enemies are, then drop down below the lift into the water. Smash the false wall on the left here inside the water to find Logaeth Page X (15/16). Now make your way east through the water, follow the path north, and then back west and climb out the water using the stairs at the end. Open the chest here to find an Ectoplasm, then use Dimensions Shift to reach the ledge above and take the east exit outside the water.

From the entrance of the 3rd room, jump up to the upper ledge and follow it right to the middle of the room and you will find a false wall on the upper middle ledge. Smash this and loot a Logaeth Page XII (16/16), which should be your final page. Now you have everything, use a Waystone and warp to Paulina.

PAULINA

Once you spawn in, take the far west exit once ready.

You will now be trying to get the final ending, which should trigger now that you have killed all the Hunters and gathered all the Logaeth Pages. So make your way east all the way back to the boss and kill him to trigger the True Ending, obtaining the final trophy:
